Spyro looks more like the dragon he should. It looks like he's got some muscles on him, his stomach isn't as lizard like, his claws look more likely, the spikes along his back don't look so n00bish, his jaws look more fit to directing a stream of fire at something, his wings look a bit more fit for flying ( even though their still too small to lift him from the ground in reality ) , his eyes look real ( especially the brows ) , and his horns look more like horns instead of ice cream cones.

xD I actually laughed at the last part.

I agree.He does look more dragon-like.Still,some people just think he's plain ugly.

Spyro looks better than he did back then. But, I kind of miss the original look of Spyro. Call me classic.

Spyro looks better the new way, but still cute the old way. I don't like it when ppl say that the new Spyro is ugly. I think he's absolutely the cutest purple dragon I've ever seen! smilie

I tink Spyro looks good in the original series, especially in A Hero's Tail. But he looks dorky in A New Beginning, luckily he improved by like 1000% in The Eternal Night. That's the only model that beats A Hero's Tail!

I like the ANB Spyro. Like I said: alligator-puppy. He's sooo cute! smilie

I like both versions of Spyro that I've seen. Insomniac Spyro is cool and lizardy, LoS Spyro is freaking adorable.

When I first saw this I went in to a crisis, I just freaked out, he is just soooooooo ugly on this picture, but i got EXTREEMELY happy when i saw how he looks in-game

I can't see that, what do you mean? I didnt say that you think that he is ugly if thats what you think I just said that there are many people who didn't buy the game because of the cover-image (I almost didn't buy it because of that, luckily i was smart enough to watch some gameplay-movies on the internet first).

My opinion on Spyro's evolution?

There's actually three designs for him:

Insomniac serie.
A Hero's Tail.
Legend serie.

I prefer the most recent look ; Spyro looks really alive in-game, what not with all of the details and the way he actually looks and move like a more realistic dragon.

His two first looks were designed to look cool and it shows... so I don't really like them too much. However, I prefer the original look over the Hero's Tail redesign ; Spyro is meant to be a hatchling and his original look reflect more on his innocense and youthfulness than the A Hero's Tail look... although in terms of actual animation and design, the A Hero's Tail version is more complex.

As for the ANB cover...

I will agree with everyone: that is one fugly cover and whoever decided to make that cover art should be fired (just like the marketting dudes who thought that making an ad showing ANB as a Devil May Cry knock-off rather than what it is, a platformer with more advanced combat mechanics than average, should also be fired). I mean... the position is just awkward and just isn't representative at all. They tried to make Spyro look cool on that cover art but he mostly look like a suspended baby with a horns and a weird purple electricity cloak around him.

While TEN's cover art is nothing special, it sure is a lot better.
