Chapter 1
Malefor's threat
"How are you Spyro?" Cynder cooed.
"Fine, fine. Why'da ask?" Spyro sighed impatiently.
"It's just you weren't here yesterday and it worried me a little, I so wanted to see you," Cynder whispered.
"Oh, worried me a little, yes, I so wanted to see you even though you shout in my face and I can see that you don't want me," Sparx muttered in a high, squeaky mocking voice of Cynder.
"Cynder..." Spyro said.
"Yes?" Cynder said, looking at her with her large lamp-like eyes. She blinked her long, sooty black lashes.
"Shut up," Spyro hissed spitefully, then he stalked down the corridor.
Sparx rushed after him, grinning and glittering like a sparkly lanturn.
"You told her dude!" Sparx said smirking, then winking his beige eye.
Spyro shot off down the hall. He looked a lot different from what he had been a few months ago. His snout was pinched and his eyes thin as needles, his scales seemed shadowy, his wings taning dark too. His mood had changed, being angry at Cynder, though he wasn't really in love with her anyway, there was another girl, Synie. He was being snappy towards Sparx and the frail old elders. They didn't know why he was like this, Spyro didn't either, though her should.
Spyro had been involved with yet another fight with Malefor, who had asked Spyro to join his forces. Spyro objected in utter angry astonishment saying he'd sooner be force-fed Cruxing Poison than join him. To Spyro's amazement, Malefor just nodded and smirked.
"We'll see," he said slyly, then dissapeared.
And ever since, Spyro had been changing, getting angry with everyone.
Except Synie.
He'd been growing closer and closer to Synie until he realised how he felt for her.
Spyro glided over the ledge of the temple and into the forest, peering through the turquoise leaves up at the moon-lit sky. Silver beams darted through each flapping leaf and shrouded him with a pearly white light.
Suddenly, calling through the bitter air, an oh-so-familiar voice hissed.
"Spyro?"
Then suddenly, Malefor was in front of him, smirking in an evil way.
"Malefo-"
Malefor lunged at Spyro, covering his mouth with his clawed hands and grasping him tightly round the neck. He grinned an icy smile.
"How you settling into your new...changes?" he hissed.
Spyro glared.
"It's you! You're the one doing this to me!" Spyro shouted, but his words were muffled by Malefor's hand.
"Give the guy a prize!" he said sarcastically. Then he narrowed his eyes, still smiling. "So then, have you decided to join me yet. You'll find me very patient, Spyro, if you don't join me soon then, well, I'll take you're anger to.....another level, should we say."
"What do you mean?" Spyro asked hoarsly. "You mean, you'd hurt them!?"
"You'd hurt them, actually. Anyway, I see you've been getting attached to that Synie, have you not. Young love, perchance?"
Spyro felt the skin underneath his scales flush carnation pink.
"Well, I've been monotoring you two, all you're actions..."
Spyro whisked from pink to crimson.
"I gather you're pretty close by now, are you not?"
Spyro swallowed, then Malefor loosed the clasp on Spyro's throat and let him collapse to the floor.
"Well, obviously," Spyro muttered. "Look I'm sure you're here to discuss more than my love life!"
"Quite. Well. If you won't join me now...then maybe you will later...meanwhile I suggest you keep close watch over your girlfriend, as I'm watching her..."
Then he vanished.

Chapter 2
Synie
Spyro stared at where Malefor had stood, his eye twitching. He felt two paws grab his shoulders, Spyro gave a shriek.
"Hey, hey! Shut up you noodle! It's only me!" said a femenine voice behind him.
Synie stood behind Spyro, he turned round and admired her. She had deep, sapphire scales and long, marble-white horns. Her eyes were big and bright emerald green, so was were the flaps of skin between her long, thin, wing-bones. Her limbs were slender and her claws pearly white.
"Oh, Synie..." Spyro whispered.
"Give over staring at me," Synie hissed. "You creep, quit it!"
"Oh I can't help it you're so cute," Spyro said jokily.
"GIVE OVER!" Synie shouted, narrowing her eyes. Spyro chortled.
Synie meant it. She was pretty and funny but very scared and screwed up underneath. Spyro was only playing, staring at her big-eyed and open-mouthed.
"Stop it, stop it!" Synie screamed, and she slapped Spyro on the shoulder, then gasped and clapped her paw to her mouth.
Spyro was stunned, then looked at the ground quickly.
"I'm-I'm so sorry!" Synie said, suddenly wrapping her arms round his neck, tears suddenly rolling down her cheeks. "It's just that...something...You know, I just..."
Spyro didn't react, his arms dangling by his side.
"Please Spyro..." Synie whispered. She pressed her snout to his cheek.
Spyro then blinked, and wrapped his arms round her, they stayed freeze framed, like true, forever-lovers instead of two simple teenagers having a little crush.
Someone cackled. Spyro's head jerked so quickly his neck clicked.
"Spyro, baby," Synie whispered. "Look, I gotta go home now, I'll see you tomorrow." She kissed his cheek then flew away.
Another laugh glided through the forest on the emerald sheen leaves. A message hissed between it.
"If you don't join me then you will hurt her..."
