Hiya folks. Yes, for the first time in like, a year, I have actually started a new topic.
So... this is a story about Wanderist's cousin, Fireball. If you read the first story (The Legend of Wanderist: The White Legend) you would know that Fireball helped Wanderist run away in the beginning of the story. Well, this story ties into the beginning of the story and you see how Fireball (and Hope) joins up with Wanderist and her friends in the second story. So...enjoy!
Chapter 1: Wanderist's escape; Sally's surprise
Fireball was in his cave with his parents, watching as his parents slept, waiting for midnight. Finally, he decided it was time and snuck out into the freezing blizzard outside. After taking a quick look around, he turned toward a path and started walking, ignoring the cold whether. Eventually, after about five minutes of walking, he saw another cave. His cousin's cave. After a moment, he then saw a white dragon come out. She saw him and walked over. "You sure you want to do this?" Fireball asked her. She nodded. "My destiny is out there somewhere. I'm not going to sit here while my parents try to change me." She said. "Okay. So what do you want me to tell your parents and your sister?" "Tell them whatever. They won't care anyway." Just then, another voice came out of the cave. "What's going on here?" It asked. Fireball and the girl turned to see another female coming out of the cave, this one being black with yellow wings, stomach, and horns. "Good evening, Sally." Fireball said. "Evening? It's midnight, you idiot! And Wanderist, what are you two doing out here?!" Sally almost yelled. "Jeez, sis, calm down! You wouldn't want to wake up mom and dad, now would you?" Wanderist replied softly. Sally didn't respond, just let out a low growl and stepped toward the two dragons. Fireball knew that even after all her sister put her through, Wanderist didn't want to fight Sally, so he would have to fight her instead while she runs off to start her new heroic life. "Wanderist, I'll deal with Sally, you go ahead." Wanderist looked at him like he was crazy, but Fireball didn't give her time to respond. "Go on! I can handle this without lifting a finger. Don't worry." He said. After thinking about it for a moment, she sighed and turned toward the exit, and knowing flying would probably be difficult in this whether, she knew she had to try. "Then I leave the rest to you... Goodbye, Fireball. Thank you." Wanderist said, then after smiling at her cousin one last time, flew off, letting the strong wind blow her away. "Hey! Wait!" Sally yelled, about to go after her before having a fireball hit the snow in front of her. "Don't even try following her!" Fireball yelled.
Sally and Fireball circled each other for several minutes without attacking. Then Fireball spoke. "You know, you're not as different from Wanderist as you think." He said, angering Sally into shooting poison at him, which he dodged. "If you think I'm anything like her-" "All I know is that, even after how you're parents have corrupted you, I don't see anything but good in you, just like in Wanderist." Fireball explained."What are you saying?!" She roared. "I think you already know what I'm saying." He replied, knowing how ticked Sally was now. Suddenly, in a flash, Fireball was tackled and now pinned to the snowy ground. "You're really foolish enough to think that?!" She laughed. "I don't think it..." He said, pushing her off. "I know it." He replied with a smirk. "I don't know why, but you're only trying to avoid getting pushed aside by your parents like Wanderist was. You're only doing what they ask. Don't even try denying that." There was a silence after that. Sally then sighed and turned toward the cave. "Whatever. I'll let her go. She's not worth it anyway." She said, then walked back in. "How'd he know...? Not even I could see that.... So...I'm actually like my sister...?"
TBC....
Not my best, but I was in a bit of a rush.

