Tale 1 of 3.

Part 1

The dragon realms has been known as the world of great stories. The first purple dragon thought to be a great hero, his treachory to his own kind, and the next purple dragon destined to stop him. Tales of all kinds have been told about the dragon's journey.
Years have passed and the tales of Spyro's journey was one of the greatest stories told, He saves the elders, travels great distances, and defeats the dark master. His victory was one of the greatest moments in dragon history. But history is always in the making, and new tales must be told.

Its been many years since the dark master's defeat. Many generations of dragons went by. Heir after heir have taken the duty as the elders. But only direct heirs can be destined as an elder. Only sons, grandsons, etc can be elders. The dragons have believed that the traits of the elders will pass onto the next heir. The wisdom and strength of the elders were said to pass onto the next heir and for generations they kept it that way. Anyone else was grown to be a general or some other high position of power.
Gaiax was such an heir. His bloodline came from Terrador himself but he was only cousin to the future heir. Gaiax was to become a general. Such heirs are to be taught all required lessons in the realm and such extra things like military expertise. The elders have known Gaiax to be a gifted dragon, he learned to fly and use his earth powers at an early age. He was to do great things.

Part 2

None of the teachers really saw this greatness in him. He was an average student in all of his classes, only failing in military. Onyx decided to take matters to the elders. Onyx is Gaiax's teacher in the art of military, the earth elder, and has grown disappointed in him, He was gonna have the rest of the elders force Gaiax into a frontline soldier.
Onyx talked with the rest of the elders. "What bothers you Onyx"? Asked Lumorous. "I bring matters of a student of mine, Gaiax." Said Onyx. "Gaiax"? Asked Lumorus. "You've heard of him"? Asked Onyx. "He's a very talented dragon. He's got the power to crush mountains and the wisdom to win any battle. He's kindof hard to miss" Said Jordan. "I've heard the stories. But I fail to see this gift of his." Said Onyx. "He will prove to be a valueable asset in the war" said Lumorus. "What makes you so sure there will even be a war? We are at peace with the other species" said Onyx. "Have you heard of Violet"? Asked Lumorus. "I am familar with the new purple dragon." Said Onyx. "No purple dragon has been born for no reason. Malefor became the dark master and Spyro defeated Malefor. Its been generations past the incident and we never had a purple dragon." Said Lumorus. Onyx thought about this then remembered what he was talking about. "But what does this have to do with Gaiax? He's an idiot in class and loses all capability when under pressure. He's not as valueable as you say he is." Said Onyx. "He was born with that. But if he can learn to get past it he will accomplish great things." Said Lumorus. "Well he's not getting past it anytime soon! The only value he will have is on the field of battle and thats it!" Shouted Onyx. Who couldn't hear that?

Part 3

Gaiax was outside at the moment and heard that remark. He has always dreamed of being an elder instead of this military genius he is thought to be. But to be a common soldier? That is practically a disgrace to heirs.

Lumorus sighed. "Onyx, He could be a great elder" Said Lumorus. "Impossible! The wisdom of Terrador wasn't passed to his parents. His bloodline is weak!" Said Onyx. Gaiax sat out in the hall crying. The earth elder doesn't have faith in him. "yet here we stand" She said. "Ever since these new elements and dragons created mix breeds we needed more elders. I didn't like the idea of new elders in the first place but it was decided on and I can't change anything about it." Said Onyx. "Its a flawed system. If we continue this, it can cause inbreeding." Said Lumorus. "And you propose we leave it to the public? Only heirs have loyalty in them" Said Onyx. "I suggest that only those who have proven themselves to be loyal and capable to be elders. This Gaiax would be a better elder then you anyway." Said Jordon. The anger in the room was rising and other elders started to speak. "Do you forget what Onyx has done for this kingdom?" said Sky the electricity elder. "He doesn't even have a child"! Said Jordon. Everything past that was inaudible to all the commotion in there. But Gaiax has heard enough, His rolemodel was the only voice he had to hear.

Gaiax wanted to leave. He had his dream crushed. He can't even use his abilities anymore. When he was a kid there was not a care in the world, and everyone saw this talent of his. But with the pressure he's under now he wasn't able to show his gift anymore. All his hope was lost.
Gaiax then ran away. Its been awhile since he saw his parents. They have always managed to relax and comfort him when he was younger, maybe he's just homesick. Last he heard, His parents were settling down at Warfang. He had to see his parents again.

Part 4

"Honey! I can't find Gaiax anywhere"! shouted Gaiax's mother, Ruby. "You haven't seen him either"? Asked his father, Avaland. They both started to panic only to realize they only hear snoring. They looked around the room realizing he was on a support beam above them. "GAIAX!" They both shouted. Gaiax opened his eyes and hovered down below. "Thank the ancestors!" said Avaland. "Our son can fly already? None of the others dragons his age can glide, nevertheless fly!" said Ruby. Gaiax let out a yawn. His parents set him down and let him sleep.

