Do this for any flub in DOTD. I have a few, but they are bad.

Here's an example

Cynder changed colour because she was never supposed to be a black dragon, and the evil black colour is slowly draining out of her.

That was lame but . . .

(By the way these don't have to make complete sense or be true)

She is not shown as black because HD has trouble with read black.

spyro and cynder cant fly over the buildings and belt of fire because their wings have not developed enough yet.

With the Belt of Fire, a better expanation is that Malefor would expect dragons to fly over, and would have at least one 'suprise' ready for them.

Cynder's bondage grows from her skin.
Spyro looks kinda pink coz he's getting wimpier and the color reflects that.
Cynder has a crappy personality because the crystal cut off her proper air flow, killing her brain in part.

Adding to your idea, they didn't grow... They just got thiner because they hadn't eaten anything so it made them look like they'd aged...