Chapter 2: Sally's decision
That night, Sally thought about what her cousin said, constantly changing opinions. "What am I thinking?! He dosen't know what the heck he's saying! He just wanted me to let Wanderist go, and his plan worked!" She thought at first. Then, as she thought about it, she started thinking differently. "Then again, though I was never close to him, I know Fireball dosen't lie about stuff like that. And he sounded dead serious..." She looked out a crack in the cave, staring blankly into the blizzard, and at the forest where Wanderist took off. Then she sighed and laid down, knowing she needed to get some sleep before her parents start scolding her for letting her sister get away in the morning. Later, Sally opened her eyes to see a baby Wanderist in front of her, staring at her curiously. She looked around to see that she was shrunken down in size, her parents both standing over them like towers. Their father, Black, glanced at Wanderist. "Darkness, this is the dark army's last hope." He said, staring at her. Darkness, the mother, nodded, glancing at her, then at Sally. "Yes. Both of them are our last hopes. The ultra light dragon may have the ability to give us what we want, but let's not forget about her. She also has great power and potential. She will help us fulfill her sister's destiny." She said, Black nodding in response. Then they gave them their names. Wanderist, the last hope of the dark army's victory, and Sally, the dark dragoness destined to be a great leader of the dark army alongside her sister. At first, the two got along. They were like they are now, joking around with each other and helping each other get stronger. Then, when Black and Darkness saw that Wanderist was not falling for the darkness like they thought Sally was, they forced Sally to stop respecting her. Sally rejected at first, but then her parents finally gave her no choice. But deep down, she never wanted to be like that to her own sister. She didn't even want to be evil, just like Wanderist, but she felt forced. Especially when she saw how her parents were treating her when she refused to fall for their corruption. But before the dream could go any further, a voice yelled to her. A deep, evil, scary voice. "SALLY,WAKE UP!" The deep voice called. When Sally woke up, her parents were standing over her, wanting to know if she had known of Wanderist's escape. She lied and said she didn't, so her parents left her alone after that. But Sally could overhear then in the other side. "This is no good, Black. What if she dosen't see the truth? What if her leaving only provokes more good into her?" Darkness said, worried. "Don't worry. She can pretend to be good all she wants, but I know that deep down, she wants our respect just like Sally did. When she discovers the gift that was given to her, she'll see." Black assured his mate. After some consideration, Sally decided that if anyone could keep Wanderist's heart pure like it was now, it was her own sister. Sally flew over to Fireball's cave that afternoon. His parents were shocked and afraid to see her. "Don't worry, I'm not going to order you around like I do when my parents are around." She said. "You're good...?" Fireball's dad, Firestorm said, shocked. "Um...you can say that. We'll go with neutral for now. Is Fireball here?" She replied. Her aunt and uncle then led her to Fireball's part of the cave. He was as shocked to see her as his parents were, and Sally could tell. Sally explained to Fireball that he was right and that she wanted to help her sister. "My parents think that this will lead to her being evil.. and if there's anyone who can prevent that, I can. My parents don't really care for me anyway." Sally explained. After thinking for a moment, Fireball said, "I told you that you were more like her then you think. Your parents just didn't want you two having a close bond. They needed you to hate her so you could help them spread their evil on to her." He said. "I'll do the same I did for Wanderist, I'll make sure you get away safely." He replied with a smirk. TBC... Yes, I know this part was more about Sally's past. Next part won't be so much though. |

Chapter 3: Forced away
There was a blizzard outside, but Fireball didn't care. He sat on a cliff, shivering next to a fire he made. He wanted to go in, but his parents said they had something to attend to and that it was too dangerous to be in the cave alone where he could be easily found by his aunt and/or uncle. So he sat there on the snow covered cliff watching the snow flakes swiftly fall down. But the quiet didn't last. He soon heard strong wings flapping in the sky behind him, drawing closer. He turned around to see Black, his uncle (and Wanderist and Sally's father) land behind him. "You!" He roared angrily. Stepping back, Fireball replied in a calm voice, "What is it now, uncle?" Instead of a decent answer, Black grabbed his nephew and flew off, Fireball screaming and yelling out confused. "What are you doing, uncle?!" "Just shut up!" The black and dark yellow dragon snapped as he flew on. "Well.... now I know where Wanderist and Sally get their rude commenting from." He thought. Black flew Fireball to his (and Darkness's) lair. He threw Fireball into the snowy ground and walked toward the