By any chance are you able to help me with the green dragon on the DS version? I can only get up the bit where the dragon starts using Earth breath and I can't get any further.

I need help with all the armored enemies...I think I'm getting to the end & they just keep coming & then I get clamoured because spyro can't recover quick enough!!! I've tried everything from running around & luring them one at a time to standing on the other platform and throwing earth flails at them. I'm at a loss here.

Go to near the thing you just came off of, and throw electic orbs at them and dodge their ranged attacks. There is a thing of infinite breath gems near by.

ok so that's not working. I can't get jumped high enough with the orb to hit them. it just keeps bouncing off...sometimes I do better when I'm on the same platform as them & sometimes I don't...it really shouldn't be this difficult but i'm about to give up on it.

Fire is good against them. Also you can knock the mounted ones up and over the edge.

Ok...patience paid off & i finally beat this wave of armoured non-sense...although it took some combinations of different elements...i hope the rest of the game isn't that frustrating...thanks for the help.

That is the place where many game reveiwers quit. That is one of the hardest mob battles.

so let's pick the brain some more....what is the best way to dodge Gaul's tornado attack....obviously for me, it's not running from him. I'm now back to square one but I need a better strategy than the couple of posts on here.

If you use Spyro's "Bezerk Melee" attack (that's the Magic Attack, not the Convexity Breath) when Gaul is practically on top of you, you dive right through the attack. However timing is everything. >.>

Thanks but I beat him...not sure how but I did it...for some reason he only used the tornado thing twice when I went back to it and I was able to convexity breath the heck out of him. Then just fury at the end....was pretty cool, actually....my heart was kinda racing doing it...now off to the dragon challenges and hopefully we'll be done.

Gaul 2's tornado attack is his most damaging and difficult to avoid attack so it's no surprise that people might have difficulties dodging it.
There are two main ways to dodge it: 1-the risky method, as HIR has explained. If you time the Beserk Dash (secondary Dark-elemental breath attack) correctly, Spyro will go right through the tornado AND you'll get a headstart on damaging Gaul. If you miss, you'll be struck and sent skyhigh for the kill. Timing is everything, as HIR said. 2-the safe method. Simply run away from Gaul but keep an eye on the distance. Near the end of the attack, the strength of the tornado will increase causing Gaul to pull you in. Use Dragon Time to fight back and prevent him from sucking you into the tornado. It's overall safer and easier to pull off but you must have your Dragon Time meter full/near full by the time he start pulling you in. In both cases, you MUST NOT be close to him when he start the attack or else, he'll drag you in and send you flying. When you see Gaul beginning to wind up for the attack (he'll bring up his arms in a characteristic way), RUN AWAY FROM HIM. If you are struck, he'll send you flying very high before slamming you back into the floor. This hurts a LOT and will remove about a quarter of your health so make sure you glide/tail strike before being slammed in order to minimize damage. |

Or while in the air you could use the breath and aim at him while decinding slowly.
