Chapter 1: The Storm
One cloudy night, a young male dragon called Skyrus was flying with his mother, Skyora, and sister, Skywind, along with the rest of his colony. Skyora was white with pale blue markings and darker blue hair and silver horns. Skywind was a smaller version of Skyora, but she had golden hair instead and some golden spots.
Skyrus was staying close under Skyora's wings, next to Skywind.
"Are we going to get there soon?" Skywind asked eagerly.
"I don't know," whispered Skyora, glancing quickly at Skyrus. Skyrus looked confused up at his mother. Suddenly, there was a crash of thunder, and the clouds split open to reveil wind, rain and hail, along with savage streaks of lightning.
"Mother!" cried Skyrus in fear, huddling close to Skyora. "I-I'm scared!"
"It will be alright Skyrus." said Skyora calmly, using her second pair of wings to protect the two children. Lightning lit up the night sky. Hail buffeted the colony of dragons, and rain was blinding them. Suddenly, a huge chunk of hail struck Skyora's wing. She screeched in pain, and her wings opened up. Skywind managed to cling on to Skyora's wing, but Skyrus, who got startled, fell before Skywind could catch him. He fell from the sky.
"Mother!!" he screamed, as he fell through the the sky and plunged into the sea.
"Skyrus, Skyrus! Where are you!?" Skyora yelled, scanning the sky.
"I can't see him..." sobbed Skywind. "This is all my fault."
"Hush, Skywind." said Skyora soothingly. "None of this was your fault, it was mine. I shouldn't have opened my wings..." Skyora looked at the sea, which was shaking fiercely. A large male adult called Windair flew over to Skyora and Skywind.
"Come on." he said in a deep voice. "The storm appears to be getting worse."
"My son got seperated from us!" Skyora moaned angrily.
"Oh..." said Windair. "But we really have to go. In the morning once the storm has passed, we will search for your son." Skyora nodded and flew with Windair protecting her. Skywind clung tightly to Skyora's wings. But little did they know, the search never happened. Little that Skyora knew, she would never see her son ever again.
