Here it is, the next fan fiction in the Deadlier Than Love story(Special thanks to Solister for correcting my incorrect title ). This fan fiction takes place after the events of the first fan fiction and is connected to it.

I highly reccomend you read that before reading this or you will miss some parts of the story. Feel free to comment on it. Oh and make sure the read the secret ending! It will be important as the story goes on.

Sadly Cartoon101 will not be helping me in this story so be prepared for grammar errors but I will do my best to find and correct them in my proofreadings.

So here it is, I hope you enjoy it make sure to comment!

Chapter 1- Humble beginnings

It has been thirty years since the defeat of Andrala and since then the people of Avalar have thrived. The Moles of Warfang have developed new technologies making life easier for all and many small villages of dragons sprang up all along the world. In one of these villages there was a young dragon named Bane. For his entire life he had lived a easy, peacefull life with his family. Soon however, it would all change.

Bane was all by himself in his home thinking. He had such a simple life with no fear or worries and man was it boring! He never got to do anything fun like adventure into the nearby forests. Ever since two kid dragons were murdered there thirty years ago, children were not allowed to go anywhere outside the village without a adult.

"I wish I could just have a day to myself. I just want to have some fun." Bane moaned to himself.

As Bane thought a dragon walked into his room. He was about the size of Bane's father but a little smaller with shorter horns, his scales were a lighter shade of green and his eyes were a dark brown. His name was Sparrow. He walked towards the sprawled out Bane and stood next to him.

"Get up, its time for you to work." Sparrow said in a commanding tone.

"He will go when he wants Sparrow!" A voice called out from the other side of the house. Sparrow raised his head to see Bane's father enter the room. He was a large dragon with a faint blue ring to his Brown eyes and pale red scales.

" Your son is a lazy waste of space and you do nothing to help the problem Sohtia!" Sparrow said to Bane's father, Sohtia.

" And what do you do Sparrow, yell at kids all day to get them to do the work you should be doing? Get out of my home." Sohtia replied staring down Sparrow.

"Fine, but if Bane isn't at the new building site in one hour there will be consequences! Sparrow grunted at Bane's father and walked out of the room.

"Thanks dad." Bane said looking up to see his father. Sparrow and Sohtia had never gotten along and often came head to head ready to fight, but it never happened. Sohtia turned his head to see Bane lying on the floor.

" Get up and get out to the new worksite." Sohtia said told Bane in his gentle, fatherly voice.

"Come on dad, its just a stupid temple and we already have one! Besides, there are plently other dragons to help build it." Bane protested.

Sohtia said nothing but instead shot Bane a serious look instead.

"Fine, I will go." Bane mummbled in defeat.

"Good boy! Now get going and tommorrow after your nightwatch I will give you a suprise I think you will like" Sohtia said with a smile.


Bane slowly walked out of his house and saw the bright new day. The sun was shining and the smell of food roasting over a open fire filled the air. Bane looked around to see some two adult dragons eating while their children played. The sight made him remember how sad his life was at times. His mother had died when he was still a hatchling and he never had any siblings, his father was all he had. Bane shook off the emotions that filled his mind and marched towards the construction site. After walking for five minutes he could see it in the distance atop a large hill far away from the village but still within view. As he started to flap his wings a sudden voice stopped him.

" Bane! Wait up.." a strained voice called out from behind him.

Bane turned to see his best friend, Grom, panting heavily as he tried to catch up to him. Grom was a large teenage dragon with brown scales,bent horns and a terrible physique. He was often picked on by other dragons and slept through much of the day whenever possible, even his older sister picked on him, Bane was his only friend.

" Slow down Grom, your going to give yourself a heart attack!" Bane said jokingly.

"Haha very funny Bane. Are you heading towards the construction site too?" Grom replied still panting

"Yeah.. but there is good news, after tonight my father said he had me a suprise." Bane said as he looked towards the construction site.

" Thats great!" Grom said with a smile.

The two then flapped there wings and flew to the top of the hill to join the others to build the new temple.

They will. This is in the same "story" as the first and will continue the story, think of Deadlier Than Love being a trilogy of fan fictions, each continuing to tell a single story, like video games.

Also I want to clarify something about the story and the secret ending to the first Deadlier Than Love. I dont want to give any of the story away but I will say that Bane's parents are a important part of the story.