entrance. "Come in. We have to talk." He ordered, then entered, Fireball following, knowing it would be dangerous to disobey. And as it turned out, it wasn't necessarily talking that he and Darkness wanted to do, for when Fireball entered, he was shocked to find his mother and father chained to the ground and unconscious, Darkness standing over her sister, Comet, and her brother in law, Firestorm. "Mother! Father!" Fireball shouted as his eyes widened. He tried to run over to them, but Darkness snarled, warning him to stay away. "Try, and they'll die." She snarled. "You would really kill your own sister?" Fireball said, glancing at Comet. He got a chuckle in response. "You don't really think I ever cared about her, do you?" She laughed, Black joining in from behind their scared nephew. "What do you two want with them?" He asked. Black and Darkness then glared at him. "We know you helped Wanderist get away. Then you corrupted Sally with your goodie dragon crap! Sally is gone because of you!" Black yelled, smacking him with his fore paw, knocking him back. "Now that you've taken both of our daughters, why not kill two family members special to you?" Darkness said coldly. "You never cared about either of them..." Fireball replied, receiving Black pinning him to the ground as a response. "We loved them both! I know we were hard on them, but it was for their own good! They are the future, after all! I should kill all three of you for what you've done!" Black roared, lifting a paw up to strike Fireball. "Wait, Black!" Darkness called. Black turned his head to look at her. "I say we make our favorite nephew here a deal." She said before he could say anything. "Get off him." Black did as his mate said and stepped back. "I'm not making any deal with you!" Fireball shouted as he got up. "Oh, you will if it costs you your parents' lives if you don't." Darkness smirked, glancing down at his mother and father. "Now Fireball, since you helped Sally get away, you're going to go out there and find her. It may be better for Wanderist to see darkness for herself, but Sally dosen't need that. So you are going to find her and bring her back. As long as you aren't here, your parents will live. If you ever come back and Sally is not with you, all three of you will die." His aunt explained. Fireball's eyes widened. "What do I do?! Sally wouldn't want me coming after her.... but if I don't..." "Now scram! NOW! You have five seconds to be GONE!" Black roared, then he started counting. "One...two..." Fireball was out by three, running into the dead forest in front of the lair in the direction that Sally took off that other night. TBC... (Yes, Comet may sound like a guy name, but she's a minor charterer, so... I don't really care to make her name super creative or anything. |

Chapter 4: The forest of darkness and despair It was freezing, snowing, and cold, harsh winds blew throughout the forest, only making matters worse. On top of that, there was a heavy fog, so flying would be dangerous, even if the winds weren't so harsh. There was no shelter to be seen, so all Fireball could do is walk... well, run. He was still running, afraid that Black and Darkness were watching and that if he slowed down, his parents would die. A rather stupid fear to someone like him, but he still feared it would happen, so he ran. He had still been running when the sunset, and he had still been running when it got dark, not able to slow down. He knew that in this heavy snow storm and fog, there was no way he could find Sally. In fact, by now, he was sure she wasn't even in the forest anymore, which is why he was now hurrying to the other side of it. He wasn't even thinking about what he was going to do when he got to her, he had done so much to convince her she wasn't like her parents, he surely couldn't run into her and say that she had to go home. Lost in thought and fear, he didn't see the hill he was about to run off, and so he fell strait off and into a pile of snow. Luckily, it wasn't a large fall or anything. This finally stopped his running and slowed him down. As he shook all of the snow off and looked at his surroundings for the first time, panting heavily, he saw that he was lost. Go figure. He hadn't even thought about where he was going. Signing tiredly, he continued at a regular walking pace. After all his running, he could hardly keep his eyes open. The fact that it was now dark didn't exactly help. Eventually, the last step he took was tripping over a rock. After that, he passed out there on the snowy terrain, expecting to die. TBC.... |

