Prologe: Whispers in the Dark


I feel an eriy darkness! Not the dark of my prison, somthing ancient & powerful aswell as cold & calculatin'!

I hear a voice whispers to me, 'Come, little 1! Let me show u the power of darkness! Join me & rule the world! LET THE POWER OF CONVEXITY FLOW & RULE THREW UR BODY!!!!'

I then hear some1less say, "Darkness clouds this hatchlings future!!"

Chapter 1: Freedom & Fun

I struggle & break out of my prison! I open my eyes & see an elder grey-blue grown-up dragon!"Hello, Malefor the purple dragon!" the elder whispers to me! 'That must be the Chronicler!' I don't know how I knew that.

"Dad-da?" I coo at him. I look around, no1 else notices me! "We go home, daddy?" He nods & we fly away from the Temple. Has we fly, I look down & see a female royal purple dragon. She's injured... Badly! She looks up at me n' mouths somethin', but I can't tell what!!

"Yes, but u'll see ur friends tomorrow at the Dragon Temple! I'll take good care of u, Mali!" Dad says.

We reach a strech of snowy islands: the White Isles! Dad finds me a room close to him. Then, we go outside & have some fun: chasin' birds, snowball fights, makin' snowdragons, etc! Night comes early for us!

Dad tucks me in. "Good night, my dark prince!"

"Dad?" he stops in the doorway. "Am I really the Prince of the Dark?" he shakes his head no! I'm his little Prince of the Light! He walks off into his study! I follow him.

Chronicler picks up a book & throws in discust! The title is 'Malefor: The Dark Master'. "History doesn't repeat itself! The future isn't writtin' in stone!" he mutters to himself!

1 thought rolls threw my mind, 'Am I the new Dark Master?'

Chapter 2: Mali or Malefor, Who Am I?

Dad falls asleep, so I enter his study! I look at the book he threw. 'Malefor! That's what dad called me when I hatched!' I think. The book is open, so...
Curiosity got the better of me & I started readin' it. I see myself w/unlimited power & a true master of every element! Yet, it has a price...
I KILL THE GUARDIANS, MY FRIENDS, & MY DAD BARELY ESCAPES!!!

Then the voice returned, 'THIS IS UR FUTURE, YOUNGLING! U R MEANT TO RESERUCT THE DESTROYER & CLEANSE THE WORLD! DON'T FIGHT UR DESTINY, MALEFOR THE DARK MASTER!!!"

'NO! I'M NOT GOING TO BE LIKE THE OTHER PURPLE DRAGONS & BECOME THE DARK MASTER! I'M GOING TO BE THE MASTER OF LIGHT!!!' I yell at the voice.

Then I see a purple, black mist raise infront of me & turn into a grown-up dark, purple dragon. 'Malefor, the Dark Master!' I whisper.

He grabs me by the throat. "U r a fool if u think u can escape ur destiny! NO1 IS DENYED THERE DESTINY, NOT EVEN ME!!! DARKNESS CLOUDES UR HEART, MALI! GIVE INTO IT!!!!!"

Malefor stapes my heart & piosons me w/darkness.......

Chapter 3: Black, Gray, & White! Dawn & Twilight!

I feel darkness spread threwout my body. It takes over my mind, soul & body! Malefor lets me go & I fall on the ground. "Riase, my appintice!"

I get on all fours & say, "What is ur bidding, Lo-! Lor-! L-! -"

Malefor punches me in the head. "Say it, u worm!!!" The word doesn't leave my lips.

Then, a bright light surrounds me. The power of Convexity vanishes from my body; well... 1/2 of it is replaced w/Light!

Malefor looks at me in fear, "Wh- what r u??"

I look at my body; I now have black, gray, & white purple scales! "I am the 1 who walkes the middle road of dawn & twilight! Call me Mali, the Twilight Master!" Malefor backes away from me, openin' a portal to the world of Convexity! "Leavin' so soon, Malefor?" I use a Twilight Fury & he screams into oblivion!

My scales turn back to their normal purple colour. Then I pick up Malefors book & pick up from where I left off!