Chapter 2- A hard days work

As Bane and Grom approached the construction site they could see it would be a while before the temple was completed. In the three weeks it was being built, so far only half of the foundation was built. Bane sighed and looked around to try and find Sparrow amidst the some thirty dragons working all around him.

"Where is that bossy jerk when you need him?" Bane mumbled to himself.

" Somewhere thats for sure." Grom joked with a smile on his fat face.

" You are not nearly as funny as you think Grom." Bane replied still scanning the area for any sign of Sparrow.
Before Grom could reply a strong voice called out amidst the fluster of activity, "Bane! Grom! Get over here!"

" That must be Sparrow. We might as well go over there and see what he wants us to do now." Bane said with a grimace.

The two dragons moved amongst the crowd and finally found Sparrow on the east side of the construction site overseeing the collection of wood for the temple. He turned to see Bane and Grom standing side by side awaiting orders.

"About time! Now take these piles of wood to the west side of the site because they are running low. By the time you have it all done it should be time for your nightwatch." Sparrow said pointing at a large pile of wood cut into planks just large enough for two teenage dragons to carry.

"Are you kidding me!? That will take all day! Cant you get anyone else to do it?" Grom complained.

"No, now get to work!" Sparrow ordered before walking off to bark orders at other dragons. Bane and Grom looked at eachother and sighed.

"Guess we had better get started." Bane shrugged. Grom nodded and the two started the long task of carrying each large plank of wood all across the massive construction site.

As the two struggled to carry the planks of wood Bane could see three dragonesses watching him. He winked at them and the dragons giggled amongst themselves, Grom just shook his head and kept moving.

After several hours of transporting the wood planks Grom could not take it any longer and suddenly collapsed dropping the heavy wood.

"Grom!" Bane yelled out in shock before running to help him. All movement around them stopped as dragons looked on to what had happened. Bane frantically tried to revive Grom but nothing seemed to work.

"Help! We need help!" Bane yelled out so loudly everyone could hear.

A smaller adult male dragon ran out from the crowd and took a good look at Grom.

"I knew this would happen, he is just not cut out for this kind of work." he said suprisingly calm.

Behind him came Sparrow with a shocked look on his face but it quickly turned to anger as he saw Grom lying on the ground.

" The fat waste of space could not take the stress huh?" He said trying to act smart.

"Shut up Sparrow! Either get him some help or leave!" Bane snarled at him.

" Watch your tone Bane!" Sparrow replied with a growl.

" You watch yours! You dont care about him, all you ever do is pick on Grom, all of you!" Bane yelled at sparrow and the crowd of dragons.

"Grom is my friend and I do care." Bane ended with a fierce anger surging through his body.

Bane had always had anger issues, he was hard to anger but when he was, Bane was a threat to everyone around him. He hated seeing people pick on Grom but it happened so often he had to control his anger.

Silence was all there was throughout the construction site. Bane stared defiantly at all the dragons around him before he scooped Grom's heavy body onto his back and slowly headed down the hill towards the village.

Chapter 3 - Redundancy never gets old

The few minutes it took to get from the construction site to the village seemed like hours as Bane struggled to carry Grom to his parents.
This was not the first Grom had passed out from stress but everytime it happened Bane was scared for his friend's well being. However Bane found himself getting more annoyed at Grom each time.

"Why do you always have to do this?" Bane mumbled to himself as he neared the village.

Several dragons watched as Bane walked through, Grom still on his back. Bane could hear several mumbles amongst the dragons but he paid them no heed. Bane was at Grom's home when he could see his father run down the small trail connecting the dragon's huts.

"What happened?" Grom's father, Caspik, asked with a sigh.

" He gave out because of too much stress working on building the new temple." Bane said quickly as he dropped Grom's heavy body off of his back near the entrance to his home.

"Thanks for bringing him back here, I guess I will let him rest here on the doorstep then?" Caspik said with a smile. Bane chuckled lightly at the joke and started to head back towards the construction site when a voice stopped him.

"Hey Bane, go ahead and get to your watchpost for the nightwatch, I will tell Sparrow you were doing me a favor." Caspik said winking at him.

Bane nodded and headed to his assigned watchpost.

Bane had always liked Caspik. He was a nice old dragon and would often suprise Bane and Grom with fun things to do like sheep hunting ever since they were kids. Sometimes Bane even wished Caspik was his dad. Bane's father was nice but he never did anything special and was incredibly overprotective where as Caspik was the exact opposite.

