NO. She's not another purple dragon, it was just the color shading EL made on Cynder to make it look like she's a purple dragon when she's in the sunlight. Cynder is STILL a BLACK dragon.

I'm starting to believe that such claims are actually trolling.

To summarize...

Cynder is *CANONICALLY* a black dragon. The "purple" color is actually only due to lighting saturation during gameplay and cutscenes. Cynder has always been, is, and will always be black, not purple.

Yeah, the game's lighting is particularly funky. Personally, I think it's less visible on the so-called "graphically inferior" Wii/PS2 versions... either that, or I'm more color blind than I thought. @.@

No, she isn't purple. No, she isn't black either. She's clearly not black, she's grown out of it. But she isn't quite purple enough to be purple. Could be the natural/usual colour of a Wind dragon.

You're write, when Cynder is in the shadows, she's like black, just in the light what she look "dark purple"

In dawn of the dragon she is dark BLUE with a HINT of PURPLE in the sunlight. Not purple.

saying that cynder is a wind dragon is like saying that spyro is an electricity dragon. clearly, both of those statments are true, but spyro is also a fire, ice, and earth dragon. now, they made cynder a blueish blackish dragon that looks like a bruise, but they also made spyro lighter to make up for it... not that i totaly agree with that, but it really adds emphisas at the end when they change for a while, doesnt it?

Cynder's a mood dragon, end of story. She's like a mood ring except her colors are black, blue, and purple. Black for evil and angry, blue for emo and sad, and purple for emotionless and horrible acting. *shot*

And in my personal belief, she might well be, for several reasons which other people have explained elsewhere.

I think she is a wind dragon because all of her other elements arn not natural.

I always thought Cynder's main element was Fire, seeing as she is a black Dragon and black is the colour of ashes, due to her name also. Its just a mistype of the term Cinder, which is something to do with a volcano. Althought she didnt posses it in any of the games, due to her corruption she may have lost it, being replaced with the 4 elements she had in DOTD.

Many people think that the breath she used in ANB, was fire. But others believe it is Krome's version of shadow fire, and indeed it looks more powerfull.

EL didnt have the greatest colouring techniques, so it looks like Cynder is more of a purple/black colour.

Still think she's a mood dragon~

I think it was confirmed it was shadow fire in ANB when they had the promotion in one of the fast food restaurants, wasnt there a card or something with information on each of the chars and for Cynder it said element: shadow fire?

I reckon she's wind, because it seems most dragons are born with a natural 'light' element. Fire dragons e.g. Ignitus, seem to be usually red. Her ANB Breath was Shadow Fire, not normal fire, so it was probably associated with her being plagued with darkness. Being dark and evil, she probably wouldn't have a light element then. And as it appears, fear, poison and shadow are 'dark' and unnatural elements. Poison is a detructive, deadly form, fear is hard to describe but 'bad', and shadow is black, and shadows are formed where the light is blocked, so probably an unnatural element associated with her darkness. Wind it white, not evil and can do some good in the world, so we can suppose that it is light. Being her only light element, it could well be her natural element.

I was referring to the post saying some people thought it was normal fire in ANB, not shadow fire. I wasnt saying it was her only element.

Wind is also good because it pollinates some plants, surely that adds to it's 'goodness'?
