I got a good idea for this story.
Anyways, this will be about Malefor's parents, from birth to death. It will mostly be about the Dark Master's father, Fell, but will also have a few chapters with the POV of his mother.
Only giving you the description of the father, no mother yet!
Fell- Black dragon with yellow eyes. He has a silver of green in his right eye. Also has one dark red horn.

******************************************** Aspid grunted. Teryx. Natrix spoke again. "He's summonded the council. All Deltas must report immediately." Natrix's eyes twinked when he spoke the word Delta. Aspid knew how the young dragon was just itching to be one, hoping that his horns would grow faster, until they had seven points, the true horns of a Delta. Aspid snorted and paced the stony temple floor. "Can't Teryx wait," he grunted. "Since he is Lord of the Drakes shouldn't he know that I have a mate to attend to?" Natrix's eyes stared blankly at him. "She will be birthing any minute." "I'm sorry, Captain," Natrix said. "I-I had no idea. But orders are orders and I can't simply run back to the Lord of the Drakes telling him that Aspid refuses to come. He'd slit my throat." Aspid snarled quietly to himself. Teryx is an old fool. Who had the weakness to let him become Lord? Dragons are quite aggressive species, and will fight for dominance and mates every winter. During this time, if a strong male is ambitious to become Lord, he must fight the Lord above him, and if he wins, demonstrating his courage and ferocity, then he is now their new Lord, the Lord of the Drakes. Aspid remembered the old stories of how Teryx overthrew the last lord about seven years ago, an old male named Malay. During the time, though, Malay was old and stiff. His horns, having an impressive number of ten, were still in shed and were not sharpened. However, many thought Teryx took agvantage of that, and sought to defeat him and become the new Lord. However, after this, nobody ever saw Malay again. Some say that he was killed by Teryx, others say he ran away to find a Dieing Place. Aspid always thought differently, though, that there were more dragons helping to accomplish the kill of Malay, that there were still killers hiding amongst them. The great blue dragon sighed. "Thank you, Natrix," he snorted. "You've grown into a fine young male." He began walking back to the insides of the temple, heading for the west. Iff teryx wanted to see him, then fine, he would come, he would come after he checked on his mate. Natrix stayed put, watching the great Captain of the Deltas go. "May Amelan be with you, Aspid." |

Oh, if your wondering, the Guardians were not invented in this time period. Remember, this is Malefor's grandfather were talking about right now.
And at this time period, dragons were relitevely new to the Earth, and couldn't master any of the elements. We'll get to that later, when Fell is born. ****************************************** Aspid continued through the temple, his claws scraping the ground, his breath condensing in the air, the day giving way to a cold moon. The Captain's mind was full of his mate and the council. That's all Teryx does these days, he thought bitterly. Aspid was famous for his dislike of the Lord, and Teryx himself knew so. Some loyal to the old dragon, hated Aspid for his hate of the Lord, but they didn't dare challenge an eight-pointer Delta. Soon after Teryx became Lord of the Drakes, he started making his own rules. He began expanding the territory he claimed, as far as the Northern Mountains, and as southern as the sea's point. He sent scouts to recruit other temples of different and unknown dragons to join him. Aspid noticed many newcomers at one time or another and he could see that the Temple of Tor was becoming quite crowded. But Teryx's plans of finding a new home were buzzing through the dragons, and news that he was planning on getting rid of the Deltas shocked many dragons. Aspid was the slightest bit concerned, but he would stand his ground and fight for the Deltas with his last breath as a true Captain would. |

Thanks. Remember, there may be some pretty shocking stuff in here involving mates and what not. I'm trying to make this realistic and relate back to an old time.
********************************************** Aspid reached the west side of the temple, and immediately, a damp feeling came over him, that soothed his scales and relaxed his muscles. Dragons generally like humid, moist environments, and with all the sphagnum moss surrounding the area, it was a comfortable place in which a female would lay her eggs. It was late April, and after the mating season in winter, many females had already laid their eggs in early spring, but Aspid's mate was late for unknown reasons, so the nursery wasn't very crowded, just a few females resting here and there, as well as an older female dragon, Eunect. She was almost like a mother figure to the females, as she spent most of her time in the nursery, tending to other dragon's needs. She was rather big for her size, but her age made up for it, and she had dull green scales. Aspid heard stories of the past how Eunect's scales used to be a glistening teal color, but grew dull with age. Mabye that's why she caught Teryx's eye, Aspid used to think. Teryx was known for being fond of green scales. Aspid liked her, but he always felt a strange uncomfortable feeling around her, considering she was one of Teryx's previous mates. After rounding some corners, Aspid nodded his head in approval to Eunect, who was gnawing on the last morsels of a rabbit's hind leg, her teeth digging into its bones to lick out the nutritious cartilage inside. Aspid watched for a split second on how her curved, sharp fangs dug into the rabbit remains, impaling anything in its way and stabbing the savory meat. After padding to the back of the nursery, where most dragons lay there eggs, he found his beautiful mate sleeping on the floor. The beautiful Naja. The cool sunset light shone down from a hole in the top of the temple, illuminating her luscious black scales. During this time, black dragons were considered to be cursed with evil sprirts, so many dragons who were foolish enough to believe it stayed away from her, but Aspid knew. He knew it wasn't true. When she had pushed her way through the fighting males during winter, only to pad up to him, her four-pointed horns matching his in height, he knew that she was his. Aspid slowly prowled up to Naja. There was a flash of yellow, and one bright eye opened, disturbed by the scraping of Aspid's moving claws. She lifted her head, a hard feat because of her swollen belly, and looked at Aspid. "Captain," she murmured. He snorted with a tone of laughter. "From my mate, I prefer Aspid." He walked up to her, bending his long head down and licked her with his long tongue. She closed her eye again and smiled. It was rare for dragons to have such bonds as Naja and Aspid had. During winter, males fought constantly for females, mated with them, and rarely remained in a long term bond. Aspid had been like this with his other mates, but for Naja, he felt a strange connection to her, as she did to him. "How are you?" Aspid asked her gently. She swung her jet-black neck to her belly. "They're coming. Soon. Any minute now." 'How many?" Aspid would never tell Naja, but he was dying to have all their offspring be males, to continue his powerful bloodline and become Captain of the Deltas like he was. "Three or four, I think," Naja said sleepily. Aspid nodded. "Teryx has summounded the council again," he hissed, his pink gums and white teeth showing. "I must attend." "You won't be here when they come," Naja replied. "I understand." Aspid could tell she had wanted him here, but she knew he couldn't let his position in the temple down. "I will come back as soon as it is over," he promised. "Don't worry. I will bear you fine little Deltas." She smiled at him, then lay her head back down. "Good luck." With that he padded out of her confined space and passed Eunect. "Eunect?" The green dragon lifted her head. "Watch Naja for me," he said. "She is near her time and I want someone on watch." The green dragon dipped her head. "Of course. Anything for the Captain's mate." Aspid nodded. "Thank you." Continueing in a slight trot, he made his way to the east side of the temple, the sunset gone and the clouds covering the moon. Aspid opened his mouth, drawing in the night air. Rain. Rain will be on the way. |

