I'm kinda bored, so I wanted to ask why you can't break crystals with fire or other elements, and have to destroy them physicaly instead.

Because EL is dumb and don't understand physics very well. Why would you want to waste mana on breaking them anyway?

Oh, I know a reason! If you're fighting grublins and a cystal is nearby, you could get them both in one shot.

As I see it these crystals are as hard as diamond or something, and it takes a lot of power to break them. So a fire breath or any other breath can't destroy them.
That's my theory

But the elemental attacks are SUPPOSED to be stronger than your melee attacks. Therefore, the physical attacks shouldn't be strong enough to break the crystals. These warped physics are clearly a GLARING contradiction! TAKE THAT!

Well, I guess the game designers in this game just forgot to take into account these physics. (This is just my opinion, however, and can be thoroughly debated if need be.) After all, when designing a game, some (but not all) games and their companies often forget to include some physics in the game, and just go along with the original idea someone came forward with. I guess what I'm trying to say is that physics and video games sometimes don't mix. Now I know there are some games out there that do include physics (like for example Super Mario Galaxy and the whole Gravity Concept toward the planets), but their are games out there that do neglect to include physics in them (like in Kirby's Dream Land where you can float forever over the entire level).

Take a large crystal of rock salt. Which is most effective for breaking it - pounding it with a hammer or blowing wind at it? Or, better yet, screaming fear at it? 8D

Perhaps it's the forces of magic in Spyro's world. They are magic gems, therefore tehy could have some power on them that works against elemental attacks.
Still, Physics...

well elements should be able to breack the crystalls but what i dont get is that it takes you like 5 or 6 shots at trying to breack it but at the start a signle monster does it with a stitck?
