This is my first Spyro Fanfic. It takes place a few years after the fall of the Dark Master. Spyro and Cynder are now parents and have kids of their own. But, peace in the dragon realms does not last long, for a new enemy, one worse than the Dark Master himself will soon arive.

[Rated PG-13 for peril and fantacy violence]

(Sorta a spin-off of my other fanfic 'End of All Hope')

And now, let the story begin...

Prologue

Avalar has been peaceful ever since the defeat of the Dark Master, Malafor by the legendary 'Heroes of Avalar' Spyro and Cynder.

It has been 6 years since then and now a new legend is about to be made.

One that includes an even greater evil then Malafor himself...


Several young dragons ran about Warfang, The Dragon City. Many others, mostly the older ones were at the Dragon Temple or scattered about, training and practicing their elemental attacks.

One dragon in paticular wandered through the city, happily enjoying her walk. Her purple scales and rainbow wing-membrane shone in the sunlight. Her name, Heather.

Heather was the middle child in a familly of three children. Her parents were said to be 'famous', everyone seemed to know who they were. Even travelers did.

As Heather walked the streets she heard several other dragons talking about her. Something about her being the 'next Purple Dragon'.

Heather didn't pay attention to these comments, she ignored them thinking they were just rumors and silly stories.

However, she should have listened to these comments the dragons had made. It would have been usefull for when 'They' came to Warfang.


Meanwhile far away from the Dragon City three dragons were running at full speed. Several shouts came from close behind.

"Don't let them catch you!" The first one, obviously male, yelled.

Before he could take another step a net fell on top of him. "Wave!" the second dragon, a female, yelled before suffeing the same fate.

The third dragon, a young one stood frozen in fear as her parents fell. "Mommy! Daddy!" she cried.

Several creatures neared the trio. "Run Aurora! NOW!" The female dragon yelled "Get out of here, we'll be fine!"

The young dragoness, Aurora, turned and ran. She dived into the shadow of a tree and was gone without a trace.

"Be safe..." the male dragon, Wave, said as the world started to go black "We're counting on you...." the female finished.

With that the two adult dragons slid into unconsciousness.

Chapter 1

The next day Heather opened her eyes, she was still tired.

“Heather get up!” A voice called “It’s morning!”

Heather groaned “I’m coming…” she yawned getting up.

Heather lived at the Dragon Temple in Warfang, the Dragon City.

As she walked through the hallways of the Temple her younger brother, Ian, ran up to her.

“Hiya sis!” He yelled happily “Where you off to?”

“I’m going to the garden to practice my elements” Heather responded

"ok!" Ian cheered happily, “seeya sis!” he finished darting off.

As heather walked through the garden outside the temple she heard a voice come from behind her “Hey! Heather!”

Heather turned around to see a pink dragoness behind her, her closest friend.

“Hi Hope” Heather said greeting the dragoness, now known as Hope.

"I'm going to practice my elements." Heather continued, "you want to help each other?"

"Sure!" Hope replied before the duo took off.

"Sir, we have captured them. The legendary Aura and Shadow dragons." a shadowed figure said to another.

"And the third one?" The second figure questioned.

"No sir." The first figure replied, "She got away I'm afraid."

"No matter" The second figure said, "she's a child after all, a useless weakling."

The shadowed figure stopped before speaking again.

"The Aura and Shadow ones are enough for now. They will be very useful to my plan."

Heather and Hope panted as they walked back to the temple, tired from elemental training.

"Ugh..." Heather groaned, a dizzy feeling came to her.

“You ok Heather?” Hope’s familiar voice said.

“Huh? Yeah, I’m fine” Heather replied, snapping out of her trance.

Suddenly, someone yelled from nearby “Leave me alone!” they yelled. A cry of pain followed.

“Who was that?!” Hope asked in surprise. “I’m not sure but whoever it was is probably in trouble!” Heather replied racing the direction where the voice came from.

“Hey!” Hope yelled darting after her “Wait for me!”

The duo ran until they came to a dead stop before the sight in front of them.

On the ground was a Fire Dragon. Standing in front of him was a Shadow Dragoness, it's left paw holding him down.

The shadow dragoness' scales were half a light navy blue and purple as well as black; its eyes were red and it’s wings were tipped with scythes.

The dragon was panting in both anger and fatigue.
It also, had tears in its eyes.

“Who are you?” Heather asked, "are you alright?"

The shadow dragoness looked up and spoke, “Stay away from me…” it said, it’s voice was female.

The dragon turned and bolted, releasing the fire dragon who quickly fled as well.

“What was that about?” Hope asked.

“I don’t know” Heather said looking the way the dragoness had gone.

Later, Heather and Hope left the temple and into the streets of Warfang where they saw the Shadow Dragoness from earlier was cornered by an Electric Dragon

The Shadow Dragoness was growling “Leave me alone?!” She growled with anger in her voice.

“What are you going to do about it you little Demon?” The other dragon asked.

Before the older dragon could attack the Shadow Dragoness vanished and appeared behind her opponent before she launched a shadow beam of light at it.

She heard a shout of pain from the Electric Dragon as he fell to the ground.

The Shadow Dragon stood there above him, her eyes pure white, shadows swarmed around her as a dark sphere appeared between her front paws.

Before she could attack she was held back.

“What the?” She said; her voice slightly distorted. Turning her head to Hope she saw that she was being restrained by her Psychic abilities.

“Let me go!” The Dragoness said. She stopped talking as I froze her maw shut.

The Shadow Dragon soon broke free from Hope’s grip as she let her go before running off, her scales normal again.

“What’s with her?” Heather asked “How should I know?” Hope replied.

“Well I should get back to Mom and Dad” Heather said, “Goodbye Hope.”

Chapter 2

“Mom, dad, I'm back.” Heather said as she entered a room in the temple.

“Wellcome back Heather,” someone said.

A dragon, a Purple one with yellow spikes and underbelly, entered the room.

A black dragoness followed, she had nine horns on her head and a dark pink underbelly.

These two dragons were well known, the purple one was named Spyro and the black one was Cynder.

“So Heather, how was training today” Cynder asked.

“It was fine” Heather said, not wantting to mention the young shadow dragoness she and Hope had seen.

“Yay Heather’s home!” Ian yelled leaping at his sister and tackling her to the ground.

Kyle, a teen earth dragon, followed “Ian you can stop crushing her now” he said.

“Oops” Ian said getting off “Sorry sis.”

Heather yawned and walked over to her bed, "I'm tired now... good night" she said collapsing on top of it.

“You two should get to bed as well” Spyro said to Kyle and Ian.

“But dad…” Ian began .

“no ‘buts’ you two.” Cynder said, “you’re father is right.”