Chapter 5: The legendary purple dragon Fireball slowly started to open his eyes to see himself in a tiny cave, causing his head to shoot up and his eyes to widen. "Oh crap! How'd I get here? ...Ain't I dead?" He thought, remembering last night, how he collapsed in the snow in freezing temperatures. This can't be right. There's no way he could actually be alive, much less in a cave that he didn't even see before fainting. Well... unless... "OH! There's someone else out here!" He yelled in his mind, facepalming himself for being so dumb and not realizing it before. Knowing this, he stood up, accidentally banging his head on the near ceiling of the "cave." After rubbing his head, he finally walked out, seeing nothing but snow and trees. The blizzard had ended and the sky was clear, the snow and the sky made it quite a beautiful forest, if you leave out the dead, evil looking trees. The snow was so deep it came up to Fireball's knees, so moving wasn't very easy. After two minutes of fighting his way through the snow, he saw that he was on the edge of a small hill. Looking beyond it, he saw a frozen lake, but what his eyes caught site of even quicker was a color that didn't match the white snow. Purple...? All he could see was a purple figure down the hill. He was just about to fly down there to see what it was, but before he could, he slipped and started rolling down the hill, taking a load of snow with him as he yelled. "AHHHH!!!" When he finally hit the hill's end, he was immediately buried in the pile of snow that had gone downhill with him. "I officially hate snow..." He thought angrily as he poked his head out and gasped in shock. Standing over him was a light colored purple dragon with yellow horns and stomach, pink wings, pink eyes, and a beautiful necklace with blue diamonds, the very same miniature braces on the legs and tail. She was looking at Fireball with this weird expression on her face. Like a mix of boredom and relief. "Well. It's about time you woke up. For a while there I was thinking you were really dead." She spoke. Fireball stared at her for several moments. She was a purple dragon? His parents had told him stories of the rare breed, but he had never heard about an actual one, and of course he had never seen one before. Finally, he snapped out of it and replied, "Y-yes, I am. Thank you for what you did." The purple dragoness smiled at him. "It's no problem! I mean, I couldn't just leave you out there. Anyway, I guess we need to introduce ourselves properly. My name's Hope." She said happily. Fireball smiled back. "Name's Fireball. Nice to meet you." Hope took Fireball back to the cave where they ate (deer.) Fireball explained to her why he was out there, everything. How he helped both of his cousins get away by covering any tracks they left and giving fake directions to their parents, and how their parents threatened to kill his mom and dad if he didn't go out into the forest to find one of their daughters, Sally, pretending to not even care about Wanderist. "Gee, some parents, huh?" "Yeah. The sad thing is... my parents are probably already dead." Hope stared at her new friend sadly, wondering what to say. He was right. They were probably dead by now. There was no way that would have kept their word. "Well, either way, no point in going home... right?" "No...why?" Hope smiled softly. "We can go find your cousins. They sound like they have a heroic life ahead of them, so why not give them a hand?" Fireball thought about it for a moment. She was right, no point in going home. If his parents are alive, going back would only get them killed, if they were dead, going back would just be even more depressing. So... he may as well go forward, right? "Wait... you really wanna come with me? Don't you live here? I mean, I don't wanna drag you from here if you like it-" "Do I WANT to come with you?! Fireball, I've GOTTA go with you! I've been needing adventure from this gloomy place for years! I never wanted to live here, I was just... hiding." "Hiding? From who?" "The very people you speak of. Your aunt and uncle." Fireball's eyes widen. "Couldn't you have gone to the village on the other side?" Hope shook her head. "That village hates dragons." "I see.... so you really want to come then, huh?" Hope just nodded, smiling. "So, I guess we're a team now, eh?" He said, smiling back. TBC... |

AHHH!!! Completely forgot about this! Sorry folks! Probably because it seems nobody read it... but I want to get back to this, so I'll post anyway. Sorry for double post, but nobody will even know it's here if I just edit.
Chapter 6: The Village of Dragon Haters "Fireball, do we HAVE to go there? Those cheetahs hate us dragons!" Hope whined as she and Fireball flew above the forest. "Yes, Hope. Maybe at least one cheetah there will be kind and help us. Besides, Wanderist and Sally probably didn't know about the village and ran right into it, so I'm sure they've been there already, so it's the best place to try to find which way to go." Fireball explained simply. "But we could be killed!" "Oh, come on, Hope, I'm sure they're not THAT bad." "Right...sure..." Hope muttered in a defeated tone. Fireball and Hope landed right outside the forest and looked across the frozen river. There was a frozen waterfall nearby as well, which lead all the way up to a cave. "Well... here it is. Twilight Falls." Fireball said, more to himself then to Hope. "Okay, so, where is this village?" Hope sighed and pointed across the river. "If you weren't so busy looking at the river, you'd see it was right across." Sure enough, there was a small fence like wall with small buildings across the river. Looking closely, the two dragons could see the cheetahs walking around. "Fireball, are you sure about this?" Hope asked in a bit of a worried tone. "Aw, what's wrong, Hope? Ya scared?" Fireball teased, laughing. "No! Of course not! Now, if you're sure, then let's go!" Hope snapped back, already taking off across the river to the spot of