This is a Bionicle story by my friend Bumble (who wanted me to post this story here). It will be posted in Chronicles (which means that this is an entire story, not a chapter). However, I have to post it in segments due to its size. Bumble is writing sequels, but please be patient. The story is first written on paper, then it is typed due to her limited computer access. Thus, it takes some time for the story to reach the Internet.
The Legend of Stormu
By Bumble
Chronicle 1: The Coming of Stormu

The seven Toa were on a journey to Ta-Koro. They stopped on their journey when they heard a large crash behind them. The sound was of rock crushing rock. They turned around to see something walking towards them in the distance, looking unsteady on their feet. The Toa prepared their weapons as the being came closer and closer. When they could finally see the being, the Toa noticed that its armor was as gray as a storm cloud and its mask was the yellow-white of lightning. It also carried a staff with an orb on top that flashed with lightning, hail, and snow on the inside. On the being’s back were a pair of gray and yellow wings. The being kept trudging closer. Then, the being’s legs slipped out from under its body. When it hit the ground, the Toa rushed to help it. They noticed that the being was a Toa, like them, but they were confused. There were only supposed to be seven Toa- there was no prophecy about an eighth Toa. So they carried the unconscious Toa to Ta-Koro, the village of Tahu (the Toa of Fire). When they arrived, they went straight to Vakama, the Turaga of the village.
“No prophecy has spoken of an eighth Toa.” said Gali, the Toa of Water.
“Yeah, who is this Toa-hero?” asked Lewa, the Toa of Air.
“We need to know.” said Kopaka, the Toa of Ice.
“You are right.” said Vakama at last. “But I don’t know who this is either, so we shall have to wait till they wake up.” So they waited for two days until the Toa awakened. When the seven Toa saw the mysterious newcomer awake, it was talking to Jaller, a Matoran who lived in the village.
“Well, at least we know it’s friendly.” said Pohatu, Toa of Stone. They walked up to the new Toa. When Jaller saw them approaching, he left. The Toa of Earth, named Onua, tapped the Toa on the shoulder. It cried out in surprise and whipped around, preparing to fight.
Noticing that it was just the other Toa, the being relaxed and said, “Don’t scare me like that. I could have hurt you.” The Toa noticed that it talked with a slight lightning-like crackle in its voice.
“Who are you?” asked the golden and white Toa, Takanuva (the Toa of Light).
The mysterious Toa giggled softly and said, “Sorry. My name is Stormu. I’m the Toa of Weather.”
The Toa looked at each other. It was Lewa who broke the silence by saying, “I’m Lewa, Toa-hero of Air.” Stormu smiled at Lewa. The other Toa introduced themselves as well.
“Where did you come from?” asked Pohatu.
“Well, I don’t really remember, but the one thing I do remember are six other capsules leaving but mine staying behind as if it was stuck. Then a shadow engulfed my capsule and I don’t remember anything after that.” explained Stormu. The eight Toa went back to see the Turaga.
“Turaga Vakama, this is Stormu, the Toa of Weather.” said Tahu.
“Hello, Stormu. By the way, Toa, I found the prophecy we were looking for. Take a look.” said Vakama, handing the stone tablet to the Toa. The prophecy stated:
The eighth Toa will arrive but will not appear until she is needed. She will not arrive with the other Toa because a darkness will engulf her and trap her in a blanket of shadows. The Toa will arrive will arrive when she is truly needed.
Tahu read the prophecy aloud to the other Toa. They were so interested that they didn’t notice Stormu slip away towards the beach. She looked at the waves with interest. Stormu was so caught up with watching the waves that she didn’t hear Lewa arrive.
“What’s ever-wrong, Stormu? he asked.
“You guys are so close and are such good friends. Then, I show up and I feel like I’m just someone getting in the way.” Stormu replied dejectedly.
“Don’t mind-think that way.” said Lewa gently. “You’re a Toa-hero just like us. You are just as much a friend as any of the others are.”
“Thanks Lewa, you’re a good friend.” Stormu said, giving Lewa a hug.
