The night was clear, the stars bright. It was a beatiful night. However, to the shadow atop the mountain, it was like a curse. She raised her head towards the sky. A second later, the sound came. It was a sound impossible to describe, yet everyone who heard it felt cold. Few had heard anything like it before. It was as if sadness itself had taken shape and let the cry out. More then one pair of eyes were raised towards the shadow. All of them had tears. At least those who were still possible of felling tears.

All speaking stopped when the sound came. They all looked towards the mountain and the shadow. It was easy to see, darker then even the night.
"Who is that?" One of them asked.
"Telana." Another answered. "She cries out like this every time the night is clear. The night they first came was a night like this."
"I know." The first one replied. "But why does nobody else of them cry out that way then?"
"Because," A third said. "She was the first one to feel the loss of someone close."
They all fell silent. The only sound that was heard was that of the campfire and the shadow. Even the animals kept silent. Everyone knew there would be no sleep this night. The shadow would continue until the light of dawn had come.

Once, she had enjoyed feeling the sunlight. Once, it had been able to touch her. She remembered how it had felt. She looked down. The mountains formed a natural wall around a large circular area. That area was nearly filled now. Everyone looked up at her. About half of them still had white scales. The others had bodies made out of shadows, just like her was. Of those that still had scales, there were still some eyes that held tears. They all knew her. They all knew what she have been through. She closed her eyes and immediatly was transported elsewhere.

Her eyes were filled with horror at what she saw. She just couldn't believe it. Slowly, she walked up to the white body. There was a large empty circular area around it. Everyone else tried to stay as far back as possible while still getting a clear view. As she came close, she was able to confirm what she had feared the most. Tears immediatly formed in her eyes.
"No!" She said. "This can't be! It's impossible! Wake up! Wake up!"
She placed her claws on the body.
"Wake up! Now!"
She put pressure on her claws. For a moment, nothing happened. Then they pierced through the scales. The body lay still. Nothing happened.

Her eyes opened immediatly. The memory was still fresh. She could still feel her claws reaching into his body, moving around, causing as much pain as possible if it had been a living being. But he was not living. Not anymore. She closed her eyes again. This time, there came no visions. Only tears. She lay down. The memory was still haunting her. and it was not the only one. Not even if she had been able to feel the sunlight would it have helped her with this.

I'm trying to put some more feelings in this then I usually do. And thanks for commenting.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The flames reached towards the sky. While they did not grow large enough, the smoke did. It was blacker then usual. It was as if everything wanted to share her sadness. Nothing could. No matter what, she could not find anything else to think of. They had known that sooner or later, lives would be lost. They knew they were not invincible. Yet, they had never expected it to begun this early. To find the first loss to be one of their own. And Telana would never have expected that it would be the one she had chosen. Not much was left of him now. Soon, only ash would remain. She felt someone coming up behind her. Whoever it was stopped a small distance away. Close enough just so that she could tell who it was.
"Silver, what do you want?" She asked, turning around to face him.
He had received his name from his eyes, more silvery then those of the others. She had meant to leave out the other part of his name. He had not yet proved worthy of carrying it in her opinion.
"I want to offer you my help." He answered. "I know that nothing I have felt yet can compare to what you are feeling now, yet we must remain strong. They have clearly shown that they still see us as their enemy. We can't rest now. Not yet. And still, how could we expect you to protect us now?"
"Did you just say what I heard?" She asked, a small hint of anger in her voice.
"It's just temporary." He said, replying with a hint of fear. "Someone must take care of them. And I know you don't feel like doing it at the moment. Look, if there is anything you want me to do to prove that I can handle it, just tell me. You would get the time to recover, and they would remain safe."
She thought for a moment. He was right, they both knew it. She looked at the fire again. It was getting smaller now, having consumed the last bit of him. The ash would be gathered, and then sent back to their home. Something would grow from it. Perhaps they would even let it be bloodflowers. Tears fell from her eyes.
"There is only one thing I want." She said finally. "Get me those who did this. When I get my claws on them, they will regret ever seeing us for the first time! You were with him when it happened. Get me those responsible. And let their kind know, that unless they all are turned over to us, I willl show them how we have changed since last."
Silvers face now showed fear openly, but only for less than half a second. He quickly looked around. Everyone had missed it.
"As you wish, my queen." He said.

Her eyes opened immediatly at the sound. Silver was standing in front of her.
"Telana, I'm sorry." He said. "I tried to think of another way to do it, but..."
"Be silent!" She interrupted him. "I know why you did it, and I know that you could not have done different. But that does not make me forgive you."
Their eyes met, and then he walked away. She knew he was innocent in a way, but it was still partly his fault. And for that, she found it impossible to forgive him. Everything that had happened in chain with it had been partly his fault. And he was the only one alive of those who were responsible. She knew she was being to hard on him because he was the only one she could take out her anger on, but she couldn't help it. Far to much had destroyed, to many lives ruined, for her to be able to forgive any of them. Except for one. But he had been to young. She closed her eyes again. Darkness was everywhere.

He was chained to the ground. He made one attempt to bite off the chain. Nothing happened. He looked at the white dragon again. Her eyes were closed.
"I'm telling you one last time." He said. "The one you are looking for is closer to you then you think. Do you even know why your kind was banished in the first place?"
She opened her eyes. They were filled with hatred and anger.
"You cannot lie to me." She said. "By killing him, you have doomed everyone you care about. Soon, your friends will join you, don't worry. You will all regret the choices you have made in the past."
She walked up to him. He felt a sharp pain in his neck, then everything went dark.

She woke up immediatly. This was one of the more painful memories. It was when everything started to go wrong. However, she had never before seen it from the view of others. It was even the first time she saw any of her memories through the eyes of those who had been around. Tears fell from her eyes. That day, so much had changed. So much suffering had been caused by the events that day. If she only had listened, all could have been avoided. All that pain and suffering, all the death, removed. She could still feel the taste of his blood. She walked outside and looked towards the forest. Perhaps she could find something to wash it off with, if only temporary. Anything would be better then what would follow if she let it be for to long. To many lives had been lost already because of that blood.

Just to let you all know, this part would be lost if not for a redo-function.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Most would say that water had no specific taste. Telana would agree with that most of the time. However, this river was not like every other. They had choosen their home because of it. There was a rare flower that only grew in these waters. And it made the water taste different. She smiled as she lifted her head. She liked the idea of how tiny flowers could, when in great numbers, do something like making a river taste different. For her, it was a sign that if enough would work together, everything was possible. She often came here. Sometimes to be reminded of it. Sometimes because she just liked the taste. And sometimes, because of why she was there now. The taste of blood was long gone from her mouth. Replaced by that of the water. She heard something behind her. She turned around. Nothing. She looked at the river again. Something was happening to it. Suddenly, it turned red. The water in her mouth tasted much sweeter then it had before. She spat it out. It was not water that hit the ground, but blood. Dragon blood. The river was no longer made of water, but by blood. The ground started to turn black. It felt as if it was dying. When she turned around again, the trees were burning. It started to rain. It was red. The rain was red like blood. It was red like blood, because it was blood. Tears fell from her eyes.
"Please, no." She said silently. "Please, let it just be an illusion. A vision of the future. A vision of how it could have been. Please."
"You put way to much blame on yourself." Someone said behind her.
She turned around again and saw a black dragon. He looked at her.
"What happened was not your fault." He continued. "You were being manipulated, just like all of your kind was."
Sunlight shone on the ground. It started to return to life. The red color of the rain came from the flames, which were now being put out by it. The river was once again made of water.
"Who are you?" She asked him. "And what is it you want?"
"Do I have to want something?" He smiled at her. "As for my name, it's not important at the moment. What is important is that you must remain strong. You should be proud of what you have done. The things you have sacrificed is more then anyone could have asked of you. Even your young prince is proud of you. I'm sure he would be trying to tell you this himself, if he only was here. As it is now, he's having some... Small problems on other worlds."
Then he suddenly disappeared. Everything was just as it had been before. She looked around. She felt something. Something she had never felt before. She couldn't really say what it was. She would have to try and figure it out later. First, she wanted to know more about the black dragon.