After a quick jog Bane reached his watchpost. It was a sturdy twenty foot wooden structure meant to survey the nearby land for any sign of danger. It was placed next to a larger watchpost that was thirty feet tall and had a horn attached to it to quickly alert the villagers of any danger. They were manned by adult dragons who would diligently survery the land all night. Though the last time anything exciting happened was thirty years ago when one dragon thought he heard screams and flashing purple lights coming from the mountain.

Now it was getting dark and within a few minutes Bane could see his watchmaster, Gringor, slowly walking towards his watchpost. Where as all the other watchmasters were large and dilligent Gringor was skinny and lazy, usualy leaving all the watching to Bane as he would sleep, neglecting his job.

"What are you doing here so early?" Gringor asked Bane while rubbing his eyes trying to stay awake.

"Does it matter Gringor?" Bane asked in a annoyed tone.

" Hey! Remember who you are talking to young man." The tired dragon replied through a loud yawn.

" A lazy old dragon who needs me to do his job is who you are." Bane said smartly.

Gringor only waved his hand dismissingly at Bane and climbed into his watchtower and quickly fell asleep.

"Lazy old coot" Bane mumbled to himself as he stared out into the distance for what seemed like the millionth time.

Chapter 4 - Something about her..

Silence..sweet silence is all there was as the night went on. The moon hung peacefully in the sky and a gentle breeze glided through the land. Bane watched as the grass swayed softly and felt the gentle wind on his cheek, only his own thoughts to keep him company. This was when Bane was at his happiest, all his problems dissapeared into shadows and all his worries vanished as he gazed into the distance. This was when Bane could think without disturbance. As Bane thought about what had happened at the construction site, a sudden voice broke the perfect silence.

" Hello Bane, I saw what happened at the construction site." A sly female voice spoke.

Bane was startled by the sudden noise but he did not show it. He slowly turned around to see a teenaged dragonesses approaching him. She had a slinder form with light blue scales, crystal white eyes and a soothing voice.

"Can I help you?" Bane asked slightly irritated at her disruption.

"No, I just wanted to say what you did for Grom today was realy brave." The dragoness said in a calm tone as she contiued to move closer to Bane's watchpost.

" Grom is my friend and it is wrong how everyone treats him. Who are you anyway?" Bane asked, returning his gaze to the swaying grass in the distance.

" My name is Starfury, I was one of the lucky girls you winked at earlier today." The Dragoness said with a faint giggle. Bane smiled to himself before turning to face Starfury again.

" How does that make you lucky?" Bane asked trying to maintain his calm composure.

" Not every girl gets to be winked at my the most handsome dragon around."Starfury said in a flirtatious manner.

Bane started to swet and became nervous after hearing her words. He was could not think of anything to say so he decided to remain silent and play it cool, Bane pretended to gaze into the distance as if he was looking at something important.

"What are you looking at?" Starfurry asked as she stood below Bane's watchpost.

" umm..Nothing, its what I am hearing that is important." Bane studdered. Does she realy think I am handsome?

"Oh, like what?" Starfurry asked with a smile, she knew Bane was nervous.

" Nothing, its nothing. Why are you here anyway?" Bane asked, he could feel his body tingle.

Starfury said nothing but she started to climb the tiny ladder up to Banes post. Bane took a deep breath and wiped his forehead as he could hear her coming up the ladder. Within seconds she was sitting besides Bane looking into the distance.

"This is a nice view of the land" Starfury said as she looked around.

" It sure is pretty...almost as pretty as you" Bane said trying to sound suave. Starfury looked at Bane and smiled gently.

"Your cute when your nervous." She said seeing right through Bane's act.

" I am not nervous" Bane replied trying to sound serious but failing as his deep voice broke and a tingle went through his body as he looked at Starfury.

" Yes you are. How about we talk again tommorrow, right after dinner time at the edge of the village near the forest?" Starfury asked in her soothing voice that made Bane melt.

" Sure!" He said excitedly. Starfury winked at him and climbed back down the ladder and headed home, Bane watched her every step of the way.

" Did that realy just happen?" Bane thought to himself with a goofy smile of his face. He spent the rest of the night thinking about Starfury.

