This is a story about Azure, a Lapis-Lazuli Dragon whose greatest desire was to let the world know she was innocent of a murderous crime. But standing between this simple desire and Azure is a dragon that wants to use the power of the Flute of Azure to control Delta, the dragon that created the known Universe.

For those who have read the Third Series of Deltora Quest, Azure looks just like the Lapis-Lazuli dragon on the back of the book, except with much larger wings and pupils in the eyes. She is also more muscular.

In this Story, 1 Year = 11 Human Years. She is 6 (66 in Human Years) in the Prolouge, and 600 (6,600 in Human Years) in the Chapters.

~Prolouge~

Azure ran under the cover of dakrness, panting. She had been blamed for a murder that she didn't do, and she had to get away as fast as possible. The only things Azure took with her was the Lapis Lazuli her mother had given her, an ancient book about the Guardians, and herself, of course.

Azure had managed to escape the dragons trying to catch, and kill, her. She was angry and devastated, not believing that the Dragons of the City of Elppa had actually thought that an 6 Year Old could have killed 11 Dragons that night. She was there, indeed, but she wasn't the murderer. She didn't get a clear view of the one that did it, but she knew it was a dragon.

Pain began to shoot through Azure's body, but she didn't stop. She took off, into the air, and flew above a forest that was feared by the citizens of Elppa. Azure felt an unbearable jab of pain, and she crashed through the trees, at the centre of the forest. She hit the ground so hard, that the force pushed her underground. Not having the energy to get up, she fell unconcious. Little did anyone know, she wouldn't wake up for a long time. Not for thousands of years.

~Chapter 1: The Awakening~

One Evening at Dusk, a glow emitted from the centre of the forest. 594 Years had passed since Azure had fallen into a coma. Dirt, leaves and bark filled the hole that she lay in, being a safe hiding spot, indeed, from Bounty Hunters. Everyone had thought she was dead, and they were glad.

Curled up within the hole she had slept in for so long, she had grown larger and stronger. Her body twitched, and she opened her eyes. They were slightly glazed, and also a bit blank. As they slowly focused, Azure tried to unfold her wings. Realising she was in a small space, she let out a low growl, and started to dig to create more space. Her eyes had finally adjusted to the dark.
"Where... Where am I?" Azure muttered weakly. Then, it all came back to her. She remembered being banished from Elppa. She remembered being chased by dragons. She remembered crashing into the forest.

After a few hours, Azure had created a large enough room to stretch out her body, and take a good look at herself. She gasped as she saw how much she had grown since she had passed out.
"But surely, I was only passed out for a few days!" she exclaimed. "How did I grow so large? How? It musn't be true, it must be a trick of the light." Azure tried to dig a tunnel to get out of her undeground prison.

Half an Hour later, Azure finally managed to get out of her place of refuge. She blinked a couple of times, before looking around. She remembered the trees were massive the last time she saw them, but nothing compared to this time. The trees were larger, and there were more of them. Azure looked around, and found a small pool of crystal clear water. She looked into the pool, and her headspikes drooped. She was the same size as she thought she was.
"Wait, there was a sprout here, I think." Azure murmured. "It will tell me how long I've been asleep for." She looked around, and found a tree that she remembered was a shoot, seeing it as she crashed. Azure cut down the tree, and counted the rings within. "6594 Rings... Which is 594 Years. But... That can't be true! It can't!" Azure took off, eyes filling with tears. She rode the gentle wind currents, and stared at the stars above. They reminded her of herself, for she too had starry markings on her body.

~Chapter 2: Blazaki~

Azure eventually swooped down beside an abandoned cave, leaves blowing in the breeze. She went in and looked around. The cave was quite large, and completely empty except for a few broken branches. Azure created a nest with some rocks and the branches, then placed a layer of grass and leaves inside. She was about to lie down in it, when a dragon walked into the cave. His scales were Orange with Scarlet tips. His underbelly, wingwebbing and horns were Golden. His eyes were Yellow, and his claws were Silver.
Azure hastily backed away, eyes wide. "Oh... I didn't kno- Do you live here?" she stuttered.
"I apologise if I scared you, and no, I don't live here." he smiled warmly.
"Oh, alright... I guess I'm just a little confused and lost right now... My name is Azure." Azure said, blushing slightly.
"My name would be Blazaki." the dragon said. "But, could I ask you a favour?" This was the responce Azure least expected.
"But, what kind of favour?" she asked.
"Can you... Help me find something?" Blazaki said, sounding a bit embarressed. "I didn't have the courage to do it alone, and I saw you fly towards here. So... Will you help me?"
"Of course!" Azure exclaimed. "What are you looking for, anyway?"
"Oh... Just a flute. A flute made of diamond." he replied.
