I know this seems odd to post this here because some people seem to think dark52 and I are in competition (because we both have Spyro news sites) but I don't view it as that. dark has a lot of things here that I don't have over at SpyroWorld... and there's one thing I'd like to get jump started - my wiki.

Spyro now has his own wiki and I need your to help fill the articles. There are character pages, game pages, item pages and more. If you love Spyro or at least have some time on your hands all it takes is a contribution or two. I need all the help I can get so yours is much appreciated.

Below is the address of my Spyro the Dragon wiki. It's the first one there was and hopefully can become the best.

Any feedback on the site is appreciated as well, let’s get a discussion going about it.

Well I don't really have time for the wiki. I do post in the news section at least weekly, but beyond that I'm still in school so my time is very limited. I'm trying to get more traffic at the wiki by making posts like this. I figured Spyro fans would jump at the chance to submit all sorts of info. for their favorite game but I guess not. I once dreamed it'd be like the Super Mario Wiki which is massive. I know Spyro hasn't got as many fans, but even so I thought I'd have a few more posts than what I do now. Yes, SpyroWorld is mine and a friend's. The wiki's existence depends upon if people post there or not.

If I can work up the time amidst everything else, I'd like to start the articles for Elora and Cynder, at least. Or add to them, if they're already there and need it. And maybe do one for Dr. Shemp. He was such a freak.

As I have said just about everywhere else you bombarded advertising for your Wiki, the only reason you've started to advertise your Wiki is because you have competition now, and far superior competition at that. I really appreciate you choking off my potential traffic

http://spyro.wikia.com is a better Spyro Wiki, hosted on Wikia. He may have his own domain and message boards, but the Spyro Wiki on Wikia has the support of the largest Wiki community on the Internet. As you can see, we are clearly superior, and while we only started, they have been online for several months and have little to no information.

Anyone can tell you're arrogant from that post and if they loved Spyro they wouldn't go to a forum with a jealous, arrogant webmaster. The link to my forum has existed in my Signature since July, I also posted links at other sites months ago. If wikia is as great as you say it is, with the kind of user basis you say it has, why hasn't your wiki skyrocketed (serious question)? Wikia may have loads of members but that doesn't necessarily mean they care about Spyro. Haha, and now you go for the kill. Now you're being manipulative and playing to other's emotions? Yes, I'm arrogant. Yes, I'm annoyed. Yes, I get arrogant when I get annoyed.

It started six days ago. Like you've said, yours has been up months, but your activity has just shot up.

Honestly, I think that you turned it into a competition first. I think its quite a coincidence that ads for your Wiki started showing up (as in topics) the next day, after I attempted to advertise of VUForums. If this wasn't a competition, you wouldn't have felt threatened by my Wiki's creation, and as such, would have not attempted to close the holes through which I can get new users.

I already replied to this at GameFAQs. I already had a message about my wiki at GameFAQs months ago and the purge cleared it out. I also already had a message at VU Games and other sites. Yes, I did post links at several sites after you came advertising to VU Games, but because of two factors: A) I'm on winter break so I have a lot of free time on hand I didn't have in the summer when my wiki began and you inspired me to go spread the word more, just posting links in sigs/profiles (which I did in July) isn't ever enough.

I may have 'inspired' you, but still, it was an attack on my userbase. Certainly, people have known about here if they were here six months ago. Newer members, or those who did not see your thread, may not have. Inspiration or a carefully calculated ploy to stop my Wiki, and thus your compeition, it doesn't matter, as what's done is done. I'm personally going to go with the latter, based on your responses as you are trying to make a good image for yourself by being manipulative and pointing out 'my arrogance' among other things which can be summarized as 'My Wiki is better than his.'

Honestly, this bickering and underhanded tactics is stupid. We're not children, we're mature enough to have a fair competition (I shall stress that you have made it a competition) without childishly slinging mud.

