Hehe, I forgot my password... [CLOSED]

Um, I've been waiting for an e-mail to reset my password for an hour or so now and I was wondering if it's coming. I know, I'm an idiot to forget it but I'm usually logged in here. Is this feature still working? (I'm sure I gave my e-mail originally because I think it's been reset once already).

I dunno, try again maybe? It seems to be working fine that I can see. Perhaps it's gone into a spam folder.

Ok, I've tried again. Let's see what happens now. Maybe I put in my e-mail address wrong?

The problem seems to be that Hotmail are completely ignoring the email and I've currently no idea how to get around that.

I doubt it'll get through and your password will have been reset to gibberish so remembering won't help now.

If you happen to have an email that isn't Hotmail then I can switch it in your account so you can use that to reset the password.

Or, if you'd prefer, I could check the backups and restore your password to a non-gibberish version that you at least have a chance of remembering.

Sounds good. Wait, well, losing the password bad, but good for sorting it out.

Why am I speaking as if I'm RWD?

Um, I've been trying to set up a new password but yahoo keeps dumping me out (what on earth is going on with them?). Tiscali isn't coming up right now (this moment in time) either, and I don't know how to work the services either.

How would restoring the password to something else work? Because there's no PM service and the e-mail thing is out of the question. Would you have to post it here?

Well I went ahead and changed your password back to what it was in the backups so if you manage to remember what it was then you can log back in again.

Ah okay... but is it the set version (randomised) or an old one that I used?

I can answer that one for dark, I think.

If it's set, dark will probably e-mail it to you. If it's an old one, dark'll tell you here that an old pass has been set, and you can try them again.

That's why with on websites, you should usually use the same password as anything else, so you only need to check one.

Ok, ok, Ross. I get it. I've been changing them all to my e-mail account password so that I'll remember them all...

I had like 50K and a ton of avvies and everything!! but neo was like YOU NEED TO UPDATE YOUR p-word, and i forgot to write it down.