It was not the first time a dragoness had approached Bane, he was afterall a attractive looking dragon. However Bane never did take "love" as the dragonesses called it seriously. Bane never had any feelings for the dragonesses and he was not afraid to admit it. His prideful arrogance and rudeness towards others often got Bane into trouble but he didn't care. "If they have a problem with me, let them try and do something about it." was Bane's modo.

Despite his lack of sensitivity something about Starfury changed Bane. She was beautiful yes, but there was just something about her that Bane could not put his finger on....

Chapter 5 - Father son bonding....

"Bane...wake up." A strong but soft voice whispered.

Bane slowly opened his eyes and looked around. He vision was blurred but he saw he was in his house and it was daytime, he also saw his father standing over him.

"Dad?" Bane asked slowly rubbing his eyes.

"Your lucky I was out walking last night or you would be in big trouble with Sparrow right now." Sohtia whispered as he helped Bane get to his feet.

"Oh? Why is that?" Bane asked as he collected his thoughts.

"You fell asleep on your nightwatch, if Sparrow had found you before I did you would be working double hours at the construction site right now." Sohtia said with a disappointed look on his face.

"Nightwatch!" the word rang through his mind, "Starfury..."

"Dad what time is it?" Bane asked quickly.

"A little bit after dinner time, I just got back from the dinning hall. Why?" Sohtia responded raising his right eyebrow suspiciously.

"Uhh...Grom and I were going to go sheep hunting with Caspik after dinner time!" Bane fumbled to say making up the lie as he went along.

" Grom is still resting at home after what happened at the temple." Sohtia said slowly.

"Oh is he? Well, can I go visit him?" Bane said as he looked outside a nearby window, "I sure hope Starfury has not left yet.."

Sohtia ignored what Bane said but instead pulled out a tiny box from behind his back and handed it to Bane. Bane looked up and with a confused look and asked "What is this?

"Son, I was not going to give you this present when I found you asleep at your watchpost but when I heard of what you did for Grom it is only fair that you are rewarded for your bravery." Sohita said with a smile on his face.

Bane forgot all about Starfury as he dug his claws into the box trying to get to what was inside.

" I wonder what it could be? Maybe a new flame amulet so I can practice my powers on it, or maybe some...." Bane's frantic thinking stopped as he saw what was inside.

Slowly Bane lifted out a small picture inside a soft wooden frame. The picture depicted Bane and his father standing side by side, a bored frown on Banes face, a giant smile on his father's.

" Remember when that mole merchant came through here and we got our picture taken with the thing he called a "camera" last week? Well there is the result! This way we can be together wherever we are!" Sohtia said excitedly with a smile on his old face.

Bane looked down at the picture and frowned.."This is it?" Bane mumbled.

" Whats wrong? You..you dont like it do you?" Sohtia said slowly, lowering his head to the ground.

" No its just.." Bane said disappointedly before being cut off by his father.

" Its okay son.. I understnad, Your too old for to for little things like that. It was a stupid gift anyway." Sohtia said turning away from Bane.

"Dad.." Bane said with a sigh.

" Dont worry about me, I will go somewhere where I cant bother you." Sohtia grunted before flying away.

Bane stood there silently looking at the picture of of him and his father. He sighed and left it on the floor as he headed quickly towards the forest to meet Starfury.

that chapter was sad.It was still good though.

That chapter to be honest... Almost made me cry D: keep up the writing, you have a really great story!

Chapter 6 - Meant to be?

The short walk towards the edge of the village seemed like a eternity to Bane, his thoughts were clouded with many different feelings and emotions and trying to think clearly was nearly impossible. Bane felt so strange when he thought about Starfury it angered him. He had only seen her twice, had one conversation and here he was feeling like he..loved her.

"Shake it off, it is just a fling. I will put her down gently and then go check on Grom" Bane planned out in his head.

He tried to figure out the words to say it but he could not bring himself to do so. Everytime the name Starfury entered his mind Bane lost all track of thought.

Bane soon found himself at the edge of the village near the forests looking around for Starfury. The sun was beggening to go down and the air got a little colder.

"Starfury? Are you there!?" Bane shouted loud enough so they anything nearby could hear him.

There was no responce, so Bane called out Starfury's name several more times before he started to head back home in dissapointment. Just as he turned around Bane could hear footsteps. He whirled around excitedly expecting to see Starfury but instead he saw a rabit gnawing on the nearby grass.

"Arrgh! I was too late!" Bane mumbled to himself.

