She was supposed to look black. Concept art really messed up her scale color, and EL probably copied the color from her TEN concept art.

I think it depended on the viewer how purple she looked in DotD. I saw footage of the game on three different screens and she always looked generally blue, except in certain lighting. She's blue in the strategy guide, too. Either way, though, that's just more inconsistency from the LoS team.