******************************** Aspid trudged through the temple, feeling the cold air thicken with damp moisture as the rain began to fall. Light drops fell onto the dragon's head as a few drops splashed onto his head through the various temple openings in the ceilings. He passed no male dragons, guessing they were all at the council. It was usually the males who were present, besides the female Outriders. Teryx thought, as well as the other Lords, that males had a more important and dominant role in a temple, and were born to lead. As he approached the main eastern temple door, he could hear Teryx's booming voice, followed by an outburst from what sounded like Tropid, a fellow Outrider, being a seven pointer. Aspid took a deep breath, knowing he was late and that all hostile eyes would be on him. As he nudged the door open with his shoulder, it made a loud creak, swinging open with ease. All heads immediately whipped to him, including Teryx's, who stared down at him from his position at a high ridge in the temple room. His eyes twinkled with pleasure, but as Aspid looked him clear in the eye, he could see that teryx wasn't pleased, and that the mockery of pleasure was fake. "Ah, Captain Aspid," he said smoothly. At this, some of the dragons bowed their heads, including all the Outriders gathered together. "Such an honor," he continued. Aspid tipped his head to Teryx lightly, wincing at the move, as he wanted nothing more than to claw the dragon's face. Teryx ignored him and turned his head to his second in command, Xerxes, a proud tan dragon with an unusual head of three horns. Aspid held back a laugh. But Xerxes held something else that made dragons who looked at him look away in distubance. His left eye flashed bright, bright red, so bright, that it bore into dragons eyes as they stared at him. No one could hold his gaze for more than a few seconds, for fear of being blinded. |

Thanks. Sorry for the big delays
******************************************** Xerxes found his way into the temple no more than three years ago. Not much was known about his past, all Aspid could dig up was that he'd been exiled from another temple and was a loner for his adolescent life, traveling around to different temples. Because of this, he had a high knowledge of other dragons, their temples, and the geography and weather. Teryx grew to liking him and soon made him second in command to himself. But Aspid thought he just wanted to have someone close around who shared the same ambitions as he did. To Aspid, Xerxes was just a normal male dragon, who was unfortunate enough to be able to grow only three horns, but there was something else in his look, something dark and promising, and it shown bright on his face every time he flashed a glance at Teryx. Teryx looked down at Xerxes, who stared blankly at Aspid, his red eye burning. "Xerxes, you musn't be rude and stall. IS that any way to treat a Captain?" Teryx's tone was filled with mockery that made Aspid's lip curl. But Xerxes just dipped his head. "My apologies, Captain," he said in his smooth tone. Teryx held up his wings and continued on. "But Aspid, I must ask why a Captain is so late? We were already in deep discussion before you burst through the door." Burst. He sounds so unwanting of me. Aspid gathered it all in a reluctant display of guilt for the Lord. "Forgive me, Lord, but one of my mate's is near her time. I had to come and see her." "Ah, yes," Teryx replied, his old voice rasping. "I would feel the same if I too, had mated with a black dragon." Aspid snarled. It was clear that Teryx was mocking him in front of the council, and now it had gone too far. But other dragons seemed to agree with Teryx, and all eyes were on him again. Xerxes was smiling. "Don't talk about my mate like that!" Aspid roared, his pink gums and white teeth showing menacingly. "It's none of your concern about who I choose!" Aspid felt anger pulse hot in his veins as he stared up at the dragon he hated the most. The Deltas were on edge, wondering if they should help their Captain, but as Aspid looked at them for a split second, it was clear that he wanted them to stay put. Funny though, he thought quickly. [/i]Rinkhals is missing.[/i] Teryx and Aspid stared at each other through the midst of dragons. His apologies. It's his fault. Say it, you old coward. But Xerxes just filled in for him. "Aspid, you and Teryx may discuss this later, but more now, we must move onto important matters." |