Thanks
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

She picked up one of the flowers. Bloodflowers, she remembered someone had called them. It made sense. They were red like blood. However, she also knew they were very rare and hard to find. That made her even more interested in finding out who had left them outside her cave. She knew what they meant. But she found it strange that someone who would be able find some would be to shy to meet her directly. Or was it just someone playing a game? She doubted it. Perhaps whoever it was wanted to see if she could find out who he was. Some kind of test. As it was right now, she could guess on nearly anyone. She smiled. Nothing like a little challenge to make an interesting start to the day.

For the first time since she had realised she had been betrayed, she woke up with a smile. For the first time, her dreams had been free of the horros she had both seen and done. They had been about the life before. She focused her thoughts. Yes, the memory was still there. Weak, but it was still there. Perhaps the black dragon had been right. Perhaps she was being to hard on herself. One second later, the fact that her body was now made of shadows reminded her of what she had done. No. She had not yet done enough to deserve to be forgiven. But, perhaps she could at least hope for that day to come soon. Something was changing, she knew it. Already, two things out of the ordinary had happened. She did not like to have false hopes, but even if she had been someone sleeping all day long it would have been impossible for her to miss that something was happening. What it was, she had no idea, but it was something, and it was not the usual. She focused her thoughts again. Whatever happened, her experience told her that only a fool would feel secure by only hope. Even if it was something good, she would have to prepare for the worst. Just in case.

She didn't really like sneaking around. She would prefer an open battle against defeating her opponents from the shadows. However, sometimes there was no other option then sneaking. Especially now. The one she was looking for wasn't exactly seen as a hero in the eyes of the others. She would have to be fast as well. It was not really that long of a distance between the mountains where they now lived, and the lake she had said she would visit. Luckily, the one she wanted to see was also close by, at least for someone knowing what to look for. Then she saw the tree. It looked as if it had been hit by lightning. A closer look revealed that it had been hit at least five times. There was a small blue flower next to it. She crushed it with a claw.
Darkness came immediatly. She was no longer in the forest, that much was clear.
"Ah, I knew you would find your way here... Eventually." a female voice said behind her. "That was what they told me... And they never lie. They have no interest in it, since it would only reduce their chances to see their dreams becoming real."
She turned around. Lightning struck down, only a small bit in front of her. She was then looking at a blue female dragon. Lightning danced over her scales.
"What is it you want?" She asked.
"I want asnwers." Telana said. "I heard you know where to find them."
"And you are worthy of them why? I've heard about you. You simply can't handle it. Not yet."
"Then you would let innocents die?"
"No, and that's why I say you're not ready for them yet. I know all about you, Telana, queen of the Chosen, the second most powerful clan among your kind. You think you have hope, yet it is only a false hope, until you really understand what it is you want. You hope that a better tomorrow is coming, but that won't do it. You have to know that a better tomorrow is coming."
Telana found nothing to say.
"You might lie to yourself." The blue dragon continued. "But you can't lie to me."
Then she disappeared. Telana felt fear rise inside of her as she then heard voices. She knew those voices. She had heard them before. It had been a long time, but she still remembered them. There was one thing the voices had in common with each other. They all asked for mercy. They all asked to be allowed to keep their lives. Lives she had stolen.

He heard voices. He tried to open his eyes. Nothing. The voices came closer. He tried opening his eyes again. This time, they opened. He didn't see much at first. All was just black with some green lines here and there. Then, he started to make out shapes. Yes, the green lines did make shapes when looked at as a larger picture. The voices where now directly behind him.
"He's awaken." One of them said.
He tried to turn his head around, but couldn't. something held him down.
"Don't worry." The voice continued. "We're soon done... It's just that the last crystal is missing. I should have expected that at least one thing would have gone a little bit wrong considering I'm working with these mortals."
He now recognized the voice. He tried to speak, but couldn't.
"It's not out fault!" Another of the voices said. "In case you haven't noticed, we have been doing exactly as you said. We can't make them go faster when we have no way of talking to them!"
"And what exactly does that mean?" The first voice asked. "Perhaps I need to show you again how superior my powers are to yours."
The other voice was silent.

He felt something touch his neck. He opened his eyes. He closed them again, and then opened them again. Yes, he really did see now. Where once only was black with green lines, he could actually see for real now. He tried to turn his head around. This time, it worked. He saw a green female dragon looking at him.
"How are you?" She asked.
"Fine." He answered. "At least, I am now that I can see you."
Their eyes met.
"You might find it hard to... Get used... To your new body, but trust me. I have personally made sure it is even stronger then your last one. at least enough of you remained so that we could save you."
He saw i now. His back was not what it once had been. Once, it had been covered with green scales. Now, there were some scales here and there, with metal plates covering the rest. He looked at his front legs. The left one was just as it had been before, while the right one was made entirely of the metal. The female dragon sat down next to him.
"Remember, whatever happens." She said. "I will never give up on you. You're a fighter, I know that. And now, I have given you another chance to fight. Tell me, how do you feel about it?"
"There is only one way of saying that." He smiled. "Just show me our enemy, and I will test the strenght of this new body you have given me."
He looked into her eyes again. They were full of the evil happiness he always saw in them before a fight was going to start.
"And so I will, my chosen one." She said. "Your first chance to test it will be to make sure nothing can stop us. The lesser beings who helped me know far to much, they could easily find a way to stop you if they tried and got time to. You could need some fresh blood on your claws anyway. Kill them all."

Not a single one of them had been able to put up a fight. There was one, maybe two, who had tried to hold him back. He had just laughed as he discovered that the metal band on his tail actually held four blades that, when out, reached a little bit further then his tail. As they used their arms and legs to stop his claws, there was simply nothing they could do as he pierced their hearts with the blades. Now, only one remained. He was standing near something that looked like a window made of crystals. Strange symbols were flying across it. He didn't understand them, and he simply didn't care about them. Then, he heard a female voice echoing from the crystals that were sitting in the walls everywhere.
"Security code: Fire activated." It said. "Security measures engaged."
"I do not know what you are hoping to do. Surely, you must realise your end has come." He said.
His target turned around and faced him.
"Yes. I will not live beyond this day. Hopefully, you will end here as well, Bloodstar. Anyway, I am bound by my oaths to do this. even though you won't understand it, we have other enemies who can't be allowed to find this."
"Now that sounds interesting." Bloodstar said. "Or, thinking of it, not."
He finished in a more classic way. A bite in the neck. His head was mostly as it was before, with the exception of a crystal replacing his left eye. He felt the taste of blood in his mouth. It was about time.
"Security activation accepted." The female voice said. "Code: Fire protocol activated."
Suddenly, a blue crystal appeared in the middle of the rom. It was connected to all the other crystals by lightning.
"A Ksias crystal." Bloodstar said. "No need to be a genius to realise that will leave a mark."
It was true his body now was much stronger then it had been before. However, he had already had one body ripped to pieces by an explosion, and that been by a weaker one. He did not really enjoy to flee, but sometimes, one did simply not have any other choice.

