Spyro woke to the crisp morning air. Small wisps from his breath escaped, clouds of warmth escaping him. He walked out of the cave he and cynder were staying in. He stared out into the morning's beautiful sky. Fireflies still fluttered about. Cynder woke soon and followed him. "To think the world was almost destroyed by malefor... Still beauty remains." She said calmly. "I know... But when will it end, when we just aren't needed any more?" "That will never happen spyro." Cynder said nuzzling him. Out of no where a freak storm blew in, only over one area. Lightning struck in two locations. Darkness covered two areas very near by. Silence took the forest below. Fear was in the rain. As if the heart of the world had paused it's beating. "Cynder, go back inside... I'm going to see what that was." He began to go farther out side the cave, until cynder leaped in front of him, "Not without me your not." Cynder glared at him for thinking of leaving her behind. "Alright come on, sparx can stay here!" They dashed out into the early morning to see what had happened.

In the distance Midnight looked over his sister shadow. Shadow looked up at him, "Oh, sister, when shall you learn that your puny powers are nothing compared to mine?" Midnight said laughing as he took his talon off of his pined down sister. "You wont be all that powerful for long, They said i was the one... and you were the second, the one that fails." Shadow replied with a quick response, he was older by a year, and not as powerful as he should have been any how. He glared at her, "How dare you!" He picked her up in his talons and threw shadow to the the side. She flew into the tree trunks. "Bah, the oracle's predictions are mere child's tales!" He said briskly in disgust. "Admit it brother, you are jealous." Shadow taunted, only to have Midnight laugh, "Me? Jealous of my little, weak sister. Bah! You see the oracle to much!" "Midnight, you know her predictions are true! Everyone of them!" Midnight laughed again. "You are to much of a dreamer, sister."
shadow stood up, and jumped up onto a high rock. "I have a name you know? It's shadow." "That name is unfitting for you, sister. Try something like Nerera, it means lady of dream and the forest." Shadow's frown lessened. "Thank you brother... I must return to mother now." She bounded off, leaping into the air, taking flight to the north.

Spyro lead the two. Flying south to the disturbance. Cynder saw movement below. "Down there!" She pointed. They dive bombed into to find nothing. "Are you sure you saw something here cynder?" Spyro asked curiously. "I swore i did. Right here." Spyro looked around. "It was probably nothing... maybe just a d..." Out of no where a black and green dragon leaped out on top of spyro. "How dare you enter this part of the forest! By the nae of shadow, of the... wait... your not for the rival tribes..." The dragon got off of spyro. "Just get out of here, if mother finds you, your dead." She bounded off, continuing her journy

Shadow speed through the forest thought running wildly through her mind, 'who were the outsiders, and why must they come here? Why must they tamper with things meant to be left to lie? She slowed hr paced as she approached a temple of pure marble. She enter slowly, head down. Her mother stood at the end of the hall. "Mother I... I am sorry I'm late... There were..." "How dare you?! I can't believe the oracle choose.... YOU?! I idiot who is a false daughter!" "I am deeply sorry mother, there were outsiders in my way, i taught them a lesson." A small smile appeared upon her mother's face. "Well it's good to know your not a complete idiot." Shadow bowed, "Thank you mother, i return to your teachings and grasp of wisdom." "Go to you room, and you may only come out when i summon you." Shadow nearly burst out in shock, but obeyed, going to her room. It was more than most could ever want. But only because the oracle had given her a prophesy. She lie on her mat wondering again of the outsiders that she had seen earlier.