“Race you back to Ta-Koro!” exclaimed Lewa.

“You’re on!” and with that Stormu blasted from the ground with a burst of speed, with Lewa just behind her, using the wind to fly. The two arrived at Ta-Koro in minutes. They landed near the other Toa. Tahu looked angry.
“Where were you?!” he demanded. “And why did you sneak off like that?!”
Stormu, startled, started to get angry. Lewa put a hand on her shoulder to calm her down, then he told Tahu where Stormu had gone and why.
After Lewa was done, Tahu calmed down and said, “Stormu, don’t go run off again. By the way, battle practice is in twenty minutes.” With that, Tahu and the other Toa left, leaving both Lewa and Stormu standing there with nothing to say.
Then, Stormu asked, “Where do you guys have battle practice?”
“In Kini-Nui.” replied Lewa. “Do you want to fly over there now?” he asked.
“Okay, but let’s walk this time.” said Stormu. So the two Toa walked to the Kini-Nui. By the time they arrived, battle practice was just beginning.
“Okay, battle partners are Onua and I, Gali and Lewa, Pohatu and Kopaka, and Takanuva and Stormu.” said Tahu. Stormu and Takanuva walked over to an open space.
“Now remember, you can use your elemental and mask powers, but only on low power. We don’t want anyone getting hurt.” Tahu explained. The battles began. Takanuva sent orbs of light flying at Stormu. She panicked, but as if by instinct, Stormu pointed her staff at the orbs of light and a ring emerged from the staff. Hail blasted out of the ring and caused the orbs to explode. But even bigger chunks of hail poured out of the ring, hitting Takanuva. The Toa of Light flew backwards from the assault. The whole time Stormu had her eyes closed. When she opened them, she was surprised to see Takanuva lying on the ground, battered, bruised, and shivering with cold. The other six Toa stared at Stormu with shock.
“What? What did I do?” she said, not understanding.
Lewa spoke up and said, “You just sent hail flying at Takanuva. Didn’t you see it?”
Stormu was shocked. “I-I didn’t mean to.” she said unhappily.
“What were you thinking about?” asked Kopaka.
She replied, “I was thinking that he should lay off and chill out.” Suddenly, she felt weak again, like when she first landed on Mata Nui. Then, Stormu blacked out.

When she woke up she was lying on a soft bed of leaves. Stormu went out the door of the hut and found herself in Le-Koro.
Lewa flew over to her and said, “We found out why you keep fainting, Toa-sister. You aren’t used to your powers (which are extremely strong) yet, so they end up overwhelming your body.”
“So that’s why.” Stormu murmured. She sounded upset.
Lewa caught that she was feeling sad so he asked, “What’s ever-wrong, Stormu?”
“It’s that I’m blacking out because I’m too weak to control my own power. I don’t belong here.” Stormu said resentfully. And with that, she flew into the sky. Lewa became worried and followed her. He watched as Stormu flew to a cave on the coast of the island, and then Lewa flew off to find the other Toa.
Stormu went into the cave. “This is perfect.” she said to herself. “I’ll use this place to practice.” So Stormu began practicing using her power and keeping conscious. When she heard something coming from outside the cave, Stormu lost her concentration and fainted. When she woke up several seconds later, the seven Toa had surrounded her. Stormu got up and began to run, but Tahu created a ring of fire around her.
She was confused. “What’s wrong with them? Can’t they understand that I just want some time to myself?” she muttered. “Leave me alone!” she shouted at them, but the Toa just came closer. Then, they began bombarding Stormu with their respective elements. As she dodged, Stormu became furious. “I SAID LEAVE ME ALONE!” she roared. Her shout shook the cave ceiling, and lightning bolts struck the seven Toa, knocking them off their feet. A hurricane began to form around Stormu and lifted her off the ground. All that could be seen through the tornado of wind and water were her eyes, which were glowing a bright blood-red crimson. The tornado grew into a hurricane, grabbing the Toa and throwing them out the cave entrance. Stormu began to calm down, as did the hurricane. She stood on the cave floor, breathing heavily.