The explosion was actually pretty well controlled, despite the power of it. It destroyed everything within the circle, yet nothing outside the wall. Bloodstar felt the shockwave pass through him, already nearly gone. The green female was at his side.
"I knew you would a good job." She said. "But that was beyond what I expected."
"To be honest, they did it for me." He said. "apparently, they want to keep their little things a secret as long as possible."
"Does it matter? The fact is, you did well. Perhaps all is not gone yet. We may stile have a chance to rise out of the ashes." She said.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just to let you all know, a Ksias crystal can, when overloaded with any kind of energy and not controlled, cause really big damage everywhere on a half planet. This won't spoil the story at all, and the chance of me using one of them again is at the moment less then 0.01%. Maybe even lesser.

lol u mad

No, just no. This might be your 'style', but quite frankly it looks like a cluster****. Maybe if you read a book, you'll know what I mean. Your writing is fine with some good descriptions and all, but it's all clumped together.

And learn how to handle criticism, so that next time you don't throw a butthurt fit over something that was meant to help you. Your 'style' isn't wrong, but it looks bad. TYPICALLY, writers leave an extra space to make it seem nicer. They don't go for the whole ****storm kind of writing, cause that attracts a whole bunch of critical people. You didn't like my review? Too bad. Go cry about it somewhere else.

Completely off topic, but I get the feeling that you're feeling really tough behind a computer screen. It's too bad your pre-pubescent legacy doesn't go past your computer chair.

Well, maybe I did overreact a little, but basicly, i've had enough of people wanting me to change myself, so it's a pretty thin line for me on that topic.

Also, just so you know, some of those things looks like insults in my point of view, so thanks for the laugh. whenever I see something I think is an insult, and I see it on computer screen, I LOL. If they weren't meant that way, well, I still got some laughs.

Also, I have a "mind disease" (Don't really know what it's called in english), so I usually overreact to a lot of things. Just FYI.

Blood. There was blood everywhere. She was really swimming in it. No, there was no blood. There had been, but not anymore. Now there were just corpses. No, not corpses. Corpses did not make sounds of pain. She felt something on her neck. Something sharp. There was the blood again. No, it was different. It acted just like blood yet it was completely black. It was her blood. Or whatever it was that had replaced blood when her body became one with the shadows. There was blood everywhere. Black blood. She was drowning in it.

Something landed on her back. It felt like it was a bird. She opened her eyes. All she saw was grass. It was green, not red or black. She lifted her head. The bird was still on her. She turned her head and looked at it. It had a body made of shadows, just like herself. It also looked familiar somehow.
"I see the great queen has finally awakened." It said. "Or, at least who used to be the great queen."
"Who are you? And why do I get this feeling I know you?" She asked.
"You already know my name. But you might have forgotten. My name is Nir." It answered.
"Well then, Nir, how did we get to know each other then?"
"If you're going to trust only one thing I say, then trust this. You do not want to be reminded of that at the moment."
"And that is supposed to mean?"
"That it was during the part of your life you hate most."

Bloodstar looked at the stars. He felt that something was coming. Something he could not explain. He closed his eyes and focused his thoughts. His life has been pretty good this far, except for that explosion. He tried to remember. He knew that Tarina, the green female he had decided to share his life with, had been there. Ever since they realised they both shared the same feelings, it had been impossible for anyone to seperate them. She had been afraid. Then a huge ball of flame. It had been behind him. At least he had managed to put himself between her and whatever it had been in time. He looked a his right front leg. Then he looked closer. Yes, there was something green there. That was interesting. He wondered if they had intended it or not. Whatever the answer to that was, he hoped it meant what he thought it meant. That would make some things in the future much easier.

There was fire all around him. His scales, usually green and blue, were red from the blood. The fire clame closer, then it all vanished into him. It had served it's purpose. He would clear up the rest by himself. All around him he could see life. They were simple animals. They were weak and would probably not survive another day. Yet they lived. The very fact that they lived caused him pain. Wherever he looked, he could see life. It burned his eyes. It was as if torches were pressed into his eyes. He went over to the closest torch. His claws pierced through everything it had for protection. Soon, it was put out. He smiled as he went over to the next one. Soon, everything was dark. It was meant to bee this way. He knew it. Wherever there was life, he would extinguish it. And then the darkness would come, and everything would be good again. Yes. This was the way. This was the only way. There was no other. Life had to be extinguished.

"Basily, I'm here because someone came to me and told me to find you." Nir said.
"And who was that?" Telana asked.
"I don't know. Asking who someone is is not the first thing that comes to my mind when that someone has his claws towards my neck." The bird answered.
"Doesn't sound like I really should trust you then, does it?"
"No, it doesn't. But, because of some things you did to me, I have no choice but to obey you now that we're together again."
They looked at each other for a long time. It appeared as if the bird didn't really care what she thought about it or did to it. A few minutes passed. Then Telana decided to break the silence.
"Fine then. I will let you decide. Go back and hope he doesn't get to angry, or come with me." She said.

She was trying to sleep when Nir landed on her back again.
"Of what I saw the first time I met him, I guess he doesn't like to say things twice." He said.
Telana smiled. Perhaps the small bird could prove useful. Sometimes, you just needed someone that was smaller then you to accomplish some things.

Once again, someone had liad bloodflowers outside her cave. This time, there also was a small red bird. A firesnapper, she thought it was called. She knew that was a very rare catch. One could normally expect to see at most one during a single life. Sometimes not even that. Now things begun to become really interesting. Was it still the same one as before, or was it someone else? And still, whoever had done it had not wanted to reveal himself yet. Could it possibly be someone from another clan? She then noticed something on the bird. It was a small claw mark on it's neck. Normally, it would not mean anything. But the position and angle of the cut did mean something to her. She had seen it before. She knew that in her clan, there was only one who killed that way. She just had to watch him.

She opened her eyes. The first thing she saw was those of Nir.
"So you're awake." He said. "And, based on your smile, I think you slept pretty well to."
"Yes." She said. "It's the second time my dreams are about before... All that."
"I know." He looked down at the ground. "You must excuse me, but... I have a habit of... Sensing... Things from others while they sleep. I'm working on it, but... It's hard to control."
She laughed. He gave her a confused look.
"You're not angry?" He said finally.
"Not at all." She answered. "Well, at least I won't be unless you tell someone to much."
"I promise, none will hear it from me." He said.
"Then I'm afraid I will have to... Silence... None before it spreads further."
Now Nir was laughing as well.

Dark. Everything was dark. That was good. It meant it was just as he had left it. The warnings he had put outside had worked. He heard something behind him. He turned around. It was still dark, yet he knew that something was there.
"I don't know how you hide from me." He said. "But if you come out now, I might consider letting you leave with wounds instead of without life."

The green and blue dragon had made one misstake. Actually, two. The first was that he thought to be able to hurt her.
"Whatever happens, I still won't be able to leave with my life." She said, and then started to laugh.

The sound was like nothing he had heard before. Normally, when someone laughed and he heard it, it caused him pain. This, however, was nothing like it. It was completely different. He walked towards where the sound came from. Now he could make out some shapes. He went a little closer.
It looked like a dragon. However, he had never seen anything like this before. Where the heart would usually be found, a black crystal hovered. The eyes were replaced with yellow orbs, and a thin red layer of energy had replaced each wing.
"I've been looking for you for a really long time." The skeletal dragon said.

It was night. However, for her, it might just as well have been during the middle of the day. She could easily see him. She followed him carefully, hiding behind bushes, moving from shadow to shadow. She didn't really like sneaking around, but she knew it was the only way to really find out. And so she followed him like a shadow in the night. One way or another, she would find out the truth.

He stopped next to a statue of what looked like a snake with wings. She had never been here before, and had never heard of it. The creature was also unfamiliar to her.

