Spyro wondered across the short cut grass glumfully. He then looked up into the bright sky and slowly turned his head down with a frown. Sparx flutter behind his lifeless tail from side to side. He creased his eyebrows and made his smile into a frown. Spyro turned his head and sighed. Sparx looked down on him as if he was depending on him. Sparx then perked up and playfully flutter his wings rapidly.
"I'm not in the mood Sparx..." He mutter underneath his breath. Sparx lost his smile once more. Spyro began to wander again. His wings were drooped down like a wilting flower. Sparx swooped in front of him and shrugged his wings slow and then rapidly flew back behind him. Spyro just ignored him and glared into the grass. He then lifted his head up to see Flame passing by. Flame had a great big smile on his face. He rushed towards Spyro bursting to tell his exicting news.

"Guess what!" Cried Flame with joy. Spyro dizzed his head up and glazed at him. Sparx fluttered from side to side with a giddy smile on his face. Flame's tail swooshed from side to side.
"Tomas is going to hold a contest to see who the best dragon is!" Annouced Flame. Sparx took a glance at Spyro. Spyro looked at Spax too.
"I'm not to sure if I wanna enter it this year," Grumbled Spyro. Spyro had never had the time to enter Tomas's contest since he's busy saving the world most of his time.
"I need a holiday," He then added. Flame shrugged.
"The dragon shores is been set up for the contest. Tomas and friends are still setting it up right now, no one else is allowed in until when the contest starts tomorrow, methinks," Explained Flame. Spyro sighed. Sparx smiled with joy.
"Who is it whos entering then," Sighed Spyro. Flame ignored Spyro's gloom.
"Ember, myself, Yin, Yang, Nestor, oh and Nanny,"
Spyro stood himself up tall and mutter brave words to himself. Sparx flew around him. They were a bunch of dragons all hunched up by the portal. They were all chatting in boredom of waiting for the portal open for the contest to open. Spyro was shocked not to see Ember near him at all. Instead, Ember was talking to some of her friends. Flame was admiring Ember's necklace. While Nanny was commenting on dragons 'divine' looks. Spyro began to feel tense. Suddenly Nanny came towards him.
"Splendid and divine looks darling," She commented. Before Spyro could reply she had alreadly began to comment on Yin's scales. Spyro suddenly looked up at the portal as everyone began to be quiet. Spyro had been forced by Flame to enter this years, he didnt get his chance to deny it. Tomas moved out of the portal. He had a great smile on his face.
"The portal is open! Please all contestants enter the portal!" He annouced with his booming voice. Flame, Ember, Yin, Yang, Nanny, Nestor and Spyro himself along with Sparx entered the portal. The beach was crowded with ice cream stands and hot dog stands with also small fayreground games up for display. They was a huge strage in front. Spyro and the dragon were lured into behind the curtains. They waited with tense for their turn. The crowd had arrived. A loud number of cheered spread out across the land.
"Ember!" Annouced Tomas load. Ember bravely swooped out from the curtains. She pounced from side to side and breathed out a number of wind element to the sky. She quickly rushed off the stage. The crowd clapped wild.
"Spyro! Did you love it? Did I look pretty?" Asked Ember with a smile on her face. Thet both turned.
"The fiery Flame!" Boomed Tomas. Flame leaped up onto stage and breathed a large ammount of fire.
The crowd cheered and clapped.
"Encore!" Yelled one dragon. Flame quickly leaped back and ignored the encore screams. It was Nanny's turn now. Nanny put her pinks arm beside her hips and humed.
"The pretty Nanny!" The voice boomed once more. Nanny unearthed from the back and did a small dance with her hands. Many clapped gratefully. Tomas slowly guided her off the stage. Yin and Yang smiled and jumped around playfully. They were working together as a duo.
"Now our Daring duo! Fearsome Yin and frightning Yang!" Called out Tomas. Yin and Yan cheered along with the crowd. They bounched up and down giddy. They rushed out onto the stage and fluttered around breathing small breathes of fire.
"Fantastic!"
"Real born stars!"
"How cute!"
The cooing crowd called out. The duo trotted back behind the curtain. Nestor peeked through the curtain.
"Nestor!"
Nestor walked out. He breathed a large breath of fire and then rushed back into the curtain. The crowd clapped. Now it was Spyro's big moment. They was a drum roll and...
"Now everyones favourite double daring pair duo, Spyro the dragon himself and Sparx!" Called out Tomas. Spyro began to blush. He was too shy to go out, he hadn't even praticed. The crowd stopped cheering.
"Spyro," Whispered Nestor. Flame wacked Spyro onto the stage.
"Ow!" He yelled. The crowd whispered, some at the back also left. Sparx followed him onto the stage.
"What was that for?" Spyro then added. He shouted it to Flame.
Flame glared at him. Spyro muttered.
More of the crowd left. Tomas clapped his hands.
"Well that was Spyro err... A very... Creative...show?" Tomas said. All the crowd had left now. Spyro and Sparx's show had been a total disaster.
That was yesterday, Spyro was even more glum than he was before. Flame didn't look too happy too. He trodded across the grass to Spyro. Spyro glared at him. Flame glared back.
"This totally means war," Muttered Spyro. Flame snarled.
"Right," He replyed. Flame scampered over towards Ember. She was picking at a bright flower.
"He loves me, he loves me not... Oh Flame!" Cried Ember blushing. She quickly wafted the flower away.
"Ember! Spyro is just can't take it that he lost!" Annouced Flame. Ember looked on him.
"Spyro would never do that!" Cried Ember. Flame sighed.
"He gets all the respect since he killed Gnasty Gnorc, Ripto, Red and the lot. It's not fair," Muttered Flame. Ember looked confused.
"Since when? I never knew he got rid of that many foes!"
"He's killed more than that,"
"Really? I have to see him now!"
Ember rushed over to Spyro. Flame sniggered. His plan didn't go to plan, but something certainly worked.
"Ahh!" Spyro yelled.
"Give me a kissy!" She cried. Spyro began to charge away. Sparx came after him. Ember glided towards him. Spyro yelped and gargled. His breath had gone but he was still running.