Ian and Kyle groaned and reluctantly went over to their beds before falling asleep.


Later that night, while Heather and her siblings were asleep, Spyro and Cynder stood outside.

“I’m telling you Spyro you have nothing to worry about.” Cynder said, “Malefor is gone, you know that.”

Spyro sighed “I guess you’re right Cynder” he said “but I just have a feeling that we aren’t safe. Not yet.”

"You won't get away with this!" A dragoness said from her chained position.

"We won't let you!" A dragon finished.

"Oh I will," a figure said, "there's nothing you can do to stop me!"

"Just wait and see you monster! You'll get what you deserve!"
------

The next morning, Heather walked through the streets of Warfang, Ian walking by her side.

"Hope said she'd meet me here." Heather said looking around for any signs of the psychic dragon.

Ian froze in his tracks, getting his sister's attention.

"Ian what is it?" Heather asked.

Her question was soon answered as Hope and a few other dragons ran towards her and Ian, fear in their eyes.

"Hope what in the name of our ansestors is going on?!" Heather asked as Hope stopped in front of her. The other dragons just ran by.

Hope took off after speaking, flying towards the temple.

"c'mon Ian!" Heather called, taking off affter Hope.

Heather arived at the temple with Hope and Ian to see that the Guardians and some older dragons had already been warned.

"I'll stay and keep the other dragons safe" Kyle said to Spyro and Cynder.

"Alright Kyle, we're counting on you." Cynder replied before taking off along with Spyro.

Heather flew up to the rooftop of the Temple where Hope and a few of the other dragons that stayed behind were; trying to see what was going on.

Once on top she turned towards the place in Warfang where the older dragons had gone.

She completely regreted it, as the scene below made her eyes fill with fear.

Spyro and Cynder were cornered against a wall by two bipedal creatures.

“Who are you?!” Spyro growled at one of the strange creatures in front of him.

The creature smirked “Who I am is none of your consern.” It said in an evil voice.

Spyro yelled in pain as something hit his back, making him collapse on the ground.

“Spyro!” Cynder shouted charging at the figure that had hurt her mate.

Something sharp stabbed her neck. Her vision began to blur and she fell to the ground, unconscious.

“Cynder no!” Spyro yelled as he struggled to stand.

"Not so fast dragon" the second bipedal creature said throwing something at Spyro.

Spyro dodged the object and charged, only to be stabbed in the back by something.

He, like Cynder, passed out.

“Take them away!” the first creature said to the second one.

As Spyro and Cynder were dragged off somewhere the first creature smirked in satisfaction.

“Soon” it began “I can control this world and everything in it.”

Heres a new chapter

Chapter 3


Heather could only stare in horror at the scene below; the dragons who had gone to fight fell, one-by-one as the bipeadal creatures used strange, unknown objects on them.

Hope had long turned away from the scene, unable to watch the feild get stained by the blood of dragons.

Heather saw a teen ice dragon lunge at the nearest of the creatures, fangs bared.

The dragon couldn't react quickly enough as the creature turned around and hit it with a large blade.

The dragon’s cry of pain could be heard all the way from the temple, every dragon could hear it.

Heather turned around as the life faded from the dragon's eyes, it collapsed on the ground, dead.

“Th-that thing..." a young Earth dragon began, “that thing killed it!”

Kyle growled quietly “Those monsters!” He said in a sickening tone.

“Ugh...” Spyro groaned as he awoke, “My head is pounding.”

“Spyro you're alive!” Cynder’s familiar voice came from next to him.

“Cynder!” Spyro shouted turning to his mate.

"Where are we?" He asked.

"I-I don't know but... I-I'm scared Spyro" Cynder replied, trembling.

"Don't worry Cynder." Spyro asured nuzzling his mate "We'll make it through this. We've been through worse."

“What were those creatures anyway?” Cynder, now calmed a bit, asked aloud, thinking she and Spyro were alone.

A reply came from someone nearby, “They are called...humans.”

Short chapter but at least you know what the mysterious creatures were. (If some of you hadn't guessed that already)

[I hadn't seen any Spyro fanfics that featured humans as villains so I decited to do it ]

Very good story.

One of my fan-fics is about humans invading Avalar, but it's on hold becuase I can't write new chapters for it. That's okay though.

Chapter 4


Spyro and Cynder turned to see a dragoness standing not to far away.

She was a light blue color on the front half of her body and black on the other. She had black spikes that had tan frills leading from her head to her tail, which had a black arrowhead tail-tip. Her face had a white heart shape on it and part of her legs and muzzle were yellow.

“Humans?” Cynder asked the dragoness “what are they?”

“Humans” The dragoness began “Are cruel, merciless, and greedy creatures. They care about no one but themselves.”

“But, why would they come here?” Spyro asked “or better yet, how did they get here?”

“My only guess as to why they came is to gain control of our world.” The dragoness replied.

“As for how they got here, I am not sure.”

“Who are you?” Spyro asked.

“My name, Spyro, Cynder, is Marie.”

“Marie...” Spyro repeated, registering the dragon’s name to memory.

"How do you know our names?" Cynder asked.

"Everyone knows of the 'Heroes of Avalar'." Marie replied.

"Now that we know each other," Spyro began "Lets bust out of this prison!"

Marie stopped him "it's no use Spyro," she said, "you see these things around our necks?"

Spyro looked down to see a black chain-like object around his neck, just like Marie had said.

"These things are made from dark crystals, they prevent us from using our elements."

"So we can't use our elements Marie?" Cynder asked.

"Sadly, no. We can still use our abilities." Marie turned to Spyro, "Dragon Time does not work however."

"Great..." Spyro growled quietly.

“Now, you wonder how I know everything about humans and whatnot correct?” Marie asked.

Spyro and Cynder nodded.

“I have studied about them and have been prisoner of these humans for while now; trying to escape with my mate, Wave. The only member of my family that has not been caught by humans yet is my daughter Aurora who escaped capture. Aurora is a shadow dragon, like my mate, but she also knows the water element and the aura element which I know as well.”

“Aura?” Cynder asked “I’ve never heard of such an element before. Nor have I heard of the word.”

“Aura is the living force that is said to be inside all creatures." Marie explained "If you die you have no aura. Only certain creatures can sense it.”

“Are you one of them?” Spyro questioned.

Marie nodded “Yes. I’d show you my powers if I didn’t have this wretched thing on me.”

"Is there any way we can get these off?" Cynder asked.

"Nope, only the humans themselves can do it."

"Well what if we..." Spyro was cut off as footsteps could be heard.

'It's a human,' he heard Marie say telepathicaly, 'don't acknowlege it at all.'

Like Marie had said, a human could be seen comming down the stairs leading to the dungeon-like room.