He could only see one bloodflower. That didn't surprise him so much. It was the one he had left last night. He carefully picked it up. This would be his last chance. The other times, he had not had the courage to wait for her, he had just left it all outside her cave. He had to make sure everything was perfect this time. One misstake now, and all would be lost.
That he had found so many in this place told him that a great battle had been fought here, perhaps greater then any of those he had heard of. For so many bloodflowers to grow, the amount of blood spilled must have been unimaginable. The only question was, why had he never been told about it? Nobody knew anything about this place or the statue of the mysterious creature.
He heard something behind him. He quickly turned around. He stopped immediatly, as if struck by lightning.

"That's a beautiful flower you got there." She said, trying to sound as if she had no interest in it at all. "But hardly worth going this far for in the middle of the night, won't you agree?"
He didn't seem to notice it. She smiled.
"I saw you sneak away." She continued. "I got curious as to why."
This time he reacted. He smiled back at her.
"Well, you are right..." He said. "It's not worth it alone. Luckily, it's not for the flower alone that i came here."
"I see. Is there perhaps someone else included in all this?" She asked.
"Yes." He answered. "It's for... Someone else."
He hadn't noticed that the distance between them had decreased.
"Well, would you mind me telling me who, or do I have to guess?" She looked at his eyes. They immediatly answered her question.
"Let's just say she's the best queen our clan could ever have hoped for." He said as he laid the flower on her head.

"I know a lot about you." She said. "It's not that hard to hear stories about you... The one who sees every hiding spot. That's what most call you."
He couldn't take his eyes away from her. He had never before seen something like this. The yellow orbs were turned towards him. He felt as if they saw through him completely.
"Also..." She continued. "I've heard that you have a... Let's call it memory... Of a certain... Dragon with a very unusual bond."
"Sundeath." He managed to say.
"Yes, that is his name."
He finally was able to look away. This was not something he found easy to talk about. The memories about it still haunted him. It had not been the first time he had lost a battle, but it had been the last. And the prize had been greater then he could ever have imagined.
"He took it all away from me. He took my brother... My friends... Everything." The words were hard to speak.
"Yes. That is what he does. He hurts us were we feel it the most. He is beyond saving. The binding goes to deep. I've seen it myself."
At first, he wondered what she meant. Then it hit him.
"He's the one... Responsible for... This?" He asked.
"Yes. He does not seek to create a kingdom of darkness. He does not want the world to burn around him. He has been corrupted by power, and it is all he wants. You know this, Stardeath. He was once your brother. You nearly became what he is now."
He looked at the yellow orbs that were her eyes. He knew what she would say.
"You're the one who have been closest to him. You know how he fights... And, just like me, you want him to be dead, no matter the cost."

Telana opened her eyes. She only saw darkness. It was quiet. She knew she was alone. She was alone? She wondered where the bird was. Then she remembered her dream. Perhaps it was good that he was not there after all. She heard something at the cave entrance. When she looked, it was Nir. He landed next to her.
"I'm sorry for sneaking away without leaving a message of some sort, but I was hungry." He said.
She smiled. It was obvious to her that he knew at least something.
"What is it?" She asked.
He looked at her. At first, his face showed surprise, then he realised that she knew that he knew.
"Only that you saw a statue of a strange creature, and that he gave you a flower." He answered.
She looked at him, wondering if that really was all he knew. But still, she felt happy right now, and she intended to have that last for as long as possible.

Tarina closed her eyes. She saw the explosion in front of her. So much knowledge had been lost with it. Knowledge that could have aided in saving countless of lives. What had they been thinking, destroying it all just so nobody would know they had all that? True, they could have become a danger in the future, but she had personally made sure all information about Bloodstar had already been destroyed. He had taken care of those who knew it in their minds. Nothing was left there that could put them at danger. She had hoped the rest of all that knowledge could have been used to save others. She opened her eyes again and looked at the sky. They were so different, yet there were no other they could be with. While she would prefer to let everyone who could not be a danger to them to live, Bloodstar seemed to enjoy just destroying everything he could. They had tried to meet on the middle, but sometimes it was as if he became someone else. As if he was possessed or something. She didn't really like it. However, she would have to remain loyal and trust him. He had saved her life more then one time. She could still picture the last time he had done it. He had sacrificed himself to protect her. Seeing parts of his body scattered around everywhere had been terrible. She remembered the rage that she had felt. For the first, and hopefully last, time ever, she had not cared about who was innocent or not. She had hurt some of those who had been helping them, but only at times when it felt as if they were stuck with no way out. She had hurt them, yes, but not killed them. Not before that day. She closed her eyes again. If only there was a solution to all this. If only there was some way they both could be happy. She wondered why they had chosen each other, sharing only a few things with each other besides their color and feelings for each other. Why was life so complicated sometimes?

He opened his eyes. He was not alone. That was strange. Most would flee at the first sign of him being in the area. Except for one, but that had been in the past. He looked around, but didn't see anyone.
"I give you one chance to show yourself now, before I make a volcano feel like ice compared to this cave." He said.
"Calm down, Fireblade." A voice said. Or, should I say Emberlore?"
A black dragon appeared in front of him.
"I no longer bear that name! It was long ago I lost the right to bear it!" Fireblade said.
The black one looked at him.
"Yes, but that does not mean anything. I'm sure you've heard about Telana." He said.
"She has nothing to do with this!" Fireblade said. "She has earned that right back."
"And you did that even before you lost it." The black dragon said. "I remember tales of a red dragon, one who used to be a hero. A red dragon who completely mastered the flame. A hero who saved countless of those who were to young to defend themselves. Are you going to just give all that up?"
Fireblade looked at him. He knew there was only one who had ever dared to speak to him in this way.
"Darksky." He said. "You have changed since we last met."
"Yes, I have been... Temporarily freed." Darksky said.
"You still know I will not go back. Not to save them. They killed my family. The only one I had to take care of me where a friend of my parents, and he died shortly after I had hatched!"
He looked away. Darksky walked around him, once again looking into his eyes.
"Fireblade, wake up! don't you see what's happening to you? You always said that the suffering you have felt should not be for anyone. You said that was the reason for what you did. Yet, already here is an echo of darkness greater then what you fought. Your suffering will soon be nothing compared to what it will do."
Fireblade looked at him. Images played around in his head. He fought his way out of his egg. He had fun playing and didn't notice how far he wandered away. He saw his friend lying dead. The fire that had been made earlier. How it reached for those who had killed him. How the entire island had been set ablaze. How it left him untouched.
"They hate me." He finally managed to say. "Everyone hates me for what I've done. How would they see that I no longer will hurt them?"
"Because, you, like me, are two beings in one body." Darksky said as he smiled. "They will not see Ember Fireblade coming to reshape their world with fire. They will see Emberlore, a hero from stories that are now forgotten."
A minute passed. Then two.
"Tell me... Exactly what is it you want me to do?" Emberlore finally said.

Just so you know, it is actually I who used Emberlores name when I first joined this place. If you got any questions I'll try to answer them as best as I can.