Gaiax eventually stood in front of the very city he was looking for, Warfang. There was some ruckus around the city. The gates were closed. He followed along the wall to see a small raid going on. These strange serphant creatures were trying to get into Warfang. A snake noticed the dragon and one word goes through the minds of these things. Food. It charged at him and Gaiax barely dodged as it lunged at him. The serphant got up and looked back at Gaiax. The fear and pressure was going to his head, he couldn't fight it. The serphant lunged at him again. Gaiax closed his eyes in fear. He heard a thud, a cry of agony, then a shout. "Get over here!" Said a dragon. "Whats going on"? Asked Gaiax. The dragon grabbed Gaiax and flew back over the walls.
"What were you doing out there"? Asked the dragon. "I came here looking for my parents." Said Gaiax. "Your to young to venture anywhere outside these walls alone." Said the dragon. The dragon must not know where Gaiax comes from. "I'm from the temple. I was sent away years ago to learn to be a general." Said Gaiax. The dragon started to realize who this was. The green scales, the orange wings and horns... and his backpack. "Your their kid aren't you... Your Gaiax..." Said the dragon. "Its me... Flare" Said Flare. "You've saved me before."

Part 5

Ruby and Avaland were outside the walls of Warfang. Gaiax was flying around freely having the time of his life. A dragon as young as him is amazing that he can fly, but to be an earth dragon yet soar through the air at such an early age? Flare was just a teenager at the time. He was on a nearby mountain mastering his element and combat skills. Gaiax flew by Flare, curious of what he was doing. "What? Can you go away?" Asked Flare. "Twaining"? Said Gaiax. "Oh so you speak already, yes I'm training." Said Flare. Flare continued to hit the rock in front of him. Gaiax stared at the rock, noticing how the rock was wedged into the mountain. Gaiax landed on the ground as Flare attacked the rock again. The rock crumbled and the support it was giving this side of the mountain was gone. An avalanch has started. Gaiax cowered and created a little dome like shield with the earth around him.

"Your parents then dug us out of the rubble. I made you that backpack as a thank you gift. At least today I managed to really make it up to you." Said Flare. "Does that mean you want the backpack back? Gaiax asked. Flare laughed. "Nah, you can keep it, I won't even have any use of it anyway." Said Flare. "Thats nice. So can you take me to my parents"? Asked Gaiax. The smile on Flare's face then went away. "Unfortunatly... no." Said Flare.

Part 6

The news was grim. Ruby and Avaland... Died. They were outside the city getting some food, then the serphants attacked the city. They grabbed at them before they could fly away... The rest was too gruesome.
Gaiax sat down and started to cry. "The earth elder loses his faith in me, my home is under attack, and my parents are dead." Said Gaiax. Flare stared at him... Realizing what Gaiax must be going through. "You could of been a great elder I bet..." Said Flare. "So what! I could be better then Terrador himself and I still couldn't be able to become an elder! I'm not the a son of the elder! And even if I was I can't even think straight or use my powers." Said Gaiax. Flare was curious. "Did you lose your magic?" He asked. "They say I still have them. But apparently under stress I can't use my so called gifts" Said Gaiax. "I've heard of that. Its a rare thing to happen to some dragons." Said Flare. "You know what it is?" Asked Gaiax. "Its a disorder in some dragons. When under stress they can't use their element. I also know somebody who goes through this and can help you." Said Flare. Hope rose in Gaiax, somebody who believes in him and is willing to help him out.

Part 7

Gaiax followed Flare through Warfang. The city was very busy from what he could remember. He was sent to the temple before he was at that stage he could remember stuff easier, before this became a problem. There were people trading all sorts of goods. Crystals, gems, food, new technology, etc.
Flare took a turn into an alley. "This just a shortcut right?" Gaiax asked. Flare turned his head to look at him. "He is part of a special team of soldiers. When the purple dragon is sent to Warfang for whatever reason it'll have to, it will come to us." Said Flare. Gaiax figured that Flare was part of this.
They came across a door with ancient statues around it. "These are the tunnels of Warfang. You have to stay by me or you'll get lost." Said Flare. Gaiax followed Flare through the tunnels, making sure not to get to far behind. There seemed to be some commotion on the surface but they just ignored it. Flare made it to his destination and walked into a small corridor. Inside was a room with other dragons. Everyone stared at Gaiax and Flare, wondering why Flare brought some dragon they don't know.
Flare walked up to one of the more mature dragons. It was a little older then Flare. "Why do you bring this kid in here"? asked the dragon. "He needs to be tutored. This is Gaiax." Said Flare. Everyone gasped. "Who here doesn't know about me"? Asked Gaiax, getting ticked that everyone seems to know about his gifts. "He's like you Glacian, He wants to learn to control his element again." Said Flare. Glacian thought about this carefully. "I will teach him to get pass this... But I need to know I can trust him." said Glacian. Gaiax wondered what he had to do. "Come here Gaiax." Said Glacian. Gaiax slowly walked over as Glacian lowered himself to almost eye level. "You know of this place. This group... You'll have to join our rebellion." Said Glacian. Gaiax stepped back. "Rebellion? Against what?" Asked Gaiax. "This city won't last. Xenon's forces will break through and we will be the last hope." Glacian told Gaiax. "Xenon? Wait you won't teach me unless I join some conspiracy theory of yours!" Said Gaiax. "It's not a conspiracy. It's the future." Said Glacian. Another dragon walked to them. She had black scales but everything was just colorful about her, the pinkish hair, the orange shirt, the yellow ring around her neck. She somehow reminded Gaiax of one of the elders "We met a dragon who could tell the future. She said that this city will fall, no matter how she sees it." She said. "Oh I'm sorry. Whats your name"? Gaiax rudely asked. "May"? said May. "Ok then May, Glacian, Flare. I want to use my elements again when situation demands it." said Gaiax, then raising his tone. "But I'm not gonna join, just cause some girl went up to you and said something she got from an herbal tea cup!" Shouted Gaiax. Gaiax started to storm off until they heard another commotion from the surface.