The human unlocked the single cell where Spyro, Cynder, and Marie stood and kicked a dragon into it. Locking the door once more afterwards.

Marie ran to the dragon, Spyro and Cynder following her.

Spyro and Cynder stared in horror at the dragon, its body was covered in large gashes and blood. Due to this, only a few features of the dragon were visible.

It looked like Marie but the front half of its body was dark purple, the other a dark navy blue. It had dark grey spikes down its back with light grey frills. Like Marie it had the white heat shape on its face and the yellow-tipped legs and maw. It's wings and tail had sythes on them.

"Wave! Wave wake up!" Marie cried, nudging the dragon.

The dragon oppened its eyes slightly, revealing their bright red color. They were filled with pain

"Marie..." the dragon, Wave began weakly, "help me..."

With that the dragon slipped into unconsciousness.

Chapter 5


Heather had now turned away from the scene below, hatred filled her mind. Her eyes were glased over in yellow.

She felt like ripping the bipedal creatures apart, a deep growl came from her.

However, before she could do anything more she heard crying, snapping her out of her rage-like trance.

A young shadow dragoness stood not far away, the same shadow dragoness Heather had seen days before.

The dragoness' sobbs drew the attention of many dragons, Heather included.

"Are you alright?" Ian asked in consern.

The dragoness shook her head, "No... my parents were taken by those things days ago..." she said "I miss them."

"It's alright." Heather asured the dragoness, "We'll save them. We'll save everyone!"

------

"Is he going to be alright Marie?!" Spyro asked, looking at Wave.

"He'll be fine." Marie replied, placing her paws slightly above her mate.

Spyro and Cynder could only stare in amazement as Marie's paws glowed a silver blue color; and as Wave's wounds slowly closed up.

Marie collapsed on the ground as Wave's final wound was healed, panting heavily.

"Marie!" Cynder cried, helping the aura dragoness up.

"I'll be fine," Marie said, "I just need to rest. Using that ability uses up my strength."

"Will Wave be ok?" Spyro asked.

As if to answer Spyro's question, Wave's eyes oppened.

"Yeah..." he groaned, "I'll be fine. At least for now."

"Marie, have those... whatever they're called, hurt you before?" Cynder asked.

"No. The need me to stay unharmed. After all, I'm the only dragon that has the ability to heal others."

"However..." Wave continued, smirking, "Sparing Marie gives her a chance to save her energy, and, plan our escape."

"Of course... my plans normaly end up being failures." Marie finished, "It seems as if there is no way to free ourselves from here."

The dragoness had stopped crying and was now looking up at the sky.

"What are you looking at?" Hope asked.

"According to my mother, a solar eclipse will happen not to far from now. However, at this rate, we may never get to see it..."

"Don't speak like that dragoness!" Kyle snapped, "There has to be something we can do!"

The dragoness looked at Kyle and spoke.

"First off," she began, "My name is Aurora. Secondly, I know there's something we can do. We're just running out of time."

"Running out of time?" A water dragoness named Aqua asked, "what do you mean?"

"I didn't get to find out much from my parents before the day we were separated but, I do know one thing: On the day when the moon covers the sun... we will all perish."

Chapter 6

"You're just giving up?!" Spyro asked in shock at Marie's comment.

"I never said that!" She replied, "I was only stating what I have summed up by this point."

A human entered the prison, a different one this time, and tossed a teen fire dragon into the cell, making it slide into a wall.

Sickened by the human's action, Cynder lunged at it, a growl comming from her throat as she opened her maw, she was going to kill this human.

Before Cynder could even sink her teeth into the human's neck something sharp slashed her side, a cracking sound was heard as she cried in pain.

'Spyro, Cynder, remember what I told you. Do NOT attempt to fight the humans. They may kill you if you do. Just followed their orders until we get out of this mess'

Spyro nodded at Marie quickly, signaling that he had heard her before helping Cynder up and following the human.

Once gone Marie went over to the fire dragon, her eyes were filled with sorrow and sympathy as she began to use the same technique she had used on Wave, who was now lying by her side.

After a long moment of silence, Wave spoke.

"Should we tell them Marie?" He asked.

Marie shook her head, "We can tell them some things," she began, "but we should not tell them everything... not yet."

"What do you mean by that?" A red, fire dragon asked.

"Like I said," Aurora began, "I don't know."

"You have no clue at all?" Hope questioned, tilting her head.

"No, if I did I'd tell you."

There was silence for a moment until Heather spoke.

"I think we should get out of here," she said, getting airborne, "If those creatures come this way we'll be in trouble."

The other dragons agreed, taking off after Heather as she flew away from the temple.

"Where exactly are we going to go?" A wind dragon with light grey eyes asked.

"Anywhere but here." Aurora replied

Spyro and Cynder had been thrown back into the prison, Marie was healing the wound on Cynder’s back that she got earlier. She had already healed a gash on Spyro’s front-left leg.

“I can’t believe those guys!” Spyro growled. “They actually killed a child!”

“Like I said…” Marie began as she finished healing Cynder, “…they care about only themselves.”

“We have to get out of here!” A Water dragon said.

“Impossible” Wave replied “Marie and I have tried countless times to escape. We failed every time.”

“All we can do is hope that we can make it out of this.” Cynder sighed.

Yes, before it's too late. Marie added silently.

Chapter 7

The sun had started to set, yet the group continued to fly, wanting to get as far away as possible.

"Where exactly are we going?" Hope asked.

"Well if my memory serves right," Aurora began, "We should be heading towards The Valey of Avalar."

"That gives me an idea." Heather said.

"And what's that Heather?" Ian questioned, flying up to her.

"The Valley of Avalar is that place where the Cheatah village is, right?"

"I see where you're going, Heather. We can get them to help us regain Warfang and any other place that those twoleged things have invaded!"

"Exactly Kyle."

Aurora began to speak, "but will they help us?" she asked.

"Our parents are close friends with the cheatah warriors. They'll be willing to help us."

"It's good to have alies," A electric dragoness said, "It makes things easier. After all, we're only a group of like fifty young and teen dragons verses a group of about two thousand of those whatever they ares."

"So that won't work either, will it?" Spyro asked, it was sunset so the dragons being held captive were now stuck in the cell once more.

"Sadly no." Marie sighed. Spyro, Cynder, and many other dragons, including the guardians, had been planning ways to escape, each one ending in failiure.

"The only way out would most likely be those young dragons that escaped came to fight the humans. I highly doubt that's possible though." Wave explained.

An idea clicked in Cynder's head, "Heather!" She shouted.

"Who's heather?" Marie asked

"Heather is our daughter." Spyro explained, "she's a purple dragon."

"A purple dragon?!" Wave asked in surprise, "aren't they only born every ten generations or something?"