If there was any place she really hated, it would be these cliffs. Every day, more of them fell down into the ocean of fire that raged below. She hated it, not because it was easy to fall down with the cliffs, but because it was a reminder of how their world was slowly falling apart. There was no way to avoid it. It would take time, yes, but in the end, the last one of them to survive would be the one who could stay in the air the longest. No escape existed. She knew they had been banished here for some reason. She knew not why, but it could impossibly be worth this punishment. She heard something and looked down. It was a bird. It was lying on the edge. It looked at her as if begging for her to help it. She saw that it's wings were broken. She could carry it away, try to help it. Normally, she would do that.
This was not a normal day. She only helped it with a quick death, free from pain. She licked the blood off her claws as another part of the cliffs fell down. One day, she would be standing on one of those parts. Someone walked up next to her. She knew his name. It was Silver.
"Telana, I wanted to tell you, but you know I couldn't. What the council decides is only for the council to know until it is revealed to all." He said.
She looked at him. At first, he had told her in riddles. A innocent word here, a quick look there, and she could easily guess what they had been talking about. Recently, it was as if he had tried to make it harder, to finally stop completely.
"That have never been a problem before." She said.
"Before, we never touched something like this!" He said. "What would happen if we told this to others before they were prepared? Chaos would happen, that's what. I know you're one of those who believes we can prove we deserve better then this place, that they will come and allow us to come back, but it won't happen! They simply just don't want us there! If we are to survive, we have to fight! We have to show them that they can't keep us away from what once belonged to us!"
She looked away. She did not like this. They would no longer be fighting animals that had been mutated by the raw energies starting to run chaos in this land, but dragons. Other dragons. They had been fighting with each other sometimes, but it was not deadly. Younglings playing, two friends training with each other. Never with the intention of killing.
"Silver, this is not our way." She said. "Can't you see that? There's something happening to your friends, even to you. We have killed, yes, but only animals. And now, you want us to kill beings above that? Even other dragons? When will you wake up? When will you wake up and see that this is wrong?"
Silence came. All that was heard was the sound of the fire and the cliffs cracking and falling down. Eventually, Silver broke the silence.
"This is our way, Telana." He said. "Our way is about surviving. If we stay here, we can't survive at all. If we do this, we will survive. Yes, some of us will fall, but their sacrifice will not be in vain. Our clan is without doubt the one who would best be able to prepare a way for the rest. We have a choice here! We can sit here and wait until the fire has consumed this land completely, or we can fight, knowing that even if we die, our kind will survive as a whole. I know what I will choose. How about you?"
She walked away and closed her eyes. She felt the tears come. He was right. They had to do this, or they would all die eventually. She knew what to choose. She would have to make sure her clan was ready. If they weren't, it all would be for nothing.

"I never knew." Nir said.
Telana opened her eyes and looked at the bird.
"I could never have guessed that." He continued.
"That was when it started." She said. "That was the day darkness claimed us all. That was the day we showed we still deserved to die in that world."

The storm was raging fully now. Three times, she was struck by lightning. She turned her head and looked at the yellow dragon. When the storm came, his face had been that of a clear winner. Now, it was that of someone who just realised they knew nothing at all.
"You simply cannot defeat me." She said. "I told you, there is nothing you can do to hurt me. While I have nearly infinite ways to hurt you."
He was angry now. She could see that. Once more he shot lightning towards her. This time, she simply put a claw in it's way. Upon contact, the lightning returned to him even stronger. The blast sent him flying backwards.
"Do you now see what I am?" She said. "While you may be able to force lightning to strike your opponents, it is nothing compared to what I can do. I was chosen by the storm. I AM the storm. And soon, your friends will see what I have become. Go back and tell them. Tell them that I return."
She did not have to tell him twice.

"Ok, would you mind telling me what in the burning exile THAT was about?" Nir said.
Telana looked at him. She was a little surprised at his reaction to her latest dream. As far as her current memories carried, it was the first time he said something like that.
"I've seen her once before." She said. "I needed answers... I heard about someone who knows the answer to every question. I managed to find a way to talk to her, but apparently she doesn't think I'm ready for the answers yet."
Nir looked at the river. The way he was standing gave Telana an idea. She couldn't help but smile as she carefully walked closer to him.
"Apparently..." He said. "She have a connection similar to someone else I know. I think you can guess who I'm talking about."
He never saw it coming. One second, he was looking at the small river. The next, he was swimming in it.
"Yes, I can guess that." She said. "And when you're done with your bath, there's something I need you to do for me."

She was chained to the ground. She tried to break out. Lightning nearly struck her head. A blue and yellow dragon walked up to her.
"You should not have returned." He said. "This time, you will not be allowed to live."
"Save your breath." She managed to say. "You will need it to scream when my clan finds you."
"Yes, your clan." He laughed. "I would be really surprised if they could defeat us, seeing how few you have become."
Now it was her turn to laugh. She was telling them to much, she knew it, but she could not help it. It was to late for them to stop it. She smiled.
"Yes, we are few right now." She said. "But soon, it will be a little more even. Your friend was not really so willing to work with me, but I still managed to find a way for the others."
Everyone looked at her now. This was it. Even in death, she would win.
"There is at least one thing we share with each other." She continued. "We are both dragons. Both of us have, as my kind calls it, burning blood. I've found a weak link in whatever it is you used to banish us."
Everyone came closer now. They wanted to know. Of course they wanted to know. If only they knew it would not help them to know. It was to late.
"What are you talking about?" He asked. "Tell me, and your death will be a quick one."
"A death without pain? Is that all? You make me laugh." She said. "I have already suffered to much. I am not afraid of dying in pain. But I will tell you anyway, you can no longer stop it."
Some looked surprised, some looked terrified. The blue and yellow one looked as if he didn't believe anything.
"The weakness is inside you." She continued. "Your friends are not dead yet. We have taken as many prisoners as we can. Tonight, it happens. Tonight your friends will die. And as their blood covers the ground, my kind will come! We will defeat our enemies with their own blood!"
She felt something inside of her. There was something with the last thing she had said. Everyone now looked as if they were scared by what she had said. Except for one. She felt something hit her neck, and then everything went dark.

Dark. Everything was dark. She could not see anything. This was not how she had expected it to be like. Then she heard something. A voice.
"Telana." It said. "You have served me well. Yet I think there is more you would be able to do for me."
She remembered the voice. She had heard it once before. It was the voice that had told her how she could take her clan to this world. From what it had told, and other things she had heard, she had guessed it had been this voice that had told the council all about how there was a chance for them to escape.
"I want to help you more." The voice continued. "Yet if I do so, they will be able to find me. And then, all will be over. However, there is one thing I can do for you."
This was starting to sound interesting. She had heard that there were ways to trick death, but she had no idea how. Based on her last memories, she hoped she would finally get to know at least one way.
"And what might that be?" She asked.
"I needed time to gather my strenght enough to do this, otherwise some of your losses would have been avoided." The voice said. "But now, I am ready. Your story is not yet over, Telana. You will rise again, and lead your kind in battle. Of your kind, you have the greatest knowledge about our enemies. Now, it is time to use it. I give you the gift of immortality! I give you the power to command the shadows! You will become one with them, carrying powers others may only dream of! You will be the first of a kind!"
She saw visions now. A village. It was on fire. Everywhere was blood. The corpses of their enemies could be seen wherever she looked. And in the middle was something. It looked to be made completely out of shadows. Then she heard it speak.
"Look at what we can do! We did this, all by ourselves! Soon, nothing can stand against us!" It said with her voice.

"If you want me to help you." Stardeath said. "You will have to at least tell me your name. How else could I really trust you?"
"Yes, I see your point." She said. "However, if I really intended to hurt you, there would have been little you could have done to stop me anyway."
He looked at the orbs that had replaced her eyes. There was something with them. He could not look away from them until he found her claws towards his neck.
"You see?" She continued. "Your powers help you fight the living. The same goes for me. However, the difference between us, is that you are the only living one of us two."
She backed away a few steps.
"I get it." He said. "So basicly, you mean I should trust you because you haven't killed me yet?"
"Exactly." She answered. "However, since I know your name, it's only fair that I tell you mine. It's Garnaal."

Daylight came. Telana opened her eyes. She had no idea where she was. There was something that was wrong besides that. It was as if some part of her wanted her to travel in a specific direction. She decided to obey that part. It was better then doing nothing anyway.