When Jaller suddenly entered the cave, he said incredulously, “Did you just beat those seven Rahi all by yourself?”
“Rahi?” Stormu echoed. “They looked like the other Toa.” she said to herself. Turning to Jaller, she said, “Yes, I did. How did you get here anyways?”
He answered, “Toa Lewa flew me here.”
“Why?” asked Stormu.
“To check on you while he told the other Toa what happened.” he replied cheerfully. “Then he said he was going to come back and talk to you to make sure you really are alright.”
“Well, when he gets here, tell him I want to be left alone.” said Stormu as she walked deeper into the cave. Jaller just stared after her, astounded.

Stormu made it halfway through the cave tunnel when she heard a whooshing noise at the entrance. Jaller turned around to greet the Toa of Air. As he did, Stormu took cover behind a large rock nearby. Lewa walked into the cave and called, “Stormu? Where are you?” When she didn’t answer, he said with a touch of sadness in his voice, “Please come out. I just want to talk to you.” So Stormu reluctantly stepped out from behind the rock, looking nervous, ashamed, and a little angry. Lewa ran up to her.
“Stormu, what’s going on with you? You seem a little jumpy.” Lewa said.
“I still can’t control my powers. Sure, I got rid of those Rahi, but that was only because I thought that they were you and the others trying to bother me, so I got angry.” Stormu confessed, her gaze dropping to the floor.
“So what?” he said. “I had trouble with my powers once too, you know.”
Then, the two Toa heard a slurping, sliding sound rapidly approaching them. Lewa prepared himself for a fight, but the thing that made the noise was upon them before Stormu could get ready. It was a living cube of semi-liquid protodermis. The cube grabbed Stormu so forcefully that she dropped her staff. The cube extended itself and knocked her mask off, weakening the Toa of Weather. Lewa sprang to help her, but the cube knocked his mask off as well. It also spotted Jaller, but it deemed him too small to be a threat. As the cube slurped off into the depths of the cave with Stormu, Jaller picked up the Miru Nuva and ran over to Lewa, placing the Kanohi upon his face. Lewa felt power rush through his limbs once more and so he went after the cube. He watched as the cube began to force Stormu into its body. Strangely enough, her head (which was not in the cube) began to disappear first. Now Lewa understood what was happening as the Weather Toa slipped through the body of the cube, holding determinedly on to her Kanohi with one hand.
Of course. thought Lewa. She has the Mask of Intangibility!
The cube slurped on as if it didn’t even realize that it had lost its captive. Lewa ran to Stormu’s side and put her mask back on her face. Stormu’s eyes flashed back into focus as Lewa looked down at her worriedly. She stood up and tried to walk, but she slipped. Lewa caught Stormu, steadying her.
“Thanks.” said Stormu. “For everything.”

“Sure. Let’s go.” said Lewa. And with that the two Toa flew with Jaller to Ga-Koro. When they reached the village, they had an unexpected greeting. The six other Toa were there.
“By the way, here’s your staff.” whispered Lewa, handing the tool to Stormu. As the other Toa came closer, Lewa stepped in front of Stormu in case of trouble. Tahu just pushed him aside, coming closer to Stormu while the other Toa held Lewa back. Stormu took a nervous step backwards as Tahu came mask-to-mask with the Weather Toa.
“What were you thinking?!” yelled Tahu. “We gave you a break once, but not this time.” He threw a punch at Stormu, but his fist sailed harmlessly through her as she activated her mask. Jaller, who had been hiding behind Lewa, ran up to Tahu and said, “Please stop, she’s been through a lot in just four days! Cut her some slack.”
Tahu turned around and smacked Jaller, knocking him away. “This is for the good of everyone, so stay out of it, Matoran.” Tahu growled. Takanuva and Stormu gasped as they saw what Tahu had done. As one, they became furious beyond measure. The sky turned black and arcs of light crackled along both of the Toa.
“You have gone too far, Tahu.” spat Takanuva. “You have hurt my best friend.”
