Bad, Krome! They need to do their research. Although, to be fair, mandrill's were only recently put into their own class of Old-World monkeys. They were, at one time, classified as baboons. *heart Wikipedia...yet also traumatized* smilie

I think of the apes in LoS as being a mixture of various simian species. Gaul has some very distinct features of the gorilla, for example. But in the face, they definitely resemble mandrill's the most.

They have blue stripes on their faces and red noses like mandrills

Yep, but some of them have tails (which, as far as I've seen, mandrills do not) and the big ones move like gorillas (Gaul himself even has characteristics of dominant male gorillas, namely, his gray back fur).