The night had already begun when she landed. She now knew where she was. She looked at the statue. It almost felt as if the winged snake was looking at her. She felt something behind her. She turned around. Something hit her head, and everything went dark again.

She opened her eyes again. This time, she kew instantly where she was. It was a year since she first came to here. A year since she had taken her first breath on this world. She heard something behind her and turned around.
"My queen, how are you?" Silver asked.
There was something about him that was not normal. As if he was afraid of something.
"I think I am." She said. "Yet I have no idea how."
She looked at her claws. Then she closed her eyes, opened them, and looked at her claws again. Yes, they definitely looked as if they were made completely out of shadows. Now she understood why he acted like that.
"What does this mean? I have never seen something like this before." He said.
She smiled. The voice had said she would be the first of a kind. So far, it appeared to be true.
"It means that we have a secret advantage." She said. "So far, everything he said appears to be true."
"Who?" Silver asked.
"Nevermind." She said. "Have you opened the way for the others?"
"Yes." He said. "Some of them are already here."
She closed her eyes. It had worked. Everything had said it would work, but it had been impossible to relax completely until it was proved.
"Good." She said. "If there are any prisoners over, take them to my cave. I want to see exactly what I am capable of."
"Yes my queen."

As he walked away, there was nothing he could do to hide his smile. Everything was going just as they had planned.

The shadows were hiding him, just as the voice had promised. That voice. There was something with it. He knew that whatever it was, it was powerful and ancient. He heard something behind him. He turned around and saw a white dragon.
"Who are you?" He asked.
"My name is Silver." The white one answered. "And yours is?"
Before he even could take another breath, Silver found claws pressing against his neck.
"I would prefer to not tell you." He said. "Where is it? I don't have all day. Soon this place will turn into a bloodbath, and I don't enjoy swimming."
Silver closed his eyes. A second later, a fiery orb appeared in front of him.

Things was not going exactly as planned. The black one had a much smaller patience then he had expected. It did not make much difference, but the claws against his neck felt uncomfortable. The sooner this was done, the sooner he could start to forget about this.
"Give me your name and I will give it to you." He said.
The black one smiled.
"You just can't get a clue, huh? Very well, I will tell you." He said. "I do not bear this name right now, but one day, I intend to be called Darksky. And I got a very good reason for choosing that. You'll see."
He put the orb down. He did not like this dragon at all. He flew the fastest he could, yet he felt as if it still was to slow.

He looked at the orb. He knew abot the power that was inside it. He knew that if he took it, he would abandon everyone he cared for and everyone who had cared for him. He would have taken the power even if it was lesser then what it was. He looked around. He could not take. Not here. He needed to be somewhere that he could be sure to be alone. There was a mountain not to far away. It would have to do.
He did not see the small shadow following him.

Nir opened his eyes. Was this really all he was supposed to do? He thought it was boring. At least that time there had been some danger. This time he would not have to fear a painful death if he was found. Finding out who the black dragon was, what he wanted the orb for and if he could be danger had been something worthy for him to do. Spying on someone who would not even get angry at him was not that interesting. It lacked the challenge. He hoped there would be something happening that would help him stay awake. Based on what he had seen this far, it was not likely. He prepared for a boring night. What could possibly go wrong?

He closed his eyes and opened them again. Nothing changed. He could hardly believe it. Once again he was spying on Silver and Darksky. The question was what it was about this time. He did not see any way to get close enough to hear them. He tried looking for one again. He had a feeling this could be interesting. That feeling quickly changed to surprise as something that felt like fire touched his back. Everything went dark.

The black dragon landed outside a cave. Nir landed behind some stones. He enjoyed this. It was clear that if he was found, it would end really bad for him. He loved deadly challenges.

The orb was shaking a little now. As if the powers inside wanted to get out. Darksky smiled. This was what he had been waiting for. All his life he had searched for something like this, and now he finally had it. He smashed the orb into the ground. It shattered to an uncountable amount of pieces. The flames inside it surrounded him. It went through him, burning him, purifying him. He felt a rush of power from it. Some of his scales turned red, forming lines in mysterious patterns. He felt as if his blood turned was turned to fire. The world itself was shattering around him. It was remade. A world where he would rule, where only his thought would make anything happen. Then it all stopped. He noticed his eyes were closed and opened them. Everything was as it had been before, except for his red scales. No, not everything. He felt something inside of him. Or rather, someone. Then he realised. The power was not his. It was greater then anything he could handle. The voice had realised this to, and found a solution to it. The power was to much for one to handle, but not for two. He could feel whoever it was. Then a name passed into his thoughts. Sundeath. A fitting name for a being with that power. They would have to be careful. That power could be dangerous to him. To them. They decided to only use it when absolutely necessary. If they even could learn how to use it properly. The voice had not managed to find out how to do that. But it had done enough for them. They smiled. The voice was no longer needed. And one day, they would be stronger then it. One day, they would remake the world.

Once, she had loved the feeling of sunrays warming her. Now, she could no longer feel them. She put her right wing in front of her eyes. She could still everything, but as if through a blood-red fog. She closed her eyes. To her, it was just like if she had normally closed them. To everyone else, it looked as if the yellow orbs that had replaced them simply disappeared. She soon started to calm down. Slowly. The red energy that allowed her to fly slowly faded away. The crystal that had replaced her heart soon followed. Her wing bones hit the ground. If anyone was looking now, they would simply think of her as a dead skeleton. However, that was simply because they could not see her mind.

Dying. She was dying, and she knew it. Her body was covered with wounds, blood was flowing from all of them. Her once yellow scales were red from blood. All the blood belonged to her. She could see the other dragon. He was black with red lines across his body. It looked as if his body was made by colored flames. The only blood on him was on his claws.
"Still trying to fight? Just accept it, it's over!" He said. "There is nothing that can save you now! We won't be stopped. Not by anyone!"
She made a final attempt to strike him. A beam of yellow energy, powerful enough to turn nearly anything into a pile of ash, hit him in the head. He just laughed as he walked closer to her, clearly unaffected.
"You... will ultimately... Fail..." She said, every breath a pain. "You will... Die... One day..."
He just smiled at her. She did not like that smile. It reminded her to much of how some of her friends had toyed with their prey when they were young.
"No, we will not." He said. "We will live on forever. We can't be defeated, and we won't die for any other reason."
She did not like this. As far as she knew, she was the only one who had survived more then a few seconds against him. She had to find a way to escape, to tell the others about him. If they only knew more about him, they would be able to defeat him. From what she had seen, she knew that. She closed her eyes. The second before her neck was ripped apart by his claws, she disappeared. Where she once had been, there was now only a little insect.
"How interesting." He said. "Unfortunately, it won't work for you."
She felt pain. It felt as if she was dying over and over every second.
"I have plans for you." He continued. "You will aid me by protecting yourself. Know that I am he who will make the skies themselves become dark. One day, everyone will call me Darksky. However, you deserve to know who I also am."
She was back in her dragon form now. She could not keep up the insect shape. She should have been dead by now. She could see her body slowly falling apart. Soon, there was a pile of scales, flesh and blood beneath her, and it continued to grow.
"You'll... Regret... This..." She said, knowing she was probably wrong.
"No, i won't." He said. "I don't regret anything. I am Sundeath! I am he who feeds on the energies of the stars. I am he who will remake this world! And, most importantly, I am he who will curse you forever!"
Pain. There was pain. Almost as if he had been ripping her to pieces with his claws. Something was wrong. She fell down on the ground. One of her wings was in front of her. Only the bones remained. Then, something. A thin red layer of energy. It slowly spread. Soon, it had replaced everything of her wing except for the bones. She felt new energy flow through her body. She tried to stand up. She managed to. She turned her head around and looked at her body. What she saw terrified her. Nothing remained except for the skeleton. And her heart. It somehow hovered in place. Then it changed. It became completely black. It changed to a more crystal-looking shape. She looked at Sundeath. He still had that smile.
"Our power knows no limit" He said. "I welcome you back, Garnaal. Perhaps one day, you will once again be able to make my day a little more entertaining. But for now, live on with the knowledge that you'll never be welcomed anywhere. You will need to defend yourself against your former friends. You will help me of your own will, and hate it. You are now one of the cursed. Not living, but not completely dead. Now go, and prepare yourself for when next we meet. I look forward to a worthy challenge."
Then he was gone. She looked around. Nothing alive remained. Then she looked to the sky. At that same time, she felt the first raindrops fall on her. No tears came from her. She simply no longer had any. But she didn't need to. The sky itself was crying for her.

