I don't own the game, but I might wait until the DS version is cheap because the last game, A New Beginning, was (in my opinion) the best on DS.
What do you think? I think the DS version looks best, but thats just me.

I think PS2 because I like the graphics, the story lines, the action, and music, but the only thing I hate about it is that this game is way too short. (my opinion).

It is really Short and I play the PS2 one and the graphics are awsome. So, I agree with Dragongyrl1000!

I can't play the handheld versions, so my opinion probably doesn't count. I really like the console version, though.
Also, you stopped playing ANB on the console too early. The story really picks up and, from what I've seen of the script from the GBA version, it's much more well-executed in the console version. |

The PS2 and Wii are the same... except for controls... awkward that you'd put the GBA between them. <.<

Exactly, American Wii gamers have to wait until next Tuesday.
(sucks to be a British Wii gamer to be; if I'm lucky I might get mine by Wednesday, but whether I do or don't I still have to wait as the Wii version won't come out until around mid-December. Geez... >.>) |

the only problum with the DS or GBA games is they cut out some of the good stuff so the consol versions are better

Handheld versions of games don't take nearly as long to make as console games. It's quite possible things weren't completely ironed out all the way for the console game by the time the DS/GBA versions of the game were finished. This happens a lot I noticed with games out for all systems. Not just Spyro. TMNT was like that and many movie games on handheld systems. That's probably why some of the story elements don't always line up in the handheld games. However, still fun to play.

spyro_lover17,
Actually.... the GBA version has 6 boss encounters the other games don't have. Yes, it doesn't have some things the console does, but it has other things too that the console games don't. I can't beat the second DS boss so far so can't really comment on that. |

Technically, there are only three major bosses and, I think, about four to six minibosses. But the console version makes up for that by making you fight massive hordes of nearly endless enemies. o.O

There were several points like that in ANB, too. The two most annoying were Dante's Freezer before the Ice King... and in front of the entrance to Concurrent Skies.

Just stay close to the wall. His attacks won't reach you for some strange reason, and you can just go and hit him when he stops attacking. When he starts using his breath, you may want to repeatedly press Y, to escape from the explosions. |

To explain my rating:
The game for the PS2 has 'traditional' Spyro control, all of his console games ever before (StD, RR, YoTD, EtD, AHT and AN could be played via a PlayStation controller so since that's the sort of 'traditional' Spyro control that is first. Next, there are 6 new enemies, a practice room, some new characters and some extremely pretty hand-painted graphics on the GBA version. It has some exclusive content that makes it very unique to the other versions. The Wii version as stated in interviews is 100% identical to the PS2 version except with some Wii controls. Not only that but the developers said the Wii specific controls aren't even anything fancy in an interview, so it won't feel very new like it could, I mean imagine using the controller like a paper airplane when Spyro is flying, but they said it will just be basic Wii control so I'm not too excited about that. Plus the Wii has some features that could of enhanced the game. WiiConnect24 is a 24-hour system where developers could drop new things into the game, maybe new levels or characters or concept art...like a patch on a PC. TEN for Wii isn't out but if such a feature was going to be included I can guarantee the developers would have mentioned it to hype the game so I highly doubt anything of the sort was included. Some really neat features to make the Wii version unique are being left out so I say made the GBA game higher in rank as their is initiative to buy the game since it's unique. The mobile version has some very pretty visuals. It pushes its platform forward. Unlike the DS version it has some strong visuals and responsive controls, leaving the DS version seem bland in appearance and not very responsive over the glitches. That is why the mobile ranks higher. The DS version is more like an Insomniac game but it is glitch, no surprise as the team for glitch ridden Shadow Legacy did this game as well. They made a beautiful GBA Spyro but their DS Spyro games are crap. Can't they learn from their mistakes? While the DS game is more of a platformer the glitches leave it ranked last. |

Another thing about the Wii version. Apparently TEN on Wii will have slighly better textual enhancements than PS2 since it has extra memory in it.

Yes, Classic Controllers work, not the Gamecube controllers though, just remember on menu screens, b is your accept button and a is your cancel/back button.
b is for jumping. a is for attacking. |

I got used to the Wiimote and Nunchuk combo easily when getting through Crash of the Titans. I'm sure the controls won't be THAT tacked on for The Eternal Night though; the only thing that IS "tacking" me off though is this ridiculous wait for the Wii version out here in these PAL territories... bah!
