I haven't played DOTD, but I've heard that was said in the game.

I think the idea of Malefor being the first purple dragon is kind of dissapointing and a bit of a creative block. It would be a lot more interesting if there were more purple dragons before Malefor, possibly even an opening for a new spin-off game or fanfic.

It kind of provided difficulties for me in the idea of creating a fanfic about a purple dragon before Malefor's time. I do have my own AU, but to many fantards would be nagging at me for "breaking the canon."

So what do you think? Did this idea of only one purple dragon before Spyro shoot you in the butt somehow?

Well in DOTD Malefor did say that there were many other purple dragons before him and Spyro, so not really.

I just think it would be more interesting if there were others before Malefor. I mean, there are to many fanfics about "the next purple dragon." I'd like to see one about the last purple dragon.