I won't be writing so much more about Darksky/Sundeaths past in here, however I'm also writing another story with him that takes place before this one, with the exception of some memories.

http://clawofshadow.webs.com/a...darkness?page=1

You'll also find out more about one of the other characters in here. Also, there's one thing about him there that you won't be able to find out anywhere else. It might be a little challenging to figure out what it means exactly, and if you manage to, it might be a little bit confusing, but I'm going to explain it eventually.

She could not believe it. Her whole life had been a lie. All the pain, suffering and death. Only because of a few who thirsted for power. She could not believe it. Yet she knew it was true. Everyone had confirmed it. The small shadowbird, Nir, was sitting next to her. Silver was lying down in front of her. The ground was covered with blood. Other dragons were all around them. Some white, some made of shadows, and some of all different colors. It felt as if she was just dreaming. As if it was not reality. But it was, and she knew it. Her whole life had been a lie, but now she could see the truth. Now she could see how she had been manipulated. Manipulated by those who had been the reason for her kind to be banished so long ago. She could now see the blood of the one she had loved on Silvers claws. She could see the blood of innocents on her own. She could feel the pain of all those around her. It was there because of her. It was to much for her. She did not even think as she opened her wings. The world was rushing past her. All she could see was colors arranged in strange patterns. Her thoughts were running wild, she was unnable to focus them. She had at first thought they had been punished to hard. Now, she could only think of how she had done what she had hated the most.

Tales quickly spread about the shadow in the sky. None had been able to see it clearly, yet everyone knew who it was. Days became weeks that became months. The newcomers settled down at distant mountains. Slowly, wounds started to heal. Months slowly turned into years.

She knew not how long time had passed. She did not care. Her landing would leave most with broken bones through the entire body. She no longer had any to break, and she would not have cared even if she had. Nothing mattered to her anymore. If she could, she would just lie down and die. But she could not. Not any longer. She would need help from someone else to end it. But she could not think of asking anyone to end her suffering. Not after the suffering she had forced others to endure. She wondered if there was any way for her to return to the world where she had hatched. If anyone deserved to be there, it would be her. She heard something behind her. She knew who it was. She did not care.
"Telana, you must wake up." Nir said. "Nearly everyone is ready to forgive you, but you do not let them do so."
She could not speak. All she could think of was the blood of all those that had died because of her.
"You're to hard on yourself." The bird continued. "As I said, they are ready to forgive you if you only allow them to. You should not be proud of what you have done, that is right, but it's no reason to blame yourself entirely. You can not change how you were raised."
She turned around and looked at him.
"They are ready to forgive you. I just wanted you to know."
With that, the little bird flew away. She knew not if she would ever see him again, and she cared not. But he had managed to do what he had come for. She could feel a tiny seed of hope grow inside her. Perhaps there was still a chance.
"Thank you, Nir." She said silently. "You truly are worthy of carrying his name."

Telana opened her eyes. So long time had passed since that day. So long time had passed since Nir came to her to say goodbye. So long time had passed since she had felt that there could be a chance. He had been right. Everyone had been ready to forgive her.
Silver had changed. He had one day just collapsed, and ever since been different. At first, he had tried to break free of the chains that held him. After that day, however, he had just appeared to give up. One time his claws had been covered by blood. He had also been covered by wounds everywhere on his body. In secret, she gave him another chance. It turned out to be the right thing to do. She could not forgive him entirely, but it was clear that he no longer cared about only himself.
Everyone else who had been part of the council was dead. Only Silver and one other had survived. That other had been manipulated just like her. He was young. His parents had died before it all begun. Just like Nir had been killed. He had been to young to lead them, yet he was the only one who could. They had been locked in old traditions, and as such, they had been manipulated easily.
She closed her eyes. So much had happened. She had never seen that memory before. It was the end to a chapter. It was the beginning of a new age. The only question was what it could mean.

She opened her eyes again at the sound of thunder. Everything was dark.
"Your life has been most interesting to watch." A female voice said behind her. "The darkness you rised up against still echo through these lands. Everything has been set in motion. The wheels turn, the sand falls through the hourglass. You once rised up from the ashes and secured a better future."
She turned around and saw the blue dragon. The blue dragon that was rumored to have an answer to every question. The blue dragon that was one with the storm.
"Your journey has been filled with darkness, Telana." She continued. "But even from darkness can light once more rise. Now it is time. Both those who serve the dark and those who serve the light have been prepared. War is once again coming to this world. You have now once more seen the moments of your life that have been turning points. Now comes one more. You can choose to live on in peace... Or, you can once again make a difference."
The blue dragon walked up to her. Slowly, light started to appear. They were in a cave. There were two large orbs in front of her. One was black and the other was green. In one she could see death, in the other life. They were both part of her she knew. She was walking between them. It would be for the others she would have to choose.
"Your clan follows you whatever your choice is." The blue dragon continued. "You know that. However, there are other things you do not know. Make your choice. Will they fight with hatred in their hearts, or with love? Make yor choice, and I will answer any question you have."
She closed her eyes. She would have to think carefully. What would happen to those who had been reborn if she chose life? What would happen to them? Her kind had a connection to darkness, it was how they could come back. If she chose life, would they die again? Would she force some to once more see those they love die? The thought was to much for her. She opened her eyes. And then she saw it. They could not choose light or darkness. They could not choose life or death. Both were parts of them. They needed both. There was only one option. She had not seen it before, but now she could. She picked up both orbs. They disappeared. She looked at the blue dragon. She was smiling at her.
"Your choice." She continued. "Is what I hoped for."

The night was dark. Danger could be hiding anywhere, and it would be nearly impossible to detect it before it was to late. A bird landed. It was large enough to scare away any possible enemy, and it's eyes had adapted to the night, seeing where others could not. That, however, did not save it from a creature that not only used the night to hide, but was part of the night itself. The bird did not even get a chance to feel something sharp press against it's neck.

All of her scales were covered with dirt. It had been far to long since they last got a chance to rest. But now it was over. They could no longer run. They would have to stay, or they would loose everything. All she could do now was to wait. And since she had nothing to else to do, she decided the dirt had travelled far enough with her help.