As light began to surround Takanuva, a black hurricane appeared around Stormu. The hurricane surrounded Tahu and Takanuva, not harming the Toa of Light but ripping at Tahu. All that could be seen of Takanuva and Stormu were their eyes, which were glowing a dark crimson. The hurricane spat Tahu at a large tree and he fell, dazed. Takanuva enveloped Tahu in light, causing searing pain to spread throughout the Toa of Fire’s body.
The hurricane stopped and Stormu went over to Tahu, breathing heavily. “You leave Jaller alone. He did nothing to you. If anyone did something wrong, it was you.” she said menacingly.
Takanuva said, “We are Toa! Our duty is to protect the Matoran, not throw them out of our way!”
Stormu added, “Usually, I am calm, like the sky. But you brought out my bad side. And I don’t like it when someone brings out my bad side!” She glared at Tahu. He had a look of surprise, anger, and even a little fear on his face. Turning to the other five Toa, she said, “Leave Lewa alone, or you will face the storm as well.”
They moved away from Lewa, who said, “Thanks Stormu. And you too, Takanuva.”
Gali said, “We shouldn’t be using our powers against each other. But Tahu, what you did was wrong.”
Stormu replied, “Yeah, I kind of figured that you guys don’t fight very often when I saw the look on his face.”

It took a while, but eventually the eight Toa got over what had happened. They set out for Ta-Koro once more.
On the way, Stormu asked Lewa, “I’ve been meaning to ask you where you found me?”
He replied, “I’ll show you tomorrow. It’s too late to go today.”
That night, Stormu couldn’t sleep. She walked around in the once-burnt but now flourishing forest near Ta-Koro. She heard a faint snapping, skittering sound. Stormu looked down to see an insect. At first, her mind was blank, but then she remembered. “Snap!” she whispered happily. The insect snapped its pincers in greeting and clambered onto Stormu’s shoulder. “It’s good to have you back.” she murmured. They went back to the hut where Stormu slept. “I knew there was a reason I couldn’t sleep, but now that I solved it I feel tired. Good night, Snap.” Stormu said, and she fell asleep as Snap snapped a sleepy reply.
At sunrise, the two awoke. When Stormu went to see the other Toa, she had Snap riding on her shoulder.
Pohatu said, “Um…Stormu? You have an insect on your shoulder. Here, let me get it.”
He reached over to smack Snap, but Stormu pushed his hand away.
“No thanks, I like him where he is.” she told the confused Toa. “His name is Snap, and he has saved my life many times. We’ve been friends for as long as I can remember.”
Everyone but Lewa and Takanuva laughed.
“How could a puny insect save a Toa’s life?” asked Tahu. He began laughing again.
Snap snapped his pincers as if he was annoyed. Then, he jumped off Stormu’s shoulder and began to glow. As he glowed, he began to grow larger and larger until he was the size of a Manas crab. He snapped his huge, deadly pincers and let out a roar. The other Toa jumped in fright.
Stormu just stood there and said, “That’s how.” Snap shrank back to his original size and climbed back up to Stormu’s shoulder. “Any other questions, or can we get on with training?” she said. The other Toa shook their heads, so they left for battle practice in silence.
But once they were there, Tahu said, “Partners are Gali and Takanuva, Kopaka and Lewa, Pohatu and Onua, and Stormu and I.”
Each pair went to an empty space in the temple as Stormu said to Tahu, “Why did you choose to be my partner? Haven’t you had enough already?”
He replied, “I want a rematch, that’s all.”
“Good enough reason for me!” said Stormu.
“Go!” cried Tahu. He jumped into the air, shooting two fire balls per second at Stormu. Snap reacted first and grew huge, blocking the fire with his nearly indestructible body. When Tahu stopped throwing fire balls, Stormu jumped out from behind Snap and sent a miniature storm at Tahu. She grinned and snapped her fingers. As she did, the storm cloud began to rain on Tahu. He tried to throw more fire at Stormu, but her rain put it out. She then pointed her staff at Tahu and a small tsunami flew at Tahu, knocking him unconscious. Stormu noticed that she didn’t feel weak or woozy for the first time after using her powers.