Chapter 4: Training = Power! Power = Life n' Death!

Dad finally wakes up, it's only 3 AM. "Morning, Mali. !!! MALI!"

I lower the book to look, "Yes, dad?" He walks over n' see what I'm reading.

"U must be guardian material if u can master the elements!" he says lookin' at the page when 'Malefor' becomes a master.

Then we fly to the Dragon Temple! I see a few thousand hatchlings waiting at the door w/thier parents. The doors open & each hatchling goes to thier respective teacher:
Light Red: Ishlandur of fire.
Blue: Kytheron of ice.
Yellow: Angtor of electricity.
Dark Green: Perisher of earth.
Light Green: Posi of posion.
Dark Red: Pheobe of fear.
Black: Night of Shadow.
White/Light Colour: Ari of wind.

Convex of convexity has no students, yet I notice he has my scale colour. "Malefor, Chroniclers' son. I'll teach u Convexity...If ur dad will let me!" Convex says smilein' evilly at me, just like Malefor. Dad nod & Convex beggins my training.

I use Dragon Time to learn faster. I master Convexity in... 10 seconds, maybe! Then I go to the other Guardians n' learn from them.

'I'm bored! Wonder if I can do a fury w/all of the elemnets!...
The Ultimate Fury!' I think to my self.

Convex said that only very powerful dragons can use the Ultimate Fury... & they all died!
(When perfectly health, strong, young, & powerful dragons r dyin' from usin' a fury, u know it's dangerous!!!!)

As I go outside, 1 thought rolles: 'I guess I have a death wish, heh heh!'

Chapter 5: Close Call W/Death!

I go to a clearing n' focus my energy. I hear dad call me! Then, an explosion rocks the land!! I see Chronicler look at me, "What, Dad? I'm just practicen the Ultimate Fury!" Next thing I know, I'm on the ground tellin' dad that I read Malefors book!

Then the world goes black!!!!

Mali, come to me! I'll show u what is on the otherside! Take my hand!

I look at the skeleton dressed in a jet-black-on-jeat-black robe holdin' a scythe. IT HAS NO EYES! NO SOUL!! NO HEART!!!NO NOTHING!!!!

U may call me... DEATH!!!!!

I wake up in the Vision Pool, the Elders all around me. My talons r in the water, so I splash Kytheron. She splashes me back. Then dad sits beside me, tears in his eyes. I see what happened while I was in the Abyss.

"The Elders say ur goin' to make a full recovery, son." Chronicler says, his voice crackin' up.

I touch the back of my head & feel 10 scars all the shape off arrowhead tips!

Chapter 6: Sarah, BFF & GF!

1 year later....

Me and Chronicler live w/the Elders now-after I got hurt, Dad knew we had to! I also teach younglings now. In addition, I spead up time to make myself 12 yrs old, 'til I am 12! Plus I also have a girlfriend, a beutiful mix dragoness named Sarah! She's the same age & has the same element(s) as me! Yet, she has a leg injury, so she can't fight w/her full strength!

"Malefor?" Sarah says,after training.

I looks at her, sweating from combat training. "Yeah. What's up, Sarah?" I wipes my forehead & blows ice over my body.

She gets close to me, our spikes hooking. "I'm a little hot! Heh, heh!"

Dad watch us train while Sarahs' grandma, Crisy, talk to him. I hear what they r saying! "What does she say about my son, Crisy?"

"He's really nice, caring, loving, etc. I'm not suprised that they r close friends!" Crisy says, looking at them also.

Me & Sarah walk towards them, still hooked by our wings! We let go & walks over to out reletives. "What's up w/u, Prince of Light?"

I looks at him & says, "Sarah's just so cute, yet I don't disirve her! She doesn't deserve me either!" I've been putting myself down eversince Sarah told me she wants to be my girlfriend. Dad says I'll turn into the Dark Master, but I told himI have it under control.

Sarah & Crisy say good-bye to us & go home. We go to our rooms and sleep. "Dad?" We stop in the Vision Pool room. I look over the water. He knows what I'm trying to do, but only 'experianced dragons can see into the future thru the Pool of Visions.'

