So it turns out that the big, complicated Gaul fanfic thingy I was working on wanted to be a comic. I am clearly insane.

Summary: What would you do to save your species? Would you sell your soul to the devil?

Rated: PG-13/T for dark themes and depictions of death

So is this story something like Dr. Faustu?

I've never read Faust, but from what I know of it, probably not.

And I ignored my excruciating arm pain at work today to do the next page.

Oooooh. In a round about way, I suppose I did. I was using the common cultural reference of selling one's soul to the devil.

Okay, is anyone here reading these? I've got a serious medical condition and if it's not going to benefit me to post the links here, I will not be posting them any longer. I value the use of my hands too much to waste my time these days.

Mm, I like it so far. :3 The last couple pages show a different side of Gaul I didn't really expect... I haven't gotten that far in TEN yet (HAET EXECUTIONER!), but I do know Gaul is the villain, so yeah. o: Keep it up if it doesn't hurt too much. :3 Wouldn't want it to interfere with your other art if it does, you know.

SequoiaDragon: Yep, his eye is missing. In TEN, he has a gem to replace it, so I figured I'd deal with how he got that gem in this story.

DragonGyrll: Oooh, what an awesome dragon! You're very talented. And don't even start comparing yourself to me; I've got at least a decade of practice past you, most likely. I've been drawing for over twenty years, so just keep practicing and you'll be even better than you already are in time.

(When fighting the Executioner, Dragon Time is your friend, as is the Earth Flail. ) Gaul is somewhat one-dimensional in the game, but he struck me as a guy who has a lot of potential. Also, I hate seeing one race completely vilified, so I figured I'd address some of those issues in HoD.

^.^ Thx. I make up my own dragons. And yeah, that's a long time. I've been drawing for like, my whole life, (well, almost, I think like 10 years or so...) I'm turning 13 next month, so yeah, I still have a long way to go. I'm wanting to take more art classes, but none of them teach me anything... So, I basically taught myself by just keep drawing, and I got better. I'm wanting to do air brush, sculptures, and paintings.

Keep practicing.

It does take time. I'm not sure how long each page of this comic takes because I draw it in bits and pieces while I'm at work (it gets quiet at the Foucault pendulum, so I sit down and work on a page until someone comes into the area to ask about it).

Ooh... :3 Yes, the cover's great. Do I spy Pariah?... ;3 I wish I could draw that nicely with pens. My pen stuff always ends up more scribbly and messy. .-.

Thank you, guys. Yes, it was a lot of work; gave me a sore arm and a headache, but I think the results were worth it.

As for drawing with pens... They've been my tool of choice for at least fifteen years, so I've had a lot of practice to get good with them. Also, I do a quick, very messy and light pencil sketch before I take a pen to it for HoD.

^I do the same thing when I'm doing something in pen...lolz It's a lot easier to do that. I usually just draw with pencil...and I think I've been drawing for 10 or 11 years...?

HoD is a rare exception with my pen drawings. I usually just do the drawing from start to finish with the pen. But since this is a comic, I figured it wouldn't be a bad idea to do a really basic layout beforehand.

Oh, ok. And, out of curiousity, do you work for something that has something to do with artistic stuff...?

Sore arm when you draw + "I like the use of my hand and I don't have much to wast" = Extremely bad sounding for mwa.

I knew I shouldn't have tried to mow the lawn using the wipper snipper.

Actually my saw arm is alot less saw now. Just try and write with your left hand. Thats what I did.

^lolz Oh, ok. Sounds cool, though. I wonder, can you also draw realsitic people? Cuz I like drawing realsitic people, and they come out pretty good, but for the fact that it takes lots of time and patience to make it, and they're not easy. So I was just curious...

Yes, I do portraits of people and animals, but only very rare occasions. They're not as fun to draw as cartoons are and they make my head hurt.

It's on the "Spam Central" forum topic, and it's on the topic "Post any pictures you want", but there's lots of pages for that topic, so that's why it's gonna take a long time... But once I find it, I might be able to show you. ^.^ Her name is Guinevere (Gwen for short). BTW, I also like your other cartoonish drawings. REALLY cute! ^.^

Are you sure you're not thinking of the Goths, Alexis? They were an old German race, if I remember rightly. Oh wait! I remember the Galls, too. As for the Ape King (or Battleeater, as he is known at this point in the comic) his name is derived from the word "gall" which is mostly used to refer to bile (a bitter-tasting liquid in your digestive system that can sometimes be coughed up if you're sick).

Um...no. Color is WAY too much work for a fan comic. I don't even color "Ye Gods!" and I barely have time to do HoD pages as it is (I draw them at work).