“Yes!” she murmured. Snap shrank back to his normal size and crawled to Stormu’s shoulder. “Thanks, old friend.” Stormu said. Snap snapped and chattered happily.
“Nice job!” said Lewa as Tahu came around.
“Did you beat Kopaka already?” asked Stormu.
Lewa replied, “No. He’s still trying to get out of my sphere of wind.” Looking over his shoulder, he called, “Hey Kopaka, give up yet?”
“Never.” came Kopaka’s cold voice. It sounded as if he were speaking over a loud wind.
“Fine, I guess you can just stay in there.” laughed Lewa. After battle practice was over, the eight Toa left for their separate villages (even Kopaka, who was still trapped inside Lewa’s air bubble, not wanting to look weak to Lewa by giving up). Everyone, that is, except for one. That was Stormu, who remained at the Kini-Nui with only Snap for company. She had no village to return to. She made a fire by gathering twigs and setting them ablaze with lightning. She made a bed out of leaves. As she lay on the leaves, Stormu watched the stars sparkle in the heavens.
“Snap?” she murmured. “Do you ever miss your friends? I know I miss mine. I hope someday I can have as good of friends as you and Lewa. Maybe someday we could even have our own village like Tahu, Pohatu, Onua, Gali, Lewa, and Kopaka. Even Takanuva has a village, though he shares it with Tahu.” Snap clicked his pincers softly, agreeing with the Toa of Weather.
“Good night, Snap.” said Stormu as she drifted off to sleep.

She awoke to see Lewa looking at her. “Good morning!” said an enthusiastic Lewa. “Guess what?”
“What?” said Stormu, feeling as if she were half-asleep.
“Turaga Matau said that you can live-stay in Le-Koro if you would like to.” said Lewa, grinning.
“I’d love to! Thanks, Lewa.” said Stormu as she hugged the Toa of Air. Now she was wide awake.
“Then let’s go! I even have a place ready for you to sleep-stay.” Lewa said as he jumped up from where he had been sitting.
“I can’t wait to see it! Come on!” said Stormu, and so the two Toa flew off to Le-Koro, the village of Air.
As they arrived, Lewa looked up and said, “There’s your home.” He pointed to a large hut built into the trees. “Go on, check it out.” urged Lewa. So Stormu flew up to the hut, followed by Lewa. The house was huge and had a wonderful view, but what really made Stormu fall in love with it was the transparent ceiling. “It’s so that you can watch the storms while you’re in bed.” explained Lewa.
“I love it! Thank you so much!” said Stormu, hugging Lewa again. “You’re a great friend, Lewa.” she said. Snap started snapping in annoyance. “Don’t worry, Snap, you’re a good friend too.” said Stormu, patting the insect affectionately.
Lewa said, “Tahu is looking for all the Toa.”
“What do you think he wants us for now?” wondered Stormu. “Probably just more battle practice. He says we have to be prepared for anything, even though Takanuva has defeated Makuta. Anyways, he wants us at the Kini-Nui. I wonder how Kopaka is going to get there?” said Lewa, grinning. Stormu laughed. Then, the two Toa flew off to the Great Temple.
Once they arrived, Lewa saw the answer to his question.
“I froze the air bubble and shattered it.” said Kopaka. “It was simple once I figured it out.” Then, he turned his back to Lewa.
“Everyone, I called you here because at the request of the Turaga, we’re going to go check out Metru Nui, the island that will soon be both our home and the home of the Turaga and Matoran.”
“How are we supposed to get there?” said Lewa. “I can’t wind-fly everyone.”
Tahu replied, “That is why I would like to ask our sister Stormu to join the Toa Nuva. We need her to get us to Metru Nui and back.”
“Okay.” said Stormu, “But I don’t know how.”
“I think I might.” said Lewa. When everyone was silent, he continued, “Well, you know hot air makes an updraft, right?” The Toa all nodded. Lewa said, “Well, what if we made the air damp and warm? Then we won’t slip through the air and we can wind-fly too!”