"They are. But for some strange reason Heather was born a purple dragon, even though it hasn't been 10,000 years yet." Cynder replied.

Suddenly, there was the sound of footsteps, making the dragons quiet, and causing Marie, the one who said NOT to acknowledge the humans, to get into a fighting position and growl, Wave following suit.

"Marie what's going..." Spyro began to ask quietly but was cut off by a wave of Marie's paw.

"None of you do anything incredibly stupid ok?" Wave hissed in warning as a human stopped in front of the cell, an evil smirk on his face.

"Kuro!" Marie spat at it.

The group had landed, wings tired from flying.

"It's getting late. I say we rest here for the night." Hope sugjested, collapsing on the ground.

"We're far enough from Warfang and I highly doubt that those twolegs will be out at night." Kyle added.

"Ok, we'll rest here. I'll be able to sence any presence nearby." Aurora said.

Heather was the last to fall asleep, worried about her parents and the others back in Warfang. She also had a feeling, a feeling that there was something she had to do.

Despite these worries Heather managed to fall asleep.

Although, her dream...was no ordinary dream.

Heather awoke in a strange place, slightly scared.

"H-Hello?" She stammered, walking around.

"Welcome young dragon." Someone with a wise and elderly voice said.

"Who's there?!" Heather called, shocked and frightened.

"You need not fear me Heather." The voice came again, "I am only here to help you"

"who are you?""

"I am known as the Chronicler. But you call call me, Ignitus."

"Ok...Ignitus, why am I here and why can't I see you?" Heather questioned, looking around.

"We are running out of time, Heather. It is time for you to wake up."

"Wait! Don't go! I need to know what you want me for!"

"That will be explained when we meet again..."

"C'mon Heather! Wake up!" Hope yelled, shaking the sleeping purple dragoness.

"Huh?" Heather asked, slowly oppening her eyes, "Hope, its still dark out."

"It's not as early as you think Heather." Aurora's familiar voice said from nearby.

Heather stood up to see that the others were awake. "What time is it anyway?" she asked.

"If I have calculated corectly..." Kyle began, "Early enough for us to reach the Cheetah Village by sunrise.

"Alright then." Heather said, yawning, "lets go..."


Meh, another short chapter but its late here. I'll try to post another one tomorrow or something. Anyway, hope you enjoyed that

Chapter 9


Spyro could only stare in shock as the two, once very calm dragons, became fierce.

The look in Marie's eyes could have struck fear into even Malafor. The look in Wave's eyes much worse, showing signs of insanity.

The human, Kuro, was not afraid, in fact, it seemed as if he was enjoying it, a cruel smirk just crosed his face as he spoke.

"You know very well that your fierceness does not phase me." He said, his voice emotionless.

Wave growled and spoke, "YOU'RE A MONSTER KURO!" He snapped, voice begining to distort as he struggled to stay sane.

Kuro only laughed before speaking again "Go ahead Wave, fall into insanity, it'll only make my work easier." Kuro stopped for a minute to turn to Spyro, Cynder, and the Guardians. "As for all of you... try ANYTHING funny and you die!"

With those words stuck in the dragons' heads, Kuro left, leaving all of them in the darkness of the dungeon once more.

"There it is!" Ian cried, pointing to a village in the distance.

"Good. Now to go regain our..."

"No Kyle." Heather inturupted her brother.

"We can't just waltz into Warfang and hope to win. Like Karma said 'It's good to have alies'. Plus, some of us haven't even mastered our elements"

"The training part is kinda easy but WHERE exactly can we get alies other than the Cheatah Warriors?" Hope asked.

"Uh... I haven't gotten that far yet..." Heather replied sheepishly.

"We can think about it after we talk to the Cheetah Tribe." Aurora commented, "one thing at a time."

Wave had calmed down, and was now sleeping peacefully along with the other dragons.

Spyro on the other hand, was not.

Fire, all he could see was fire.

As Spyro ran, avoiding the flames, he noticed that he was in Warfang... everything was destroyed.

"Cynder?! Cynder where are you?!" He cried looking around.

Soon, Spyro was no longer in Warfang, but the Burned Lands, a raging fire behind him.

"Where is everyone?!" He cried out.

"Dead. you failed to protect them." An all-to-familar voice came from beside him.

"MALAFOR!?" Spyro snapped in anger and confusion

"They're dead, look in front of you" Malafor said before laughing evilly.

Spyro looked in front of him in horror.

Before him lie the dead forms of everyone he held close, as well as many others behind them.

"This.. This can't be possible!" He yelled in sorrow as tears ran down his face and onto the ground, "they can't be gone!".

"Oh but they are Spyro." Malafor stated, his pysical form now gone. "Just like Ignitus...

...and now you!"

Spyro oppened his eyes, crying out as the dream ended.

Panting, he realized that he was back in the prison cell, all the dragons sleeping.

Spyro began to close his eyes when he noticed that there was a dragon that had never been here before standing not to far from him.

Looking at the dragon he noticed the tell-tale teal scales and crystal, the Chronicler.

But he looked different this time... he looked familiar.

"Ignitus?" Spyro asked, standing up.

However, when he looked in the direction where his mentor had stood... he was gone.

Spyro layed down once more, eyes filled with tears from both his dream and what he had just seen.

It was just a halusionation from my dream, he thought, closing his eyes, please hurry, Heather...

Chapter 10

"Ok, you all stay here." Heather said to her traveling companions as the stopped a short ways from their desination, "Aurora and I will speak with the Cheatahs."

The dragons reluctantly stayed put, following Heather's orders as she and Aurora walked towards the cheatah village.

As they came to the village entrance, they were spotted.

Three cheatahs came towards them, Heather and Aurora stayed calm.

The Cheatah in front of the other two, obviously the leader stopped before them.

"We do not welcome intruders to our village," he began in a gruff voice, "especialy dragons."

"We do not bring harm to you." Heather began, "I am Heather, daughter of Spyro and Cynder. This dragon with me is my friend, Aurora. We have come for assistance from your tribe."

One of the two cheatahs behind the leader spoke up, "Spyro and Cynder?" He asked in slight shock.

"Yes." Heather replied.

The lead cheatah, at the sound of the names of the two famous heroes, spoke again. "Come." He said, turning back towards the village. Heather and Aurora followed.

Back in te Dragon City, Spyro and Cynder panted heavily as the humans forced them to move a large cart filled with human weapons, Spyro limping as he walked.

"These guys deserve to die!" Spyro growled in anger as he saw a teen ice dragon get beaten.

"They will Spyro." Cynder replied. "I'm sure of it."

By pure luck the duo managed to walk past the human the had encounted the previous night, Kuro. He was speaking with another human.