Bane then slowly began to walk home, but before he could take five steps Bane heard his name being called out.

"Bane, Sorry I am late." A female voice called out.

Bane quickly turned around again to see Starfury running towards him. Bane lost all thought of the plan he had layed out earlier.

"What do I say!?" Bane thought frantically. Within seconds Starfury was right in front of Bane leaping up to give him a hug. Bane's body felt like jello as he felt Starfury's body against his.

" Sorry it took me so long to get here, I was working at the construction site and Sparrow would not let me leave." Starfury said apologetically still giving Bane a hug. Bane kicked back his head and stared into Starfury's eyes, they were as white as snow and as perfect as the moon.

" Why are you so friendly to me, we barely even know eachother?" Bane asked trying to look serious. Starfury let go of Bane and looked at him.

" Bane there is just something about you, I cant place my finger on it but I feel comfortable near you and everytime I look at you my heart skips a beat. You see I have watched you for a long time hoping one day you would notice me but I..I cant hide it anymore Bane..I love you." Starfury said lowering her head as if she was making a grand confession.

Bane was shocked by Starfury's words and her outbreak of emotion. Bane had never noticed her before but to think she..loved him. Bane used his claw to gently lift Starfury's head up, he could see tears in her eyes.

" Starfury, I dont know what it is, I dont know how it happened, I dont know what I am feeling, but one thing I do know is, I love you too." Bane said smoothly, a single tear straining to be released from his eye and a smile on his face.

After he said those words the entire world seemed to freeze and each second seemed like hours. Bane felt as if his heart would burst from all the emotions he felt, love, joy, confusion..

The two dragons sat silent next to eachother for a few minutes trying to understand what was happening, each looking into the distance at the rising moon.

Bane felt as if nothing could ruin this perfect moment, for the first time in his life he truly felt like he loved someone...like he was loved. Though love seemed sweet to Bane, he had no idea where it would take him.

Chapter 7 - Betrayal

The moon was now shining in the sky and a cold but gentle breeze blew through the land. Bane was sitting still next to Starfury trying to sort out his thoughts. Bane felt so overwhelmed by his feelings he was lost and confused. How had he fallen in love with Starfury so quickly? A sudden voice broke the peaceful silence between Bane and Starfury, a male's voice..

" Good work Starfury, I see that idiot fell for it." A familiar voice said with a grin.

Bane looked to his right to see three dragons approaching him, among them was the large, dark green dragon responsible for nearly all of Grom's bullying who was also Sparrow's son, Rex. At his side were his two lackies, Greyson and Jasper.

"What are you doing here!?" Bane growled viciously as he lept to his feet.

" Your such a idiot Bane, do you realy think Starfury loves you?" Rex said as he walked closer towards Bane.

" What do you mean?" Bane asked slowly, entering a crouched positon like he was ready to attack Rex.

"He means this is all a lie, a trick." A feminine voice said slowly, as if whispering into Bane's heart.

"Starfury, what do you mean?" Bane questioned turning his head to face her.

" I dont love you Bane, this has all been a lie." Starfury said with a sick grin.

" But..why?" Bane said, he could not believe what he was hearing, his heart felt shattered.

" Rex and I wanted to hurt you, make you feel so misrable you wish you were dead. Why? Well thats simple, because we can." Starfury said methodically as she walked past Bane towards Rex.

" I..I loved you." Bane said so quietly it was almost a whisper.

"Well she doesn't love you!" Rex yelled at Bane and then began to laugh, Jasper and Greyson joined in while Starfury just sat beside Rex with a smile on her face.

Bane felt crushed.. The one time he realy felt like he loved someone and it turns out it was all a lie, they did not love him back. At first Bane felt such sadness he felt like bursting into tears but after Rex started to laugh a new emotion began to fill his body..Hate.

" Get em." Rex said with a loud snort, Greyson and Jasper obeyed and began to follow Rex as they approached Bane, ready to attack.

Rex suddenly and quickly made a charge towards Bane ramming his head into Bane's expecting to send Bane flying back, instead it felt like he hit a mountain. He look up to Bane staring right into his eyes, Bane's eyes were blood red. Within seconds Rex felt his body being slammed to the ground and sharp claws pierce his sides. Bane was so filled with anger he clawed at Rex as if he was going to kill him.

"Get off of him!" Greyson yelled in a terrified voice as he saw Bane ripping into Rex.