".....Nothing. Let's go to sleep!" I feel a tear fall from my face.

"U miss her, don't u!"

"Yes, but I'll see her tommorrow. Right dad?"

"Yes u will. Mali, the Prince of Light!" We climb into bed & fall asleep.

Chapter 7: Crawling In The Dark

Dreams! People say they r visions of the future, others say lost memories from ur past, etc! Yet, I have been having 1 dream over & over ever since I hatched!!! This is what I dream!

Darkness! A black void w/nothing inside! Yet, everything inside! All alone! A voice echos all around me!

"Give into the darkness! It is the only way to discover ur destiny! U r the Dark Master, u r me! Let it show u true power!"

I fall on me knees, my claws digging into my face! "STOP THIS MALEFOR! I'M NOT U, I'M THE TWILIGHT MASTER!!!"

Then I feel Light over come me. The Darkness vanishes & I hear some1 say, "Which side do u walk, Light or Dark?"

"The middle road of Dawn & Twilight!" Then I wake up. The 2nd voice still echoing in my mind! *Echo: 'Light or Dark'*

*Malefor grabs Mali by the throat*: "I COULD KILL U RIGHT KNOW! BUT I'LL LET U SUFFER FOR UR DISOBEDEINCE! DEATH WILL CLOUD UR FUTURE!" *Malefor vanishes*

*Mali thinking*: 'Help me, Lord Jesus!'

I think that any one would be freaking out if they were gonna turn evil and kill everyone they love any second. You need ideas? umm... how about: mali turns evil for a little bit, and runs away on a journey... (thats quite a bit of the story) but he eventualy returns, and has to fight malefor 1 last time. Hey, that doesn't sound half bad, considering that I just came up with it... maybe I should start writing...

Chapter 8: Birthday

"Happy Birthday, Mali & Sarah!!! Happy Birthday to u!" The Elders say to me n' Sarah. Dad & the Guardians even make usa cake!!

'Mali, The Chroniclers' Son. Age: 12. Elememt: All! Colour: Purple.'
'Sarah, Cristys' Daughter. Age: 12. Element: All. Colour: Mix.'

"Thanks every1!" We say, lookin' at our cakes! We blow out the candles, but we use fire and relight them. "Ops! Hah, hah."

Kytheron blows the candles out and says "Make a wish u 2!"

We do and then start rippin' open the presents!

Sarah gets some claw polish, scale makeup, room apperal, & a bunch of other young dragoness stuff!
I gets a skateboard, 'The Big Book About Purple Dragons', personal training dummies, & other young dragon gear!

"Thanks!" We say...

Then Dad taps me on the shoulder. "Um...Son!" I turn around & see he has a box. I take the box from him.

I walk over to Sarah, kneel, & open the box. "Sarah... Will u marry me, please?"

She looks at me & puts the ring on... It looks like 2 dragons w/there tails intertwined & their snouts r touching. 1 has purple eyes & the other has mixed eyes. "Yes! I'll marry u, Mali!!!!"

i think i read this chapter before.

Chapter 9: Wedding

The Next Day...

Dad watch me get ready for the wedding. "Need help, my little Prince of Light?"

"DAD!!!" I scold him for still calling me that. He thinks it's really funny, but I don't. "No. But I am nervous."

Chronicler give me some advise & we fly over to the wedding. Sarah & Cristy r there, waiting by the door. "Ready, Sarah?" I ask, standing up straight. She is, we lock wing spikes & walk in!

At alter, the preacher says the vows. We both say "If we didn't mean this, do u think we would be here. We do!"

"I pronounce u man & wife. Kiss ur bride!" I remove Sarahs vial & kisses her gently. Every1 cheered & whooped!! Dad just write down what happens.

Cake, dancing, wedding gifts, & a 'premashure baby shower?'

Chapter 10: Road of Life

After the wedding, we fly towards the Temple! Dad follow us. All 3 of us stop. We r teleported to a world of blackness! Convexity!! A purple beam of light w/2 red eyes glare at us. 'Malefor! U r to destroy the world. I will not let ur 'Dad' deny u that right! The Path of Light or the Path of Night! Make ur choice, hatchling!!!'