She looked at her scales. No longer hidden by dirt, they were red like the blood of life.
She heard something from outside. A male, black like the night itself, came inside. In his mouth, he was carrying a large bird.
"I see the great hunter has returned." She said. "But not with anything more interesting then a bird."
He dropped the bird on the ground in front of her and gave her a smile.
"There is not much else to hunt, Zirozzi." He said. "But if you want to, feel free to try."
"Oh come on Xarago." She said. "You're taking all of this to seriously. It's been weeks since I had anything fun, you should at least pretend to be trying to let me have some."
"You are allowed to have fun if you want to." He said. "But don't you think you have more important things to do?"
They both turned their eyes to the egg sheltered under her wing.
"If they find us again, we can no longer run." He continued. "It would not survive. Our only hope would be to fight against them, and win. While I'm the better hunter of us, I can not even dream of the advantage you would have in a real battle. Especially since they would probably be more then one."
"I know." She said. "It's just that... Why must it be like this?"
"Because they fear us." He answered. "They do not know our true powers, they do not know which side we will choose, and therefore, they fear us. They know what our child will be, drawing strength not only from one, but two sources. And therefore, they fear us."
She nodded her head. She knew this. Yet she could not believe it. She looked at her scales again. They were still red like blood. The blood of life. The blood that nearly every living creature had. The blood that her powers were based of. Xaragos scale color showed also where he called on his powers from. The night itself. She knew the prophecies. She wondered if anyone did not know them. When they had first realised their feelings for each other, the prophecies had sounded very interesting. Now, she hated them. Inside the egg, the little hatchling was still sleeping. But it was not that long until it would wake up and break free. It would combine their powers and something else would awaken as well. Something that have been sleeping for a long time. Soon, for the first time in years beyond counting, the world would see a dragon of the Double Moon again.

She heard something. She opened her eyes, but did not see anything out of the normal. The sound came again. Now she heard where it came from. She smiled as she looked at the egg. Then, a tiny crack appeared on it.

She felt it in her entire body. She opened her eyes. Everywhere around her was darkness. That was not a problem. With a thought, the entire cave bathed in light. She looked at one of the walls. It was covered by symbols. Some of the things described had already happened. There was a bolt of lightning crossing a sun. She remembered that day. There were more symbols. A half sun, a drop of blood, a dragon standing between a sun and a moon. Then she found what she was looking for. It was an egg with two moons and a hourglass. That was the egg that was hatching. That was the power she had felt. She smiled.
"And so." She said to herself. "The story of the protector has begun. What path will she choose? Her very being is going between light and dark, using them both. Which one will she serve, if any at all? How will she react to the things bound to happen to her? And, which is more important at the moment, how will the path of her mother be? Will it be a happy one, or forever darkened by what will soon happen?"
Her smile faded away as she looked at the next set of symbols. She did not like it, but she could not stop it. If she did, all she had worked for would be lost. Even so, it pained her even to only look at them. A broken heart and two skulls.
"Be strong, Shadowmoon. Time itself is counting on you."
The light disappeared. Everything went dark again. The only thing that could be heard were that of tears falling on the stone floor.

It was quiet. To quiet. Zirozzi opened her eyes. Xarago was sleeping, as was their daughter. They still had to think of a name. She had been thinking of many names, but none that really was fitting. That was when she heard something. Xarago opened his eyes. Apparently, it was not her imagination. It sounded like footsteps. And it was coming from the cave entrance. Something was wrong. She remembered once when she would hear anyone coming before they even reached the mountain. She was scared. Not because that there was something she didn't know about out there, not because she or the one she had chosen might get hurt, but because this was unusual. It was strange, and there had been a lot of strange things going on recently. Only a few of it had been good things.
"You must leave." Xarago said.
She looked at him. Inside her, she felt hatred at those who hunted them.
"No!" She said. "I will not go! It has been to long since my claws last tasted the blood of our enemies!"
"This is not about you, Zirozzi! It's about her!" He said, as he pointed at their daughter. "It's her they're after! Take her and go! I will follow."
Lies. He was lying, she could see it in his eyes. He had no intention to follow. He intended to give his life so they would get time to get away.
"Take care of her." He continued. "Remember, whatever happens... My heart will always be yours."
With that, he charged out into the night. There were screams of pain. Both from him and from voices she did not know. She knew he was already lost. There was nothing she could do for him. For a moment, she thought of joining the fight. But it was his last wish that she would take care of their daughter. She looked at the small shape lying next to her. Their daughter. She carefully picked her up. The sound of battle was more distant now. It sounded as if it was continuing to move away. She looked outside. She managed to see something in the distance. It was a dragon black as the night, but she had learned to see him even in the darkest of places. Something was following him. He was fleeing, but slowed down enough so the thing that was chasing him would not give up. She looked away. There was nothing she could do anyway. With her eyes filled by tears, she flew away in the opposite direction. Everything was silent. Then another scream. She knew who it was. Tears no longer fell from her eyes. They were all already gone.

She was confused. Something was happening, that she knew, but nothing more. She wondered why dad had screamed like that. She wondered where mom was taking her. Suddenly, she was falling. Then mom caught her again.

She landed. There was nothing else to do. She was too tired to fly any more. She had been too close to falling asleep just a second ago. She could not go on like this. She walked up to a large bush. It was not perfect, but it would hide the little one good enough so that she could make sure none was following them.
"Stay here." She said. "I will come back as fast as I can, but until then, you must stay here."

She nodded with a smile. She was a good girl. She would stay here until mom returned. Hopefully with something to eat.

She looked around. They were alone. She took a last look at the bush, then she picked up a stone, about the size of a newly hatched dragon, and flew away. Hopefully, anyone who had been following her would be fooled by it. And hopefully, if she was being followed, she would be able to fool whoever was watching her again.

She had not seen or heard anyone following her. It appeared to have worked. Now she just had to avoid being found while returning to the bush. She turned around. Something sharp hit her neck. She did not even have time to scream.

Nir carefully opened one eye. Then the other. All he saw was grass. He looked around. There was nothing he could use to quickly find out where he was. He tried to remember what had happened, but nothing came. He looked around again. All he saw was grass, trees and a very large rock.
"Well." He said to himself. "No idea staying here. Perhaps it would make more sense if I took another view on it all."
He spread his wings. Then he felt something wet touch his feet. He looked down. There was something in the grass, something that was not grass. A closer look revealed it to be blood. He looked at the rock again. But this time, he saw that it was not a rock. It was a dead dragon. And judging by the blood, it had died recently. This was definitely not a time for resting. He closed his wings again. Then, carefully, he started to move towards the closest tree. Whatever had killed the dragon maybe still was around or gone already, but he had no intention of finding out. At least not by being found by it.

She opened her eyes. Something was wrong. She had a real body, but it was black like the night. There was someone next to her. He was a red dragon. She could easily tell he was worried about something. But of what, she had no idea.
"Something's wrong." He said. "It's not like him to be late... I'm going to look for him."
She saw him fly away. There was something following him. She could not see clearly, but it looked like a silvery dragon...

She opened her eyes. She had no idea what this could mean. She had never had a dream like that before. And something about that silver dragon gave her a bad feeling. She looked around. Nir had not returned yet. Something was definitely wrong.

Waiting was boring. She hoped mom would return soon. Hopefully she would bring something to play with. Then she heard something. But it was not mom. Mom would have made the ground shake slightly. It sounded like it was something about her size. And it appeared to be coming towards her. She smiled. Perhaps it was something she could play with until mom came back.

Nir had been through a lot of things. He had been killed. He had been brought back to life. He had been used to take out anger on. He had been rewarded more then he actually had hoped for. But this was the first time he was used as a bed. The bush had looked like a safe hiding spot. It would have been one, if not for the fact someone else was already hiding there. It was also the first time he had been ambushed by a young dragon. Now he was lying on the ground, a soft and warm resting place for the small lizard. He knew he prefered this to being dead, but he prefered even more to be in none of those situations. He moved his left wing slightly. A claw moved to his neck. It was small, but still sharp enough to give him a deadly wound. He stopped moving. When the dragon had attacked him, he saw that it had a hard time deciding if it should rest on him or eat him. Hopefully Telana would find him. In the meantime, he had to avoid being turned into a snack. He did not like being used as a bed, but the dragon apparently wanted to hide just as much as him. The only good thing he could see in this was that he would not be exposed to every eye in the sky.

"You wouldn't be the first monster I've redeemed."