Bane looked up to see Greyson running towards him. Bane lept off of Rex and charged right into Greyson sending him flying back several feat. Bane then look to his right and saw Jasper quickly approaching him, horns lowered. Bane smiled evily and shot out searing flames from his mouth onto Jasper's face. Jasper screamed in pain as he felt his scales melt into his skin and his eyes burn.

Bane was blood drunk, he could not control himself at this point. He then turned to see Greyson running away towards the village and Rex slowly crawling away, bleeding horribly.

"Where ya going!? You dont honestly think you can escape me!" Bane roared in a daemonic voice not his own.

Within seconds Bane was on top of Rex ripping and tearing into him. Bane could hear Starfury's crys of terror but Bane could not stop attacking Rex, in fact, he didn't want to. Every second of pain he caused Rex felt so satisfying. Bane stopped clawing at Rex only to began to brutally smash his head into the ground until his arms got tired.

Within seconds Rex was on his deathbed, begging for mercy, blood leaked out of his mouth and great claw marks covered his body.

" Please let me go! I will never bother you or Grom again!" He pleaded

"No, after all you have done and now this, your not leaving here alive." Bane snarled, a great hatred in his heart.

" Your not... just going to kill, me are you?" Rex ask pleadingly between gasps for breath

" Thats exactly what I am going to do!" Bane roared before rolling back his neck and thrusting his head towards Rex.

A sweet sensation filled Bane as he bit down on Rex's neck and felt his blood flow.

Brutal murder in a story makes some people want to read more... For me though, I do want to read more! And by the way Tibs I was not exaggerating about you making a book, you have some serious talent, and if you ever do make a book I would buy it in a hot second!

That was almost as brutal as when Spyro murdered that little girl in the first book.It was so horrifying but I couldn't stop reading it.

I need to catch up from chapter 3 but good work.

Chapter 8 - Guilt


Silence, sweet silence was all there was to Bane, even the loudest screams seemed so distant..so far away, they were nothing but a faint echo. There he stood, Rex's lifeless body clamped between his teeth, blood pouring out. For what was only a few seconds seemed like ages as Bane savored the moment.

Slowly Bane's anger began to fade, he breathed slower and looked around him. He saw Jasper's moitionless body, his face half melted and Starfury was running away, screaming in horror. It was not untill he saw Rex's lifeless body clamped between his teeth did Bane realize what he had done. In his anger he had murdered two other dragons. Bane dropped Rex's body from his mouth and examined his own claws, they were covered with blood. Bane even had trouble seeing because his vision was hazed with red...with blood.

" I..I killed them..I am a monster!" Bane whispered in absolute horror. "I need to get out of here!" Bane yelled before running blindly towards the nearby forest, as if he was trying to run away from his actions.


Grom slowly awoke to sound of arguing. He heard faint voices in the distance, many of which sounded familiar.

" How is that possible!?" A strong male voice asked in disbelief. "Sparrow?"

" I am telling you the truth! He attacked us without warning and killed Jasper and Rex. I dont know what happened to Starfury." a weaker voice said quickly as if he had seen a nightmere. Grom knew it was Greyson talking now.

Slowly Grom got to his feet and walked out of his home. In the center of the village nearly all of the dragons of the village were gathered around a campfire in one massive crowd, neither Bane or his father were amongst them.

" What is going on?" Grom asked inquisitively, interupting the large meeting.

Many dragons turned to see Grom, but only one said anything to him.


"Son, this is not easy to say but something has terrible has happened. Your friend Bane has murdered Rex and Jasper." Caspik said slowly so that Grom could soak in each and every word.

" No, thats not possible! Bane would never do that!" Grom replied in shock, surely these dragons had lost their minds!

" Then how do you explain this!?" Greyson yelled out showing a large, still bleeding wound on his head. "Bane did that to me!"

" You could have gotten that anywhere! I know Bane better then all of you and I am telling you he would never hurt anyone!" Grom yelled back, as if pleading with the crowd.

Before another word could be said another dragon entered the scene, it was Starfury. She was running frantically with tears pouring from her eyes. She collapsed near the campfire with a loud thud.

" Bane...attacked us..killed Rez... and Jasper.." She whispered quietly before fainting.

A great hush come over all the dragons, even Grom had nothing more to say.


Bane had been running for what seemed like hours before he stopped to rest. He panted heavily trying to recover when he felt something large grab onto his shoulder. Bane froze up with fear that only faded when he discovered who it was.