I look at the Dark Master & start to glow pure white. "We may be the Dark Master, but I'll never become the Dark Master! I chose the Path of Middle!"

'The Path of Nightfall!'

I fire a beam of pure light at the Dark Master. "The Path of Dawn & Twilight!" The World of Convexity vanishes forever. We return to the Temple. "Element of Light!"

Dad gives us our books. "Write ur own destiny. Protect the World of Dawn!" Then he walk off... Tears in his eyes. Me n' Sarah go to our rooms, only to be attacked by the Apes! They have a blade at Sarah!

*BLACKOUT* I wake up. The Apes r gone, but our room is a mess. "The Apes took Mali!" I hear Sarah say. Dad sees me under the bed. "MALI!!!!" she says huging me!

"Sarah.... (gasping for air)... Sarah ur chocking me!!" she releses me & I looks bright blue! I gets my colour back fast. "I beat the Apes up! Easy!"

We fix up the room & go to sleep! Dad n' my nightmare is finaly over.

Chapter 11: Then I Relised, Happyness....

It's another Yr of the Dragon! Sarah had 2 egg a few days earlier, so we can't what for them to hatch! "What will their future be, dad?" I ask Chronicler.

"U defied ur destiny, let them go thier own way." 'Wise words from a wise dragon.' Then, they hatch!

"Let's call the boy Spy n' the girl Cyn! Alright, honey?" Sarah says, kissin' me. I nod, smiling!

Only the girl has black scales n' orange stripes.
The boy has purple scales n' white streaks.)

Then, Spy hick-ups & he fires theUltimate breath!! Cyn coos & does the same thing!! "WOW!!" The Guardians says in unison! "THEY KNOW THE ULTIMATE BREATH!!!!"

Our kids soon fall asleep, so Sarah takes them to bed. I look at my book & give it to Chronicler. "Ur going to need this, dad."

He pushes it away & say, "I told u to write ur own destiny! That's what I meant, Mali!" I feel hurt, so he gives me a hug. "I'll always love u Mali! Even if u turn into the Dark Master, I'll still love u!"

The Elders walk up to us. They hand me a gem: it has every colour under the sun on it, yet it's only the size of a human thumb. "Take good care of this gem!"

I nods & hold it over my heart! The gem fades into my scales, then vanishes! Not even a scar is there!!! "What just happened?!"

"That gem binds dragons hearts together. We all it 'The Friendship Gem.' " Sarah comes in & looks at me. Then she grabs me by my paw & drags me outside!

Chapter 12: ... Lies Trapped in Misery!

I hear the Elders talkin', so I stop at the door. "What was that gem really for?" Dad askes them.

"What we said it was for. But ur son's the only 1 to absorb it into his skin!" Ishlandur says, calmly. "Malefor-" He's on the other side of the Temple faster then he can think!

I sees dad grab him by his throat & say, "DON'T CALL MY SON THE DARK MASTER!! MALI MADE HIS CHOICE NOT TO FOLLOW THE PURPLE DRAGONS BEFORE HIM! IF ANY OF U SAY THAT NAME AGAIN, I'LL HURT SO BAD, UR GRANDKIDS WILL FEEL THE PAIN!!!!!"

The Guardians look at him w/fear in their eyes. Dad soon calms down... droppin' Ishlandur on his butt. "Sorry. I just don't like any1 saying that." The Gaurdians nod in agreement. Ishlandur is the only 1 who doesn't. "U want to feel real pain? Ishlandur?"

He shakes his head, "I won't say that word again."

Dad fix the Temple & walks in the Vision Pool. He find my dark book; Malefor: The Dark Master n' picks it up. He look at the Pool of Visions... I know what he sees... my future! I'm a very strong, kind & caring dragon n' my family follow the middle path. Then, dad looksmy dark book & erase it! "May u never come back!"

I walk in a few seconds later. Dad givesme a hug. "May the Ancestors look after you. May they look after us all." I tell him as he lets go. Chronicler nod. Then we look into the Vision Pool together... & we see the samething!