"Get some of the others to search for any remaining dragons, and see if you can take down any villages."

"Oh no..." Spyro said quietly in shock, "Heather!"

"Don't worry Spyro, Heather is strong. Besides, she has her sibblings, Hope, and that shadow dragon with her.

"I know Cynder." Spyro replied, "But they aren't just going after them, but for other places... like the cheatah tribe."

"Like I said Spyro, they are strong, the humans are no match for them or Heather."

"So, thats the story of why we're here." Aurora finished. She and Heather had just explained the story of what happened.

"So," the leader of the cheatahs, Cheif Prowlus, began, "These strange creatures just came out of nowhere and attacked the Dragon City, captring the citizens in it?"

"Yes." Aurora replied, "We, and 48 other dragons are all that's left. The others are back in Warfang, being used as slaves."

"We fear that the two-leged creatures will soon start to gain control over other places. That includes here." Heather added.

"They have to be stopped. But we can't do that by ourselves. we'd be outnumbered and certainly fail."

"Prowlus," a second cheatah named Hunter began, "If what they say is true, then we should help them."

"FIne."Prowlus said, "we will help you stop these things."

"Thank you." Aurora replied.

Suddenly, Hope landed in the village, fear filled her eyes.

"Hope, what's wrong?" Aurora asked, sensing the fear in the psychic dragon's aura.

"Those things, they're here!"

Chapter 11

Heather and Aurora arrived to the place they had stopped at to find that what Hope was right.

The older teen dragons were fighting to protect the younger ones from harm.

Heather landed swiftly on the ground, swinging her ice covered tail at the nearest opponents.

Aurora dived down at one of the twolegs, her teeth bared and ready to dig into its flesh.

“Take this!” Ian cried, a lightning bolt coming from his maw.

A water dragon collapsed on its side, a deep gash on its leg as a long blade slashed through its scales..

Hope, at the sight, lifted the twolegs off the ground with psychic abilities. Strangling it until its body went limp.

In the end, the battle was won, the dragons victorious.

A few of the dragons had been wounded slightly, but overall, no lives had been lost.

“WHAT?!” Kuro yelled as Wave secretly spied on him from where he stood.

“You’re saying, your entire group was killed by hatchlings?!”

Wave could only smirk in amusement as the heartless human yelled at one of his underlings.

Looks like everything is going well, He thought, perfect.

“I-It wasn’t just normal single element dragons!” The second human stammered, “The young shadow dragoness as well as a purple dragoness were attacking too!”

“A purple dragoness…” Kuro began, “Odd…”
He looked at his underling before speaking once more. “Get the shadow and purple dragoness’, kill the others if you have too! Don’t let those two escape!”

“OWW! Watch it!” One of the wounded dragons cried as Aurora attempted to heal its wounds.

Meanwhile, Heather was talking to the cheetah tribe once more, hope by her side.

“You saw what the twolegs can do to us.” Heather began, “that’s not nearly as bad as what they are doing to those in Warfang.”

As if on cue, Hope closed her eyes, a mental image of the dragons in Warfang getting used as slaves showed from her memory to those around her.

Once Hope was done telepathically showing a scene from her memory, she spoke.

“That is what will happen to everyone if we do not stop these twolegs.” She said.

“However, there are hundreds, maybe thousands of them. We won’t be able to do it with just our alliances with each other. We need more allies. After that, we will come back for help as we head to Warfang.”

“Alright. We will be waiting.”

After the wounded had been healed, the group of dragons took to the skies, heading towards the mountains, looking for more allies.

“Heather is alive?!” Spyro asked in shock and happiness as Wave told them what he had heard.

“Yes, as well as Aurora and many other dragons. It seems like they have been making allies. The cheetah warriors are now on their side.”

“That’s perfect!” Cynder cried, overjoyed, “There is hope for us!”

“I wouldn’t be so sure Cynder.” Marie cut in, “there’s thousands of humans here. A small group of dragons and the cheetahs aren’t enough to take them down.”

“I heard there’s other tribes and villages that would be happy to help.” Dragonfire stated.

“Then our fates rest in the claws of them and the others.” Spyro finished.

Chapter 12


"Remind me again why we're going to the mountains." Ian said as the group continued onwards.

"We're hoping there could be some tribes or cities up here that are willing to help us." Aurora replied, looking around.

A small bird-like dragon lie peacefully on a branch only to be awakened by the sound of wing beats.

The bird-like dragon flew into the air, its physical features now visible.

It had blue scales on its body, but feathered wings and tails; a ‘crown’ of feathers lined its head.

He looked to see a small group of dragons flying towards the village he and his family lived in.

Turning around he flew back home. He had to tell everyone of their possible arrivals.

Aurora stopped and hovered in mid-flight, her eyes now closed.

"Aurora," Hope began, "What are you doing?"

"Using an ability I'm glad to have inherited from my mother." Aurora replied, "The ability to sense the life source of every living creature. Aura"

"Aura?" Ian questioned.

"I'll explain later. Just let me use my ability first.

There was silence as Aurora used her ability, every living thing glowed white in her mind.

She soon caught a strange, unknown Aura.

Turning to the source she noticed a small bird-like dragon flying quickly towards something, it's Aura shinning yellow to Aurora.

Aurora opened her eyes and pointed east. "We need to go that way." She said.

"Why that way?" A small fire dragon asked.

"I saw a small bird-like dragon flying towards something in that direction. Most likely a village of some sort."

"Of course!" Kyle said "Dragonbirds!"

"Dragonbirds?"

"They're a hybrid cross between a dragon and a bird. They are known for their agility and strategies."

"Well then what are we waiting for?" Heather said "lets go."

With that the dragons flew east. Maybe their hopes of saving their home and many other areas from the twolegs were high after all.


The flight was silent as the group flew eastwards, no one spoke.

At least not until Hope broke the silence.

"Aurora," she began, "that ability you used, it's common in only Aura dragons isn't it?"

"Yes. Aura dragons are the only ones known to have the ability to sense Aura and use the Aura element. Well, aside from Silver dragons that are born every four centuries."

"But wait, I thought the Aura dragon species went extinct centuries ago.

"Nope" Aurora replied "Aura dragons can mate with any kind of dragon, shadow and dark dragons included. Of course... that means the offspring could be a hybrid between both elements. The only way to get a pureblood Aura dragon is for two of the said species mate. That's rare though so there are probably about ten to fifteen purebloods alive at this time.

"But if you have Aura abilities... wouldn't that make you an Aura dragon?"

"Correct. But I am not a pureblood Aura dragon. My mother is a pureblood aura dragon, hence my Aura abilities. My mother taught herself the water element to hide that she's a pureblood for some reason. Anyway, my Dad is a shadow and water dragon, hence my shadow and water elements as well as my physical features."

