Hi there, everyone. Long time no post? lol you don't know me already, I'm Pyro Girl, I used to post here quite regularly when the forums were a bit younger but then I kinda drifted away from the community when University started and became interested in other things but I'd thought I'd at least try to get back into the swing of things here.

Anyhoo, I'm gonna be posting some of my 3D art that I've made on a program, called Blender. I'm also going to be putting them into spoilers just to say page loading time.

Here's my latest render of Saturn

OMG! HOW DID YOU DO THAT?! 8D

Well, I actually did two renders. The first one, I did the render of Saturn and the second one I put the render on a plane as a UV texture and used Blender's compositor to add a colour balance, give it a glow effect and give it a vignette (the filter effect around the edges). It's hard to explain lol.

I'm actually trying to do a video of me making something in Blender at the moment. You know, like a behind the scenes sorta thing. I'll post it when it's done

Yes!! I'm glad to see another Blender user. I'm still learning how to work the fridgen' thing, but it's good to see examples of what might come out.
Which version of Blender do you use, may I ask?

Sorry I've not posted much, I've been up to my eyes in university work and I'm currently working on a couple of Blender projects, which includes a Glass Earth ornament and a model of Frieza from Dragonball Z.

@bolt Yeah, I've posted a WIP topic here ages ago when I was making the model and I put it in my DA gallery. Too bad I lost the file

@CinderLover Oh, getting into the world of Blender, are you? Cool ! I remember when I first started up Blender and I was was like "ZOMG !" when I saw all buttons and graphs and aaaah lol . I remember I could barely make that snowman in the snowman tutorial from the Blender.org site lol. I'm curretly trying to get better at character because I'm not as good at modelling as I am with materials. I don't know how far you are in Blender but if you need some help with anything you can always ask me or you can take a look at www.blenderartists.org

Agreed. I remember seeing a square, and tiny buttons. My first thought- "Oh, crap!"

Thankies, I call the base "The Flower of Creation" ! I'm currently trying to make the mantle piece that it's on at bit less bare and more "homey" by adding some objects and I'm also trying to turn the Earth into a sort of glowing lamp at night but it's proving difficult to say the least...

That's cool! I've only just gotten into joining objects, sooo...

I don't understand lighting at all.

lol don't worry, I'm not very good at lighting either. I just keep mucking about with it and hope it looks good in the end lol I'm stuck on my glowing Earth at the moment because I'm having trouble getting good nightime lighting in fact

When is lighting not difficult?

Anyhoo, I've been working on my Frieza model from the show, Dragonball Z all night and finally finished his head (Yes it's a he, why Akira Toriyama made him look female I'll never know lol !). Here's two renders that I made

Oh! Oh! I also took the time to try and sort out my lighting issues on my Glass Earth and this is what I managed to do to it. I've still to try to give the Earth a glow node, alter the blur a bit or even get rid of it completely and add on a few more things but I'm happy with the lighting !

Its hard to believe that isn't a painting!

Here's another render of my Glass Earth but this time I added the glow node, zoomed in on the Earth a wee bit and got rid of most of the defocus blur.

Oh! New Blender Project, guys !

I decided to start a new project on Blender, where I'm doing a new Spyro model mainly because I lost my old on and I'm a wee bit better at modelling than I was. Here's what I did so far.

Nice!

That Spyro is certainly more detailed than the other, very nice!