“That’s brilliant, Lewa!” cried Stormu. “I think I can make the rain cloud, but I’ll need Tahu’s help to keep the air warm and the cloud floating.”
Gali said, “I can help keep the cloud damp as well.”
“To stop myself from using all my energy so that we can get back, I’ll fly next to the cloud.” said Stormu.

So the eight Toa Nuva went to the Great Temple, where Stormu began to form the rain cloud. “Okay, Tahu, add some heat.” instructed Stormu. As Tahu warmed the air, the cloud began to lift.
All aboard the cloud express!” cried Lewa. The six Toa sat on the cloud with Lewa and Stormu flying nearby. Stormu and Gali made sure the cloud had the exact amount of density to carry the Toa, and Tahu added more heat to the air. The cloud began to lift, and Lewa summoned gusts of wind to blow it towards Metru Nui. This went on for two days until the island finally came into view. It appeared ruined, as if some great natural disaster had struck long ago. The Toa landed on the coast of Ga-Metru, which was once beautiful according to the Turaga’s stories, but it was now a dark and cold place.
As the cloud landed, Stormu asked, “Now what?”
“Now Gali, Pohatu, Onua, Lewa, Kopaka and I go look around while you rest.” said Tahu. “Takanuva will stay to protect you, since we’ll need your help to get back home.” he explained.
“What? That’s not fair! I want to look around too!” Stormu protested.
Lewa put a hand on her shoulder and said, “We just want you to be safe. Without you, none of us will ever see our home-island again.”
Reluctantly, Stormu calmed down and looked at Snap. Then she said, “Okay, but you have to take Snap with you. This place looks pretty dangerous- oh, and by the way, if something happens to Snap, like if you leave him behind, he’ll tell me telepathically. And don’t worry, he’s nearly indestructible.” Snap snapped his pincers in agreement.
Lewa held out his arm and said, “Here, I’ll carry him.” Snap jumped to Lewa’s arm.
“Be careful!” called Stormu as the six Toa headed onwards. Then she sat on the ground, watching Takanuva do the same.
“So? Do you ever talk?” Stormu asked.
“Yeah, but I’m just not good at talking to new people.” Takanuva explained.
“Oh, so that’s why. You’re shy, like me.” she said.
“You? Shy? I’ve never noticed.” said Takanuva. Suddenly, a blast of red light flew out of nowhere, burning the ground in front of where the Toa were sitting. They jumped up, ready to fight. Another blast came from behind the pair and hit Takanuva, whipping him off his feet. As he began to stand back up, a large rock flew at his head, knocking him unconscious. Stormu felt her anger begin to rise, but she forced it to subside. A blast of red light shot at her back, but her reflexes were too fast and she back flipped over it. After this went on for ten minutes, Stormu’s anger rose once more. The Toa of Weather went from mad to angry to downright furious. Running over to Takanuva’s unconscious form, she stood in front of him to protect the Toa of Light from what she was about to do. Stormu conjured a tornado around herself and Takanuva and tore up the area around them, keeping their enemies from attacking. Then, it vanished as quickly as it had come. Just then Takanuva regained consciousness. He saw their attackers (which had been destroyed by the tornado), then he looked at Stormu. She appeared ill and toppled over. Takanuva caught her and said, “What’s wrong, Stormu?”
“Don’t know…just don’t feel well…must…contact...Snap…” Stormu said weakly. Using the remains of her energy, she telepathically contacted Snap, telling him to lead the other Toa back quickly. Something bad was going to happen, Stormu could feel it. Then, she blacked out.

Stormu didn’t regain consciousness for several days, and when she did, she felt extremely weak. She could barely lift her head. However, Stormu noticed that the other Toa had constructed a shelter out of various pieces of debris. When Lewa came in and saw that she was awake, he asked, “Feeling better?” but she was too weak to reply. “You must be very tired.” he said, noticing that she didn’t answer him in any way, shape or form. The only part of her body that moved was her chest, which was slowly rising and falling. Not even her eyes were doing anything now. Takanuva noticed that something was wrong when he saw Snap acting strangely.
