Is he dead? I think he is, but I want him to be alive so does anyone have other theories about what happened to him?

I reckon he's dead. I don't know, but I think I've heard that he's been seen in a TEN cutscene (I only have the DS game, it isn't the same), and he was trainign Malefor, so he'd be old. Second, Ignitus was dead when he got teh powers. Third, the Chronicler just vanished as he gave his powers to Ignitus, I reckon that'd be a heck of a lot easier for a ghost to do than a living creature.

He vanished..leaving the world forever....so he's dead...he revived Ignitus by giving him his powers and to make Spyro feel better.So now when Spyro visits the WHite Isle..he'll get a little surprise..xDDD

Hes been dead for yonks, he was worvy so one of the previous Chronichlers choose him and brought his BODY back. Ignitus was a spirit and the Chronichler did the same to him, he is now a spirit again.

The Chronicler is milinnia old, before the Dragon City, so he thought that it was about time that he died, exept for the fact that "spyro, when a dragon dies, he does not truly leave this world. he binds himself with nature, offering hope for the future..." (from memory).
And his name is Marion!
