It starts as Fire for Spyro and Poison for Cynder, right? Well, it looks like mine is stuck as those. I've used nothing but Electricity for Spyro and Shadow for Cynder in a new game of mine, and I've only used Fire and Poison when there's no way out of it, as in to get rid of vines.

It took me nearly five days of play in my previous game to change 'Poison' to 'Shadow', and I actually had used Poison breath a few times in combat in that game. It's almost like Fire and Poison have a 'use time' already programmed into the game when you start playing it, so you've got to use another breath for ages before you can get the new 'favourite element use time' to overtake the old one.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Yeah, it happens to me sometimes, i usually use fire for spyro and fear for cynder, i never stop using them unless i get stuck. But it sticks to Ice and Poison on mine for some reason, but it seems to have fixed itself now

Maybe it's a fault in the game. Who knows?

Ice? I think I've only used ice for about one minute in all of my DOTD games put together.

Ice has to be one of my least fave elements, but it can be quite usefull at times

Yeah... ice and wind are the elements I never use. I like Poison, but I don't use it a lot because I'm always trying to get Shadow to be my favourite element instead.

fire has to be my fave from spyro elements, it always has as its easy and powerfull to use

I do like fear, I have to say. It's a great idea!

Yeah, I love fire. It's very strong! I'm always comet dashing everywhere. I like electricity quite a lot at the moment, though. Earth is pretty neat, but I preferred it in the previous games. I like the R1 attack, though! It's very powerful!

yesh xD there are things i liked about the previous games better than DOTD, but there are things i liked better in DOTD, like Cynder elements for instance and Fear was pretty cool, the sound it made was awesome

Fear sounds great! I think the sound of fire breath is really good, too. And on that electricity sphere.

i was ok but it took me ages to achange my favorite element from fear to shadow... i like fire so i didnt notice but i didnt have a problem with poisin...

elementa the dragon with every single dragon power is my god. i like fear fire, ice and earth ball! not the earth ball! its gonna crush me too *splat*

I wonder what it is that stops it from changing half the time.

That's odd... I didn't have that problem at all. I had to use flame early on to get past vines, but I was able to switch Cynder to shadow right away...at which point I played as her with only that breath unless I had to use Spyro or another breath type to solve a puzzle/fight an elite enemy.

What system are you playing on? I have the PS2 version.