He walked over to Lewa and asked, “How is she?”
He replied, “Still very weak. She’s hardly moving at all.”
But I am strong enough to speak. said a voice in their heads.
“Stormu?” whispered Tahu incredulously, turning to where the injured Toa lay. All the Toa Nuva were in the room now.
Yes. I have just enough energy to speak to you telepathically. said Stormu.
“We’re all worried about you, especially Lewa and Snap.” said Pohatu. “Even Kopaka is worried and he hardly shows any emotion at all.” he continued.
Takanuva looked at the others as if they were crazy. “How can she speak to us if she doesn’t have a Mask of Telepathy?” Gali, however, grasped what was happening.
I had to learn to speak telepathically so that I could talk to and understand Snap and so that he and I could converse without our enemies knowing it. Stormu explained. I should probably get more rest. Then, Stormu’s eyes closed.
Gali said, “Takanuva, do you remember when I spoke to you telepathically when we went to battle Makuta for the first time?” When he nodded, she continued. “Any Toa can form a mental bond with another living creature, if both are willing.”
Still, Stormu didn’t speak again for several days. But when she did, she had enough strength to speak aloud and even walk across the room and back (with the assistance of Takanuva). Gradually, more of Stormu’s strength returned until at the end of the week, she was able to walk outside and greet the other Toa herself. However, it took another week for Stormu to be able to use her powers again and three more days to be able to fly. However, Stormu eventually became healthy and strong once more. When she went outside that day, Snap ran up to her shoulder, sitting in his usual place. “Thank you all for helping me regain my strength. I don’t know what happened, but I don’t care because it showed me that I have eight great friends…all of you.” said Stormu. “Thank you.”
All of the Toa clapped. “Great speech. Do you have enough energy to get us home?” whispered Tahu.
As he spoke, Stormu saw their island as a blackened wasteland. The Matoran were sick and perhaps even dying. “Mata Nui is in danger!” Stormu cried. Everyone turned their heads to look at the Toa of Weather, puzzled.
“How do you know?” asked Gali.
“I know because there has been a disturbance in the weather of Mata Nui. Someone or something has stopped the rain from falling, making the island and the Matoran ill, perhaps even dying.” said Stormu.
“Then we have to leave ever-quick!” said Lewa. The Toa Nuva then made the journey back to Mata Nui.
When they arrived, they saw that Stormu was right. Their island home looked diseased and stunted.
“How do we save it?” asked Lewa softly.
“Ummm…wait, I remember the first six Toa could combine. Can’t they?” said Stormu.
“Yes.” answered the first six Toa in unison.
“So what if the other two Toa could combine as well? I mean, weather and light. Water, nutrients, and sunlight. The three things living beings need to survive, and Takanuva and I can provide them by uniting.” said Stormu.
“It’s worth a try. And besides, she is quite right. Weather and light do make three of the most important things living beings need to not only to survive, but grow as well.” Gali said.
“Okay, let’s try it for the sake of Mata Nui!” Takanuva exclaimed. So the two Toa looked deep into each others’ eyes and held hands, determined to become one. As they focused on their unity, there was a bright flash. A new Toa stood in their place.
“Let’s do this.” said the new Kaita, Toa Stornua Nuva. He was gray, gold, and white with bright yellow armor. His voice sounded like Takanuva and Stormu’s voices mingled together. Stornua placed his hands together and slowly drew them apart, forming a huge storm cloud that was as black as night. When the storm cloud was nearly the size of the island itself, Stornua flung it into the sky. Rain began to pour all over Mata Nui, and lightning flashed. Once the soil was properly fertilized, Stornua absorbed the cloud through his palm. Then he closed his eyes and the sun shone bright in the sky. The seven Toa watched as life returned to the island before their very eyes. With another flash, Stornua separated into Takanuva and Stormu.
“It’s time to set order back to the weather of Mata Nui!” cried Stormu, hurling a lightning bolt at a small unnaturally shining light in the sky. When the lightning bolt struck the strange light, the orb exploded in a brilliant shower of sparks.
