About the controls... (Wii version) [CLOSED]

I will be frank. I love the Wii and its new controls.

But what I like is when the motion sensor controls are used when they should be.

For exemple, using the Wiimote to aim in Metroid Prime 3 feels natural and actually enhance the gameplay. The new free-look control mixed to the returning lock-on allow to beat up baddies, shooting at specific weak spots with no need to constantly switch the lock-on to other targets.

On another hand, there are games like Bust-A-Move Bash where the control was switched to motion control for some ill reason with no opportunity of using classic controls when you should.

In short, I hate random, useless motion sensor controls that are there to justify the remote and doesn't help you and even hinder you.

... and well, I have read previews and I'm getting worried that they might have made the huge mistake of indeed, putting in random Wiimote controls and not allowing you to use "classic", push-button controls.

So, I'm wondering...

Is there stupid, out-of-place motion sensor controls? If so, do the game allow you to use the Gamecube/Classic controller if you don't feel like using the Wiimote?

Where I live, I happen to see a GC controller which can connect to the wii.

Ya because you can play gamecube games on the Wii but you can't use the gamecube controler for the Wii games

1up.com had a preview that went into some of the motion controls, and I'll copy it here for use again if you want to refer to it.

"Eternal Night's gameplay uses a mix of button presses and motion controls. Most of the frequently used actions, like your base and elemental attacks, are mapped to the button presses (though you can wave the Wii Remote left and right to execute base attacks as well), but knockups and tailspins activate when you pull the Wii Remote up or down while in the air, respectively. You start each elemental Fury move (a special area of effect attack that you'll only be able to use about two times a level due to its build-up meter) by pulling up on both the Wii Remote and Nunchuk."

HAHAHAHAHAHA! OBJECTION Blunder! ^.^

Anyway...

I'm not quite a fan of the knock up thing... just because my Wii doesn't always respond to motions used on the controller. Say I was on my last bit of health and was one hit away from defeating a boss... and out of breath energy. I tried to melee him, but my the system didn't register the movement. The boss attacks me and I die and have to start over. >.>

That's why the base attack (the melee as it would be said) has a button assigned to it as well as a motion sensory movement. If you have issues with the motion sensors, there's always the standard button mapping.

@ Rexy: OK thanks.

HIR: Yeah I agree cuz I saw on one of the gameplay videos that it says 'to do a fury raise the Wiimote and nunchuk at the same time' and you must do them at the same rate, y'know. On mine, if you don't, it will just take one or the other.

Spyro: Eternal Night on Wii supports the Classic Controller, so if you want to play the entire game that way, you can.

Well, it being compatible with the classic controller is excellent, in my opinion.

Well, thank you everyone for the information... and by the way, those "Objection" mini-flash movies are extremely funny!

Do you have info on said button?

That hasn't been mentioned, though we do know that C is for your breath and Z is for your elemental attacks.

That would leave 1 or 2... because minus is Dragon Time, A will probably be jump... and plus will probably be pause. T_T

No, plus cycles through your breaths. I thought minus would do the same but in reverse, so where did you find out that that was the button for Dragon Time?

The button controls for the Wiimote and Nunchuk are as follows:

A: Jump
B: Melee
+: Cycle breaths
-: SlowTime
Z: Elemental Melee
C: Breath
1: Pause
2: Level up

There are motions to knock enemies up in the air, make Spyro charge, perform his tail strike move. There is also an optional motion for Melee, as previously mentioned.
