Blocking other users should hide all their posts from you, instead of just keeping them from commenting your guestbook.

This is how the "Ignore User" feature works on Gaia. There's.....a few people on this site who's posts I would really like to just not see anymore. They post in pretty much every thread I want to check out, so I can't exactly ignore them.

I'm sure there's other people on this site who would like this feature, too. Would be nice to ignore the trolls, too.

I think something similar to this has already been rejected.

You don't like them, don't read their messages.

I don't see how that's fanservice when dark's been mentioning something about blocking users from topics for awhile now.

The average maturity on this site is way below low and users would simply block anybody for simple reasons like not agreeing with their opinion or telling the truth. Crap like this is why I stay away from Gaia like cancer

With the lack of moderation on this site, it might actually be a good thing in some ways, at least for people who have legitimate reasons. At least you'll be able to do something about the people who annoy you if there aren't moderators to tell them to leave you alone.

I think it's a good idea. I mean, so what if you can't post on the Guestbook of some random person's account? And so what if they can't read your posts? As long as you can choose what blocking does, then it's all good, everybody is happy!

What if they're immature and make Topics that you would like to talk to them on? What if a newer user misuses the rule and blocks you for no reason? New Users go like this;

Exactly my Point.

Why should anyone else care what posts anyone else can or can't read? If someone wants to risk skipping an important post, I don't see why anyone else should care.

But it could be something seriously important. And it would be annoying to see posts saying the same thing over and over.

Seriously important like what? I can't think of anything that any one member could say that would be "seriously important" for everyone in the thread to read. And there is repetition in pretty much all threads anyway....

I mean, I get what you're saying. Someone might have a good point to bring up and others might miss it because they have that person blocked. But I think the benefits (increased control over trolling/bullying on the forums themselves) could outweigh that problem on this forum, and I don't think it's really that big of a deal if someone can't see someone else's posts.

As long as it's optional, I'm happy, but I still think there needs to be some kind of system to deal with it. Forum Games and Roleplays should be excluded from the block, though.
