Cliches? [CLOSED]

So, how many blatant cliches are in this game? I know there were a few in A New Beginning, and i don't know about this game. I don't gave it yet.

I can draw a cliche' from the title. 'Eternal Night' is really common in a lot of things. It's been in a lot of games, and even in a song. ("The world is black, like an eternal night") And even 'The Night of Eternal Darkness' came from a different game altogether! I'm not sure Krome knows about it, though.
What game?
Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem on the Gamecube. The 'Night of Eternal Darkness' in that is when one of the Ancients is summoned when the planets are aligned blah blah.

So. Anybody else found any cliche's? Though, to be honest, a Spyro game without a cliche' is barely a Spyro game.

well, i think that the whole cynder turning good and spyro falling for her is a cliche, though i don't mind they make a very cute couple

Yeah, I feel the same way. But the chessiness of it makes it cute, i think.

Also, the fact that the hero [Spyro] turns evil at one point, and someone of importance to him has to save him from it. That's a BIG cliché.

Oh gosh, this whole series is so clogged with cliches. But that's part of why I love it so; all the cliches make me laugh. smilie

The elder Guardians are a cliche by their very existence. So is the Chronicler (he and Ignitus, especially Iggy, are the series' Obi Wan).

Spyro himself is a cliche (because the epic hero is officially a cliche in modern times; thanks George Lucas). Cynder as well; she's our maiden/princess/Darth Vader. smilie

Sparx punching the parrot...cliche! But funny. The cowardly sidekick usually has at least one brave moment.

Both Cynder and Sparx take on the cliche role of being the hero's buddy (and love interest, in Cynder's case). Cynder being seemingly conflicted about her dual nature...

I could just go on and on. smilie

You're fighting a loosing battle, Zephyr. It's not your decision to make about Cynder and Spyro, the creative teams at both Krome and Amaze have already cleared this up. Stop spamming.

I don't really notice cliches in a game, but I guess that's what makes it so great. The only game I do notice cliches is The Simpsons Game, but that's because the game points them out for you.

Enemies. Bosses. Final bosses. A storyline.

For beating the game, fun activities you unlock. And following on from that, the game can be replayed with an extra ability.

Abilities. Supernatural stuff. Levels. Menus. A level-up screen. Being a videogame. The camera following a certain character around.

Way more.

For me it's overall concept first, followed by careful story inspection enevitably followed by extensive cliche' list. That goes for just about anything I play/read/watch or write. But just 'cause I see them doesn't mean I care about them. Cliche's rock, how else can you form a coherent story.

Very true, how could one make an interesting game without the most overused cliche of all, how could it be intersting if nothing went wrong to be set right (at least from the perspective of the side you are playing on)?

If cliche is handled properly, it can be awesome. That's why I don't dislike the LoS games. They're riddled with epic cliches, but they're still unique in their own way and it's fun to see where things are going.