"So in short, you're a hybrid Aura dragon?"

"Yeah."

There was silence once more as Aurora finished telling about her parents and abilities.

Everyone snapped to attention though, as Heather's voice was heard.

"I think I see a village ahead!" She cried.

Everyone looked forwards to see a few medium buildings in the distance, as well as several creatures flying around them.

They had made it at last.

Chapter 13

The small dragonbird flew into a large building, landing in front of two other dragonbirds.

One of them, male, was dark brown, his head pure white. A small scar crossed his right eye.

The other, a female, was red, streaks of blue, yellow, and white could be seen on her wings.

“Jet you’re panting. Is everything alright?” The male eagle dragonbird asked in concern.

“A group of about fifty dragons are headed this way. They don’t seem like a threat though…I think…” the young blue jay dragonbird, known as Jet, replied. “There was a purple dragon in the group so I figured they mean no harm.”

The group landed a short distance away from the village the where the dragonbirds lived.

“So… who should go?” An ice dragon asked, “There’s too many of us, we may scare them if they think we’re enemies.”

“I’ll go.” Hope volunteered. “I can show them Warfang telepathically like I did the Cheetahs

“Heather should go with you.” Aurora suggested, “Just to be on the safe side.”

With that plan in place Heather and Hope took to the skies and towards the village ahead of them.


As the duo landed at the entrance to the village they got suspicious looks from the nearby citizens.

A large dragonbird landed in front of the duo, his feathers were grey; streaks of black and white could be seen on his wings.

“What brings you two dragoness’ to our village?” he asked, voice filled with wisdom and curiosity.

“We are from Warfang, the dragon city. I’m Heather, daughter of Spyro and Cynder. This is my best friend, Hope.”

“We have come for your help.” Hope added to Heather’s reply.

“Help with what?” a voice came from the small group of dragonbirds in the area, “I thought dragons could do anything.”

“I think it’s best to show you than to tell you.” Hope explained, closing her eyes.

Heather watched the expressions of a few dragonbirds change to either shock or fear at the telepathic image Hope was showing them.

“Those monsters attacked Warfang without warning, capturing everyone and using them as their slaves. Only fifty of us, including Heather and myself, are all that’s left.”

“That’s just sickening…” A large, dark blue dragonbird growled from the crowd.

“Exactly. That is why we have come for your help.” Heather explained “We need the agility and strategic minds of your kind. We have the Cheetah Warriors as our only ally… but we’re still outnumbered. There’s probably thousands of those things in Warfang. We’d fail for sure.”

“I shall talk with the rest of the elders about this,” the elderly, starling dragonbird said, “Until then, you and your kin are free to stay here for the time being.”

“Thank you… uh…” Hope stopped, not knowing the elder’s name.

“Aviarus” the dragonbird replied “Guardian of Wind to our kind.”

“Thank you Aviarus.” Hope said again before she turned and took off to grab the others.

Hopefully… hopefully the dragonbird elders will agree to help us. Heather thought as she watched her friend take off.


Yeah, short chapter but meh, I couldn't think of how to continue anymore.

If you're curious, dragonbirds pretty much are/look like bird species yet more dragon like. I'll put up an example eventualy.

Chapter 14


Many dragonbirds had chosen to talk with the small group of dragons. Especially curious hatchlings.

"How long does it take for a dragon to master its element or elements?" A small green dragonbird with a red chest and semi-transparent wings asked quickly as it hovered in the air.

"Well it depends on how confident you are in yourself and how long you practice a day really." Ian said to the hyper dragonbird.

"Is it true that your parents are Spyro and Cynder?" a dragonbird with a black head and a light grey and white body asked Heather.

"Yeah. It's true." Heather replied, enjoying the talks with the hatchlings.

"How many elements can a dragon learn?" another dragonbird with a bright orange body and sleek blue, yellow, and green feathers asked.

"Well... Purple dragons know four elements after hatching. Fire, Electricity, Earth, and Ice. But, like Silver dragons they can know up to 11 elements with practice." Hope answered. "Purple dragons are the only dragons that know the Convexity element. Silver dragons are the only ones that can learn the aura and light elements."

"What about aura dragons? Do they still exist?"

"Purebloods are very rare to see." Aurora began, "Hybrids, like myself, are very plentiful. We can know up to three elements."

"Wow..."

Heather stood up and spoke. "I'm going to take a look around guys. I want to see more of this place.

"Ok Heather" Ian said as his sister left.

Heather walked the streets of the dragonbird village. Realizing how tired she actually was from the trip.

That or the Chronicler wanted to speak to her again.

She turned and made her way back to the group, collapsing on the ground the moment she got there.


She opened her eyes to find herself in the mysterious room where her dreams took place.

"Chronicler? Ignitus? Hello?" She called as she walked around.

"Welcome young dragon." The familiar voice of Ignitus came from nowhere.

"Why do you keep bringing me here? I mean of all dragons in the world... why did you choose me?" Heather asked.

"You are a purple dragon Heather. You are a very special creature."

"Special? I'm just a dragoness that is the child of two dragons that everyone knows well."

"It seems your father hasn't told you yet..." Ignitus said, slightly confused.

"Told me what?"

"Purple dragons Heather are born every ten generations. Yet for some reason you were born a year after the defeat of Malefor, the Dark Master."

"But why was I born so early? If I'm a purple dragon why?"

"The destiny of a purple dragon Heather is to protect the world from any evil."

"Wait, so I was born because the twolegs were going to attack. Does that mean... my destiny is to stop them?

"Correct young dragon. We will talk later. It is time for you to wake up."


Heather's eyes slowly opened revealing the faces of a young blue jay dragonbird and Aurora.

Standing up quickly from surprise Heather looked around. the others had obviously parted ways to explore the village streets.

"It's about time you woke up Heather" Aurora said calmly. The others have left to wander about the village. Jet here has been waiting for you to wake up."

"How long was I out?"

"About ten minutes"

"Wow, it felt like five"

"Sleeping will do that to ya"

"This talk is going nowhere isn't it?"

"Pretty much"

The trio went silent until Aurora spoke.

"Come on. We only have a few more hours until dark. We should check this place out as much as we can."

"Sounds good to me" Heather replied.

"I'll show you around!" Jet chirped taking off.

"Hey wait up!" The pair of dragonesses cried running after him.

Heather was deep in thought as she ran. What she had heard in her short dream still filled her mind.

Was she really that special? Was she really supposed to save the world? And what hadn't her parents told her?

I've been enjoying this story from the begining. Shame you don't update it often.

One question though: Why was Heather never told of her destiny?