land that the village stood on, Fireball following. "Look!" One cheetah yelled, pointing up to Fireball and Hope as they approached. "Dragons!" Another yelled. "Get the arrows!" "Hold on,everyone!" Fireball yelled as he landed in front of the fence, making sure not to actually go inside. "We just want to talk!" "There's nothing to talk about! We don't want anything to do with you destructive things of madness!" "Destructive things of madness?" Hope echoed as she landed next to Fireball. "That's rude, especially considering you don't even know who we are. And...can't you come up with a better insult?" "Shut up! Dragons are dragons!" Another cheetah screeched. "All right, have you ever actually gotten to know a dragon?" Hope asked. "That's enough, Hope. We don't need to tick them off." Fireball ordered. "Fine." Hope muttered. "What do you want here?!" A larger male cheetah asked angrily as he walked outside the fence where the fence was. "Leader! Don't get so close, they could hurt you!" A cheetah yelled from the top of the fence. "You're the leader?" Fireball asked the cheetah. "Of course! Now leave!" "But wait! We came here for information! Please help us!" "No! No dragon is deserving of our help!" "We just need to ask you a question. Just answer it." Hope said in a bit of a forceful tone. Before the leader could respond, Fireball went on. "Have you seen a white dragon come by here, or a black and yellow one?" He asked. The leader let out a defeated sigh and thought for a moment. "Yes, now that I think about it. The other day, a white dragon with pink wings came flying through here. We tried to shoot her down, but she was too fast. Then, the next day, yesterday, a black, green, and yellow dragon came through. Are they who you're looking for?" He replied grumpy. Fireball's eyes had already gone wide and he had gotten exited. "Really?! Do you remember which way they went?!" "Well....I think they went south-" "Thank you!" Fireball yelled happily, taking off. "Come on, Hope!" "W-Wait, Fireball!" Hope called after him as she also took off, surprised by his sudden excitement. "Leader, should we shoot them down?" A cheetah asked, an arrow already in hand. "Nah. Leave those two alone, we wouldn't be able to hit them, anyway." The leader replied tiredly as he walked back to his own small hut. "So, those two dragons that cheetah mentioned...you're SURE their your cousins?" "Absolutely. Wanderist is the only white dragon you'll ever find, and Sally's colors aren't all that common, either. Their unique. So, yes, I know it's them." "Okay, so we know we're going south...for now. But then what?" "I'm not sure." Fireball stated honestly. "Great..." Hope muttered. TBC... |

Chapter 7: Ice
(Ice is a character belonging to Kirbyrules who is like, obsessed with Hope. In our fun rps, he actually causes trouble. But in this story, he will be there to entertain. ) Meanwhile... "I'm so bored..." The ice blue male dragon groaned, rolling over on his back to stare at the sky. "I can't believe I'm stranded in this stupid piece of-" He was cut off when he saw two dragons fly right over him. "Huh? Who're they?" He asked himself as he got up. He caught a glimpse of one of them. A purple one. "Wow. She's beautiful..." He said to himself. "Um, excuse me!" He called, but they where now too far ahead to see or hear him. "Dang...I'll have to catch up." And with that, the young male flew off after them. "Hey, wait up!" No answer. "HEY!!!!" Fireball and Hope had finally reached an island. It was covered with ice and snow. "I-I-It's so c-c-cold out h-here!" Hope complained. "Don't worry, once we find a cave, I'll light a fire and-" "HEEEEEEYYY!!!!" The sudden yell caught Fireball off guard and he lost control. "Fireball!" He heard his comrade yell before he crashed into the snow. "Ow...that freaking hurt..." Fireball groaned. "Fireball! Are you alright?!" Hope asked as she landed next to him. "Yeah. I'm fine." "Is everything alright?" Another voice asked. The two dragons turned around to see a blue dragon behind them. "Who are you?" Hope asked. "My name is Ice. It's a pleasure to meet you. And you are?" Ice replied, without even looking at Fireball. "Um... I'm Hope. And this here is Fireball." Hope replied, pointing to Fireball. "Hope? That's a nice name." Ice said, walking closer to Hope. "Oh no! Not another moron who wants to love up on me! NO!" Hope screamed in her mind. She tried to ignore Ice and turned back to Fireball. "Are you sure you're alright?" She asked. "Yeah. And it's nice to meet you, Ice." "Right." Ice groaned, disappointing that Hope was ignoring him. "Well! We'd better get going! Come on, Fireball, off we go!" Hope said in a cheerful tone, hoping that Fireball would agree so they could get away from Ice. "W-What?! Where are you going?" Ice asked. "Away from here-" "We're looking for shelter for the night. Can you show us where we can find that?" Fireball cut in. "If I show you... can I come with you on wherever you're going?" Ice replied, wanting to spend time with his new purple "friend." "Don't do it, Fireball! I don't like him, he's insane!" Hope whispered. "Don't worry about it. He seems kind." Fireball replied. "Alright, Ice, you can come. Now please lead us to shelter. We'll explain what we're doing later." TBC... |
