Aurora Is My Fan Dragon That Looks Like This:

Chapter One:
Saphire was snuggled on the floor of her cottage, infront of a warm and homey fire, admiring her egg. The refelction of the fire danced in her icy blue eyes. Her egg was close to hatching. Saphire rose gently from the floor and stretched, she then stepped over to her egg and licked its blue speckly shell and checked for any cracks or dents in it. Once certain of its safety, Saphire regained position in her place infront of the fire.
It was an intensley cold night in the Valley of Avalar, through the window the trees of the nearby forest could be seen franticly shaking in the gusty weather. Saphires mate Tylong was out in the horrific weather, scouring the valley for something to feed the pair and possibly the new born if it hatched. The Valley wasn't normally this cold of an evening though, usually a search for an evening meal would consist of gliding on small, uplifiting drafts of warm evening air not a battle against an icy, cold gust. Tylong had been out for hours now and Saphire was growing worried, she rose gently and hopped over to the window and peered out of the hole, she squinted to stop the freezing cold air catching her eyes and looked around franticly hoping to see her other half. There was no sign of him. " It never takes him this long to find us something to eat". Saphire said to herself as she got down from the window and began pacing the cottage. "Thats it!" she said, covering the egg with an old matted piece of cloth and placing it safetly near the fire. " I am going to find him." Saphire charged for the door, just as she was about to open it, the door swung open, just missing her. She then turned to find Tylong in a heap against the wall. " I am home love." He muttered in a mufled voice as he untangled himeself from the mess he was in.
"Nice entry Tylong." Saphire chuckled sarcasticly. "What to you so long anyway? I was begining to get worried about you." Saphire asked curiously wondering where Tylong had been.
"The Valley was so windy, I had to squint to see anything Im sorry I had you worried." Tylong apologized. " Although on the brighter side, I managed to snatch up some fish from the stream." He reassured his hungry partner who had started once again licking the speckled shell of her egg.

Chapter two:
Tylong and Jayde devoured their meal together and with a bloated belly both settled calmly on the rug infront of the fire. Jayde wrapped her longs green tail around her egg and scanned it carefully checking for any damge to the shell. Once certain the egg was in good shape, she yawned and rested her head on the floor.
"It's fine Jayde stop worrying! It'll hatch soon. Don't over excite yourself or anything!" Tylong said trying to reassure the soon to be mother dragon.
"What if something goes wrong, I'll be devestated. I'll blame myself." Jayde said shakily.
"Stop thinking about it going wrong, think about how good of a mother you'll be!" Tylong said once again trying to be reassuring.
"Okay, i'm taking your word for this though...I hope I will be a good mother." Jayde began to shut her eyes. Her own words echoed in her head and rung in her ears.
"Will I be a good mother." She though to herself hoping she wouldn't fail at such an important role in life.
Tylong watched his partner stur and roll in her sleep. She was worried about something. Tylong got up slowly and walked over the egg that was nestled amongst a blanket on the floor. He sat down by it. "Will I be a good father." He started, unsure of his fatherly charecteristics. "I mean, its all good me reassuring Jayde and all but...I don't know if I am even cut out for this job myself. Well my child wont be going without so I'm just going to have to man up and give this little hatchling all they wish for...yeah all they..." Tylong was stopped in mid sentence by a noise. A noise he feared. A noise he had anticipated. CRACK! he looked over at the egg wrapped in the blanket. The egg was hatching.
"Jayde wake up, it's happening, the egg...it's hatching." Tylong shook his wife in an attempt to wake her. Her head shot up at great speed and she rushed over to the egg, Tylong slowly waddling behind her. She grasped the egg and took it from the blanket, she then laid it gently on the floor. The cracks continued. Every crack made the couple more and more tense. With one final CRACK! The top half of the egg broke and a little head stuck out of it. Jayde removed the remenence of the shell to reveal a small blue dragon. It looked up at Tylong and Jayde. Their hearts melted for the hatchlings beautiful green eyes gazed up sweetly at them and shimmered in the light like stars in the midnight sky.
"She's a girl, the most gorgeous one I've ever seen. We're her parents and we'll make sure to do a good job of it." Jayde said as she picked up the newborn and rested her head on Tylong's shoulder.
"Yeah, we are." Tylong said unsurley, looking deep into the babies eyes.
"Aurora." Jayde stated.
"What?!" Tylong wondered.
"That's what we'll call her...Aurora." Jayde smiled sweetly and nuzzled her daughter...this was something new.

Chapter three:
"Aurora...settle down. You'll hurt yourself" Cried Jayde, trying to calm 2 year old Aurora. "You really are a handful at times darling." Jayde said with a sigh of relief as her daughter calmed herself and layed down next to her. Jayde then rested her head on Aurora's gently.
Two long and extremley draining years had passed since the birth of Aurora. She was a very curious, playful and adventurous young dragon this was sweet and heart warming however it kept Jayde and Tylong on their feet for all the wrong reasons. For example she would accidentley break things out of curiosity or sometimes when 'adventuring' she would come face to face with a 100 ft drop. She was hard work but she had parents that loved her, that was all that mattered... Surley.
"Jayde, may I have a word with you please." Tylong asked Jayde politely.
"ok wait five minutes please dear I am just going to...." Jayde said abruptly' stopping in mid sentence as her partner jumped in and said...
" This can't wait any longer Jayde... It just can't" Tylong interupted urgentley wishing Jayde would listen. Doing as she was asked with a hint of uncertainty, Jayde rose placing her sleeping daughter on the rug infront of the crackling log fire and wandered slowly over to Tylong with her head lowered. She knew what was coming, she just didn't want it to...not now anyway.
"you are aware that Aurora must know the truth are you not?" Tylong said wisley.
"I can't do it...it'll hurt to much and what effect will it have on Aurora?!" Jayde asked worried of her daughters welfare.
"it's for the best atleast we'll be here to support her we have to telll her...we have to tell her the truth...who her true parents are." Tylong announced happy with his decision. The pair wandered over to their sleeping daughter.