Chapter 15


As Jet showed the duo around the town the thoughts of what she had heard rang through Heather’s head.

She snapped back to attention as a large temple-like building came into view.

Heather and Aurora could only stare in awe at the paintings that covered the walls.

“Those paintings show the legend of the Dragonbird race.” Jet explained. They are painted on the temple for all to see.”

“If you don’t mind me asking… what elements can Dragonbirds learn?”

“We can learn up to three elements. One of which we know at birth. Wind. The other elements are everything but poison, fear, life, shadow, aura, and convexity.”


Eventually, all the dragons met up near the temple as Aviarus and five other Dragonbirds landed in front of them.

“Hello Aviarus.” Aurora greeted as the wise starling-Dragonbird landed.

“Hello young one.”

“Those other Dragonbirds are the other guardians.” Jet whispered to Heather as he stood perched on her horns.

“I’d like you to meet my fellow guardians.” Aviarus began.

A red dragonbird with black spots on his wings stepped forwards.

“I am Inferno. Guardian of Fire.” He said.

Another stepped up. His feathers were dark green and yellow, his head a light grey.

“Keith. Guardian of Earth.” He said.

“Jolt. Guardian of Electricity.” A light yellow Dragonbird with a crest that constantly rose and fell.

“I am Blizzard” a female white dragonbird cooed, “Guardian of Ice.”

“And lastly, I am Aquarius.” A dark blue dragonbird with a white face and orange chest-stripe said, “Guardian of Water.”

Aviarus spoke again once the five other Guardians finished.

“We’ve decided to help you rebel against those evil creatures. We understand that if we don’t fight… we will perish.”

“Thank you Aviarus” Heather said gratefully to the wind guardian before her. “When we gain a few more allies we will return here and tell you that we’re ready.”

The cell was quiet as the last of the dragons were locked up.

Marie had begun helping the wounded ever since the dragons were locked up for the night.

Spyro had begun to explain he nightmare he had been having every night to Marie, Wave, and Cynder.

“So we’re all dead, the world is destroyed, And Malefor shows up and kills you?” Cynder questioned as she listened.

“Yeah. And when I when I wake up I see Ignitus but he looks like the chronicler… I don’t know if I’m hallucinating, seeing a ghost, or if he’s really there.”

“Mysterious. A very unusual thing to hear happen.” Wave said.

“I know. It doesn’t make any sense at all.”

“I’ll see if I can figure something out about this.” Marie said, “right now, get some sleep.”

Heather lie in a bed of grass and moss, wide awake.

So far we’re doing well in gathering allies but… how much time do we have before the twolegs are unstoppable?

And that eclipse Aurora mentioned. What’s so bad about it? When will it come?

Heather sighed and looked at the stars outside the window nearby.

“Hopefully we can do this. Hopefully we can succeed.”

Chapter 16

Once more dreams haunted Spyro’s mind.

He was back in Warfang, the buildings all destroyed.

The fire that was supposed to be burning the ruins was frozen in place, now grayscale.

Looking around he noticed that several pieces of buildings were suspended in air, unmoving and grayscale as well.

Then pain hit him, he cried in agony as his head began to hurt.

Collapsing to the ground he held his head.

He looked up to see that the sun was covered by the moons; an eclipse.

However, like most eclipses the moons would move across the sun, in this one, however, the moons weren’t moving at all, they just stayed over the sun.

“Hello Spyro.” Cynder’s voice came from behind him.

“Cynder!” He cried turning around, “I’m…”

The purple dragon stopped as he looked at Cynder, her eyes were glowing yellow.

He’d only seen her once like this… back when she was under the control of Malefor.

“Cynder, no!” he yelled as the dragoness neared him, “Cynder snap out of it!”

Cynder just laughed, her voice filled with malice and insanity.
“Don’t you see Spyro? It was you who made me like this.” She said.

“No! Malefor is the only one who could do this to you!”

“Malefor is dead, you are the one responsible for this Spyro.”

“Cynder…”

“Say goodbye Spyro!”

With that Cynder lunged at him, sinking her fangs into his neck.

Again Spyro jolted awake, panting.

“What was that about?” He asked quietly, “What was going on?”

Aurora was asleep in the building she and her fellow dragons were staying in the Dragonbird village. Tossing and turning.

She saw the twolegs attacking her mother, father, and many other dragons as an eclipse ended.

One of the twolegs laughed as the dragons lie in pain as the other twolegs attacked them.

Aurora couldn’t help them; she was chained to the floor, purposely supposed to witness the death of her parents and many other dragons.

She opened her eyes quickly to escape the dream, shaking her head in attempt to get rid of it.

She looked out on the balcony of the building; the familiar aura of Heather could be sensed there.

Aurora stood up, walking out onto the balcony to accompany the purple dragoness.

“Can’t sleep?” She asked as she stepped outside.

“Not really Aurora.” Heather replied, “I’m scared and confused.”

“About what?”

“Well I’m scared about the fact that we might loose to the twolegs. I’m confused about these things a dragon that visits my dreams sometimes says to me.”

“We’re probably all scared Heather. It is not just you.”

“I guess but what about the dragon in my dreams?”

“Only you can figure out what you’re told Heather.”

“I guess.”

“Come on, we’re going to need sleep if we are to leave tomorrow.”

“I guess you’re right Aurora.”

Heather followed the young dragoness back into the room where the other dragons were sleeping, falling asleep as soon as she lay down.

Ok Ignitus she thought, I’m ready to find out what you mean.

As she finished her thought the darkness she could see faded into the room she knew of.
“Ignitus?” Heather said as she looked around the room.

“Hello young dragon.” Ignitus’ voice came in response.

“You said that it’s my destiny was to save the world… but why hadn’t my parents told me this? If they knew I was so special… why didn’t they?”

“I believe they were afraid to let you get harmed. Because of this they never told you.”

“If they had told me I could have stopped the twolegs earlier.”

“You should not believe that you can do everything alone Heather, you would need allies; weather you could face them alone… or along side someone.”

“I see what you’re saying Ignitus. But a friend of mine, a hybrid aura dragon, said that an eclipse would be coming soon, an eclipse that would make us perish at the mercy of the twolegs.”

“Do not fear this eclipse just yet Heather. It is a ways away from its beginning.”

“Ok, Ignitus. I won’t.”

“Alright young dragon, it is time for you to wake up.

“Rise and shine Heather!” Hope called nudging the said dragoness.

“Alright, alright, I’m up.” Heather groaned getting to her feet.

“We’re going to head out. Avarius said there’s another clan not to far from here so come on.


“Well, I guess this is goodbye.” Ian said to the many dragonbirds that came to watch the group leave.

“We wish you luck on your journey to find the other clans.” Inferno said.

