I got a ds and i was wondering if i should get this game

As a general rule, the DS version is seen as the weakest link.

Unfortunately, the reviews are fairly useless ; they tend to flame the games with useless complaints (the usual "WAH! NOT INSOMNIAC!" stuff).

Still, according to what I've seen, the DS is truly the weakest link: it's watered down version of the Wii/PS2 game with some puzzles added in, unlike the GBA version that is a different game.

Of course, I have yet to try it so I cannot confirm but if you can, I would try it before buying it ; it doesn't seem to be the sure-buy that the Wii/PS2 and GBA versions are.

i personally suggest getting a console version, graphics are better, plotline is more advanced, etc.

It's a shame that you can't emulate DS games properly yet as I would have seen that to be the ticket for games that I won't likely buy. >.> Whichever, I don't know how long it'll take for me before I actually approach said DS incarnation, but hopefully it won't be as long as the wait between Shadow Legacy's release and my eventual rental of that title.

How does this look on the Wii?

I have this game for my DS and I love it!

I had it for the DS. It. was. AWFUL.

The controls are buggy, they sometimes don't even work! Especially the touch-screen. You can't even hear the blewdy VOICES cause somethings crackling in the background really badly. ANd the music...it can out someone to sleep. LIKE THE GAME CAN! it's just WAY too boring to even PLAY. It's just completely different to the console version, and not in a good way. The only good thing, I think, is the graphics. They're smooth...kind of like a PSOne game from over 10 years ago. But it still doesn't save it from its sheer BORINGNESS.

I traded it in for the PS2 version instead. IT'S MUCH BETTER.

yeah, i saw some gameplay from the DS, and you have to go through this stupid little thing with your stylus every time you knock an enemy into the air.

Those parts sometimes don't even RESPOND.

oh that just sound LOVELY!!! lol

But despite that...if you ignore it...you can beat it in a couple of hours.

All the GBA games were great in comparison. Even ... *shuddershudder* Fusion.

i didn't get fusion. it didn't look all that great to me. but what i really want is the nitro cart racing thing where you can race as Spyro.

Oh, Crash Nitro Kart? It's alright. Neither that nor the console version are any good.

Crash Nitro Kart (main console version) had a difficulty level that became tedious right near the end, and to this day I only conquered Velo twice (once with each team, to get normal endings). I didn't consider the handheld as I thought it would be a little striped down in comparison to the console one. I just never would have guessed that Spyro made a cameo though

The DS version looks good to me. I am getting it for Christmas. I have the PS2 version also. One thing I think looks good about this game is that it follows Spyro directly behind him instead of hovering above him.

If you want a handheld version, go for the GBA version! You'll be doing yourself a HUUUUUUUUUUUUGE favor! <.<

Dang, I was thinking about getting the DS version....

....before I read all of that. I won't get it anymore! Whoo hoo, I probably just saved some time and money.

If there's any way that I'll consider getting the DS version, it'll be a really, REALLY cheap purchase - even cheaper than the £15 I used for A New Beginning's DS incarnation.

I still want it badly. I will probably get it anyway... I enjoyed shadow legacy!

Being the huge fan I am, it's inevitable that I will buy this, good or bad. Also, as a side note: The GBA Crash Nitro Kart is way better than the Console versions.

I don't have a GBA, but why do you think the GBA CNK is better?

You don't feel like you're driving at 2 miles an hour, for starters. The console version is just so dang slow. It also has more characters to use (including Spyro) as well as some fun cheats to use.
