Wouldn't TLoS do good as a book?
I've actually thought of that for about 3 years now. The book could look like the Chronicler's, and all 3 could be in it.

Tell me what you think. I'll be writing them!

Wish why didn't I think of that? It would be great as a book, dividing each game into a seperate book. They could have many new scenes added, and maybe a new character. And a book about Malefor's past, and Cynder's past! Those would come out awesomesmilie I could totally see the tlos series a book series.

I thought all 3 in one, because ANB is short. smilie Most books go past 100 pages anyway.

I always though of that. Just make sure to get copy-righted permisson first. And if the publishers see the story here, you can kiss that book goodbye. I would hate to damage Spyro's reputation

I find that to be an ironic statement coming from and LOS fan, no offence meant, just my opinion.

Nawww, books and video games are 2 completely different medias. Turning one media into another usually fails, just look at any movie based on a video game

A book, though, is different than a movie. I think we can all agree that books are definitely better (See: Eragon). Books are much more deep and extensive, which I think could make a better game.

But hey, think of all the similarities of the game to Lord of the Rings. If you turn it into a book, you might actually get charged with plagerism. That, and you'd never get the copyright from Activision (Let's be realistic here). Sure, I'd enjoy it more if it was a book, perhaps. But it's already a game, and I don't think taking something like this and turning it into a book would do much.
Plus, isn't Spyro a kid's game? A book would require 500+ pages if you were to make something of quality for the plot (and fix the various plotholes), not many 10-12 year olds would be thrilled about reading something that long.

That's a little presumptuous. I'm sure there are many kids of that age who love reading and wont be fazed by such a length. I certainly wasn't, though I was a slow reader, and still am to some degree. Also, Spyro already has a large fanbase full of kids that age. Even those who usually dislike reading would probably enjoy reading if it were Spyro.

As for copyrights, you are correct, but look at all the fanfictions. I think as long as you don't try to get it published, you'll be fine.

^ The HP games were based off the movies, not the books, I believe.
The only video game I can think of that's based directly off a book is Pokemon.

If I remember correctly, at last in first game, player might encounter one scene which wasn't in the movei, but was in book: SPOILER!
That one with wials and flames at the end...

I believe Pokemon came out as a videogame - The manga series came only after the games release in Japan. Unless I've misunderstood you XP

I think a book would be a very cool idea.
And each game could be a different book. It takes longer to get a point across in a book, I think. If you use many details and many scenes, ANB could easily be one book. And you could end it with a cliffhanger to start the next one off at.

I could've sworn Bulbapedia said it was based off a book (not manga), but I must've misread something. Oh well xD

TLoS was more of a story than the originals, the originals had a story but each game didn't follow the story after the last game... The only real time the main story was ever involved in the originals was during boss fights and when you started a new homeworld, each level seamed to have its own story... I liked it that way...

The HP games were generally more based off the books than the films, that what I always thought anyway...