You seem awfully defensive over absolutely nothing. I might point out if your so keen on pointing things out, you became a member of these sites for the sole sake of posting links to your wiki. I've been members of these sites for years now, so I think you'd be right about me trying to 'choke your wiki to death' if these were new accounts formed after your VUG post, but to me it was just another post at the sites I'm on daily.

Using words such as 'ploy' and 'manipulative' furthers my feeling that you think you're better than me. As I said on VUG, I had no time to help with your wiki so we could each do our own thing or you could help on mine. Clearly you have no interest in helping my wiki, which is fine, so then we're going to do our own thing. I thought that was settled. Coming to these boards to attack me isn't 'doing your own thing'.

I wasn't going to even advertise on any of these sites until I saw your ads (I've been lurking said sites, as opposed to posting ). I only joined VUGames to advertise, as that was the official Spyro forum.

If you have seen my own forums I'm one of several mods but I'm the least active. If I can't spend time patrolling my own forum how could I spend it on your wiki? You sounded like you had more time, and since my wiki had been around for awhile I didn't think it was unfair to say you could become my partner. I agreed with you we could go our own way yet you still came here and began to attack me. That's why it seems competitive. If we agreed to go our own way then why did you come back here to say all these things to me?

I didn't even knew Spyro = Neal until I posted on VU Forums. I knew yours existed, but I didn't see you viamently advertising it there, so I assumed that you weren't there Hoo boy, was I wrong

Then you look inferior. So be it. dark52 here had this Spyro news site before me. And Mozepy had Spyro Universe before that. Did dark52 feel inferior? I'm not him but I doubt he did. Did I feel inferior when I created a news site. Absolutely not. I loved/still love both Spyro Universe and Dark Spyro, but I created my own news site. I didn't feel inferior. If I knew I could do things different - maybe get more news, or the news faster, or do feature articles now and then - why should I feel inferior. Mozepy doesn't have time for his site anymore and I'm not alone at my site, so that's why mine were different not meant to crush darkSpyro or Spyro Universe (which they haven't and won't). As supposed to coming here and acting so offended to my posts you could have just made a different post with the secret intention to outdo me, rather than make it so public that you have it in for me. I don't have it in for you, I wish you all the best, but as I said at GFAQs I wish these Spyro sites could be consolidated so we, unlike other game franchises, could exist as one big clump pf fans, not dozens of smaller sites/places. That's my intention. Not to be in control but rather to bring us all together as supposed to seeing more spreading out.

Its not feeling inferior, its having an inferior image to those onlooking. I feel great about this, and have every hope my project will succeed. However, Wikis are different from Websites. They require dedicated contributions, and unfortunately, those who choose yours would opt to not choose mine. And like you said, if we had the same information, we'd only be mirror sites, which is why if information is posted to yours, it wouldn't find its way to mine. Also, your information isn't public domain, mine is.

On the topic of the whole consolidation thing, that's what Wiki is, a consolidated tome of knowledge, filling in detailed information on specific topics Wikipedia won't cover.

Mine is not wikipedia. How isn't mine public domain? A wiki is a public domain. Mine is a media wiki, yours comes from wikia. There isn't a gigantic difference.

I'm talking about the information. Public domain information = free to use/copy by anyone. If someone were to take information from your site, as your site is a private site, and you have not mentioned anything about freeing any information on it into the public domain, it would be illegal. However, my site is public domain, so taking information from mine is A-Okay under the law

"Private" generally means you own it. I own my wiki. You own yours. It's like the business my parents have - we own a campground so it is called a 'private park', but anyone can come there, fish, swim, and take those fish with them. Private doesn't = illegal if you take in every form. Anyways, I've gone to VU PM system to continue this. Go there if you desire to continue. We shouldn't pollute dark52's boards like this.

Eh, not true. Wikia is under the GNU Free Documentation License (http://www.wikia.com/wiki/Text_of_the_GNU_Free_Documentation_License), and as such, since it is a knowledge tome, all information posted on there is public domain.
