Krona ‘Fire’ Rinku leaped over the fence as bullets blasted off of the pavement where he had just been standing. “****!” He hissed under his breath as a ricocheting bullet grazed his shoulder. Blood dripped out, and he caught it before it could land and splatter on the pavement, an obvious marker of his DNA- his non-human DNA. He clapped a hand over the bullet wound, feather like tattoos on his arms and chest glowing with a purple light. The light spread over the rest of him and turned his grey eyes purplish as he vanished. Three bullets slammed into the wall he’d been standing in front of.
Krona appeared in a sphere of purple light in a dark room and fell to the floor with a whump. “Ooww…” He groaned loudly. He’d landed on his face again. Krona sat up, rubbing his nose, and inspected the bullet wound.
“You cut that one way to close, Krona, you idiot.” A voice floated out of the shadows in the room.
“Yeah yeah, shut it, Roku.” Krona snapped back. A little creature with giant rabbit ears, a rabbit body, orange eyes with swirls extending through her fur from them, giant feet, and hand like paws hopped out of the darkness, into the light that still sparked from Krona’s glowing tattoos.
“I’m just saying. You can’t keep cutting these little ‘outings’ of yours so close. You almost left a trace! Idiot!” Roku snapped, placing her paw on the bullet wound as she spoke. Her paw glowed with a radiant orange light. The bullet wound shrank and vanished with a bright orange spark.
“Ouch! Damn it Roku! You promised to warn me before you did that again!” Krona snapped with a yelp, rubbing his arm. It still tingled.
“Well, you won’t let me heal you if I warn you! And you know I never heal much anyway. Just small stuff, like that.” Roku snapped, making a humph sound and hopping out of the range of Krona’s glowing. “Now don’t get shot next time and we won’t have this problem!” There was a brief pause, than, “Brace yourself.” Lights blazed on, turning the room bright with blinding light.
“Gah! Ow! Blinded! Roku, when I can see again, I swear, I’m gonna strangle you to death!” Krona shouted angrily, squeezing his eyes shut tightly. Roku snickered at him evily.
“Hey, don’t look at me. I did warn you. What do you think ‘Brace yourself’ means?” She hopped over to the panel in the wall and slipped through it. Krona sat there, still blind.
“Roku! That isn’t a warning! …” He paused, listening. “Uh, Roku? You still there? …” No answer. “Roku!” Krona slammed the floor with a fist covered in purple fire, leaving a dent. “You sneaky little Furroh! You left, didn’t you?” He shouted…to nothing and no one… “Uhhhh!” He slumped down briefly in a sigh, then got up and felt along the wall to the panel. He walked at it and slammed his face into solid, unforgiving metal. “Owwww!! Roku, damnit! Let! Me! In!” He pounded the panel with his fist, fire blazing along his tattoos.
The panel suddenly lost all solidness, and Krona fell through it into another bright room, flat on his face. “You called?” Roku piped up from a stool at the table. She was eating a piece of cake.
“Hey! That’s my cake!” Krona snapped, sitting up abruptly and opening his eyes.
“Damn, you can see again.” Roku muttered, licking chocolate icing off her whiskers.
“Yes, I can see again, no thanks to you.” He said, sitting up. “And I thought chocolate cake made you ill.”
“Meh.” Roku shrugged. “It tastes good. Therefore, I don’t give a damn if I get a stomachache later.” She ate another forkful of cake and grinned evily. Krona stared then slammed his head into the wall.
“But I’m the one who has to listen to you moan!” He groaned, slamming his head into the wall again…and three more times.
“Do you just want a piece of cake, Krona?” Roku asked him, fork poised over the cake.
“…………Y………Yes…” He muttered.
“What do we say, Krona?” She asked him, pointing the fork at him.
“………Pl…Ple…Please…” Roku nodded in satisfaction.
"Good. Now get your own cake." She said, eating another forkfull and smiling happily.
"Grrrrrrrrrr..." Krona mumbled, then dragged himself up and went to the fridge. He pulled it open to find- no cake. "You just like to torture me, don't you you fuzzy tormentor?" He groaned, closing the fridge and letting his face fall onto the counter. "Ow." Roku shrugged.
"Pretty much, yeah." She grinned evily.