" What are you doing here?" A male voice said softly.

" Dad..?" Bane whispered in utter disbelief. He slowly turned his head to see his father standing over him.

" What are you doing here son? Dragons your age aren't aloud in the forest alone." Sohtia said sternly.

Bane lept back away from his father.

" Get away from me!" Bane yelled at his father.

Sohtia was shocked by what Bane said.

" Why? What is wrong?" he said in his fatherly voice as if talking to a child.

" I told you to get away from me!" Bane roared before shooting at flames towards his father.

The flames hit the right side of Sohtia's faces burning him badly. He did not roar in pain but instead he remained silent as his head pointed towards the ground, his hand covering the burning wound. Bane could not believe what he had just done. He bolted further into the forest to get away from his father who had done nothing to him.

Sohita stared at the ground as he felt the pain surge through his body. A single tear fell from his eyes and onto the ground. He saw Bane run into the distance, though he did not follow. Instead Sohtia turned towards home muttering the words "So it begans."

Everyone can feel however they want about this fan fiction. Cynder fan just does not like this type of fan fiction.

Chapter - 9 This cant be happening!

The bitter silence that lasted for a few minutes ended when Sparrow suddenly spoke.

" We need to find Bane and bring him to justice." He said with a great anger in his voice.

" As much as I do not like it you are right, this act of...murder cannot go unpunished" another male dragon said.

"Your all insane! This must be some mistake, Bane would never kill anybody!" Grom protested.

" Shut your fat mouth! Bane is a murderer and he must pay!" Sparrow snarled at Grom.

Suddenly another dragon slowly came out of the shadows holding the right side of his face.

"Sohtia! Your son.." Sparrow growled before being cut of sharply.

" I know Sparrow, I know." Sohtia with a deep feeling of grief.

" How could do you know!?" Sparrow yelled viciously.

"I knew this might happen someday..." Sohtia said slowly, his head pointed towards the ground.

Before another word could be said a sudden scream echoed through the village sending a chill down Sohtia's spine. He turned to see several monsterous creatures walking out of darkness, each more hideous then the last.

" I have failed..."


Bane was losing his mind. In a matter of minutes he had fallen in love, had his heart broken, murdered two dragons and attacked his father. He could no longer take the guilt.

" I...I cant do this, I need to head back to the village and explain myself..I need to see my father." Bane whispered to himself.

Bane turned around and headed home. The long walk took about a hour but it took only half that for Bane to realize something was not right. He could see a large cloud of smoke forming in the distance, about where the village was. He started to run, within minutes he felt a warm breeze. Bane would soon realize what had come to pass in his absence.

He saw to his horror the source of the great smoke cloud, his village was burning. Bane ran towards the entrance busting through the frail wooden doors that were on fire. All around him he saw collapsed buildings and homes on fire. The air was filled with smoke hazing his vision and making breathing difficult but he continued to go on. Through the smok he could see a small fire in the distance. He got down on his belly and crawled throughout the village trying to breath in as little smoke as possible. As Bane neared the small fire he saw something that would scar him for life, piles of bodies, dragon bodies.

They were all beaten severly and many were still bleeding. He saw many familair faces amongst them, though he did not see his father, Sparrow, Grom, any of Grom's family or Starfury. Bane was filled with horror at the site of such carnage and nearly vomited. Bane had inhaled so much smoke he felt like he might pass out untill he heard a faint voice call out from behind him.

" Son.."

Bane looked to see his father, buried beneath the rubble of a large building near the edge of the village center. He rushed to his injured father and pushed aside as much rubble as he could and pulled his father out. Bane gazed at his father's body as he layed almost motionlessly in Bane's arms. He was badly wounded, he had multiple claw marks all over his body, entire parts of his skin seemed smashed in and he had been underneath the rubble of a building for who knows how long.

Sohtia was fatally injured but he still had just enough life in him to hang on untill his son returned. Each word Sohtia uttered sounded like a whisper.

"Bane, I haven't much time left so listen carefully.."

good chapter.I like the mystery that you've thrown into it as well.

I just want to say something real quick. You know me for trying to get the reader emotionally engaged in the story. Well the next three chapters are going to be focused on that. I am trying my hardest to incorporate all it will take to see if I can get you all to realy "feel" the story.

Well I think these next coming chapters will change that.