“Thank you.” Aurora replied, “We promise to return once we are ready to attack and regain what is rightfully ours. The Dragon Realms.”

With that, she and the other dragons took off into the air, heading deeper into the mountains before them.


“So what is this clan Avarius mentioned?” Heather asked.

“If I recall correctly… it’s the Phoenix Clan.”

“Phoenixes? Aren’t those the birds that have the ability to heal?”

“Correct. Although they can heal others, they can use the element of fire. Some phoenixes, however, can use elements like Ice, Wind, and Psychic. These kinds are very rare.”

“I see. But will they want to help us?”

“Despite their isolated and gentle natures, they will fight if they feel if it is necessary.”

“But what if they don’t want to help? What then?”

“We look for another tribe or clan.”

“Some of the phoenixes may want to help us… but only heal our wounded.”
“I see.”

“How much longer do you think it will be until we reach the clan?” Hope asked.

“I think as soon as we pass over that cliff there we’ll be at the…”

Aurora stopped as a shriek was heard behind the cliff; followed by a blast of fire and more battle sounds.

“I hope what’s going on isn’t what I think is.” Kyle said.

“Come on!” Heather called as she sped up, the others following suit.

The group hovered above the edge of the cliff, below them was exactly what they feared…

The phoenix clan was being attacked by none other then the twolegs themselves.

Spyro's dream is interesting. Is this maybe what Malefor was talking about in DoTD when he said Spyro's destiny was to destroy the world? Or is it something else? I'll just have to wait and see.

Chapter 17


The twolegs had destroyed some of the Phoenix clan’s village. Several bodies, both phoenix and twoleg scattered the ground; weather they were dead or alive was unknown.

A sharp spear was seen stabbing a fallen phoenix, making life fade from its eyes.

At this a large, white phoenix dug its talons into the twoleg that had killed and threw it into the mountain where it collapsed motionless.

The group had noticed that the phoenixes were being overpowered and would sure fall.

Heather landed on the battlefield and launched ear-splitting sound waves at the nearest twolegs, causing them pain.

She looked around to see that the others had followed and had now joined the battle as well, attacks flying across the field.

Ian has formed a sphere of electricity around him and launched the discharge at the nearest opponents.

As he stopped to regain power a twoleg ran at him, swinging the blade in its hand in attempt to slice though the electric dragon’s scales.

“Ian look out!!” Aurora called before diving into the shadows and emerging under Ian’s attacker, paralyzing it long enough for a large thunder bolt to hit and kill it.

A light red dragon lunged at a twoleg, claw enveloped in flames.

However, before it could rake its claws across the twoleg a wave of pain went down its back

The dragon collapsed on the ground in a pool of its blood, a knife sticking out of its back.

Hope flung a twoleg into the mountain, causing a sickening crack.

As another threw a spear she caught it in a psychic grip and threw it aside, tackling the twoleg into the nearby river.

Heather and Aurora stood side-by-side, both facing different directions as they looked at the enemies around them.

"I hope you have some sort of plan." Heather said as the twolegs closed in.

Aurora nodded, "follow my lead with your electric breath." she said before unleashing a stream of water from her maw, making sure to soak each enemy.

Of course! Water conducts electricity! Heather thought as she caught on to Aurora's plan.

Surrounding herself in electricity, Heather shot the discharge at the now soaked twolegs, electrocuting all of them until they fell limp.

The twolegs had by now either fled or been killed; a large fire orange phoenix had landed nearby the group of dragons.

“We thank you for your help dragons” it said looking at each one of them.

“It was no problem at all” Heather replied to the large bird in front of her.

“Both phoenixes and dragons alike made great sacrifices today” Hope said from nearby; sorrow filled her eyes as she looked towards the many wounded phoenixes and dragons nearby.

Aurora approached Heather and Hope, having now finished tending the wounded.
“How many did we loose?” Heather asked painfully as she feared the worst.

“Of us dragons… we lost five, leaving our group now at forty five.”

“How many phoenixes?”

“We lost ten... these twolegs… they were more powerful than the last group.”

There was silence.

“If you don’t mind dragonesses… could you explain what those things were?” The orange phoenix, who they forgot was there, asked.

“They are a group of monsters that have already invaded and taken control of Warfang and probably many other areas.” Heather began.

“They attack without mercy and they forced everyone that hadn’t escaped the city to be their slaves.” Aurora added, “Only fifty…now forty five dragons, including us, are all that are left. We are trying to gather allies to fight these monsters and take back everything that belongs to all of those in this realm.”

“That is why we came to you. You don’t have too but… would you be willing to fight by our sides in the war?” Hope finished.

The phoenix thought about it and shook his head. “I am sorry, but we cannot loose any more of our kind. There are few of us already.”

“I understand” Heather replied, “We’ll leave tomorrow morning after our wounded have rested.”

“Now wait a minute dragoness. We may not be able to fight by your sides… but we can heal those that get wounded in battle.”

“So you’ll help us?”

“Yes but only to aid if you are wounded.”

“That’s fine with us, we don’t want you to put yourselves in any danger.”

“Thank you.”

Wave tossed around as he rested on the ground of the prison; dreams and memories haunting his mind.

Many shadows had surrounded him, making him cry in pain as they seeped through his blue and aqua scales, turning them darker.

They threatened to take away all his sanity, all that he loved. He fought that erge to give in to them, only making his pain worse.

He began to tire himself, allowing the darkness to corrupt his mind.

The memory faded as he snapped awake, panting, making a few of the other dragons look at him.

Spyro, one of the ones left in the cell for now approached the shadow dragon. Marie, who was always in the cell, followed.

“Wave are you alright?” Spyro questioned as he noticed the fear in the shadow dragon’s eyes.

“It… it’s nothing you need to worry about… just please, leave me alone.”

“What? Wave you shouldn’t…”

“I SAID LEAVE ME ALONE!" Wave roared, his voice distorting like before.

Spyro backed away, realizing it would probably be best if he followed Wave’s request.

Night had fallen; all other dragons were asleep, only two were awake.

“Oh Marie” Wave began, tears in is eyes, “what am I going to do? This captivity and anger is going to…”

“It’ll be alright Wave, just stay calm and don’t let your anger do ‘that’ to you.”

Wave sighed, “It’s been many days since we were captured Marie. How long do we have before…”

“If I assume right… two weeks are all we have left.”

“Should we tell them now Marie? We’ve kept this secret for so long.

There was silence

“Two nights from now we will tell them. For now… lets keep it a secret.

Whoa, those humans/twolegs must've put up a good fight if there were that many deaths.

As for Wave and Marie... I wonder what they're keeping from everyone.

Wave's dream/flashback sounds mysterious. Wonder why it scares him though.
