I just added a YouTube video to my announcement and for some reason, it came out as the HTML code rather than the video itself. Its worked before on my profile, because it's something that I regularly update but for some reason it's not working anymore.

Grab the address to it instead of the code? That usually works.

I am using the adress, I know how to do it. Check my profile, to me it just comes up as the HTLM code... I dunno, it could just be something on my end but I've seen other videos in other parts of the forum. Just, on my profile it's broken...

I'm seeing HTML code as well, but it looks cut off in the beginning, maybe there's something in that part of the code that your GB doesn't like?

It happens when there's a code for a smilie in the address. While I don't have the time to fix the underlying problem right now, I have made it so smilies can be turned off in announcements, which should make the video display correctly.

Oh, right... The 'smilie' smilie is in the code. Ok, that clears things up.

Edit: Maybe you could make it, so whilst in between a YouTube/image block, then smilies are disabled?

Embedding works?

Also I'm just curious, what if the link has a curse word in it?
