The main problem with DotD is that we all got over excited. We invented ideas that would never happen, despite being fun to talk about. We got over excited about the new HD graphics and co-op and free flight, imagining those things would be far better than they turned out to be. And as I'm sure you all know, when you invent Ideas about a game/movie/book before it is released you are doomed to be dissappointed. So next time, stay clam and DON'T GET SO WORKED UP!

Eh, the best way not to overly-hype is to not have any expectations... that way, you don't know what to expect! ^.^b

Ever since DotD's downfall, I don't get excited over upcoming games anymore.
Now, there are only two ways that you can get me overly-hyped about a game...but unfortunately, that ain't happening until those games are actually MADE...

Since when did they have a downfall? DotD was some cool **** and I haven't even PLAYED it. I don't think I'm ever gonna be able to.
That's why I followed the TLoS YouTube walthrough from the start of ANB to the end of DOtD. (I don't cheat the series and spoil it for myself. )

How can you say it is col if you never played it? It might look cool but you don't know how it really is. Why can't you play it?

i have it and its cool,the only downside is the level burned lands,impossible to complete it without dying unless you have cheats

It's better not to speak for everyone, I liked DOTD, it's added alot of new elements that are enjoyable.

followed Dragorius and DreadArkives walkthrough at the start of ANB to the end of DoTD on every single video IN ORDER.

...You've never played it, therefore never experienced the gameplay first hand. And for us not so hard-DotD-fanboys/girls, most of us expect more. But the younger members always say things just like you did, stuff along the lines of "OMG SPYRO IS THE BEST EVER HE CAN NEVER DO ANY WRONG!!!!"

Co-op was the only good feature of this game. :/

Have YOU played any TLoS game before?
(I'm not even gonna ask about the originals since, by a guess, over 80% of the darkSpyro pop. has played them and I believe you are one of those 80%, if it makes you feel better I have played the old ones too.)

^ DOTD may look COMPLEATLY AMASING, if you watch the trailers and look at the screenshots and stuff. They make it look so epic and cool in the trailers, but when you play the game, you would feel disapointed..... Well, young people wouldn't.....

I became a die-hard Spyro fan, somehow from borrowing Crash Team Racing from a friend and the same after, for Spyro 1, 2, and 3.
Then she told me about the new ones I had only heard of.

I went and looked for myself later on and was "amased". (as you spelt)

At first, I liked DotD and played it almost everyday after it was released to the public. However, I realized the many mistakes and plotholes EL made in order to make DotD epic for us Spyro fans. When they announce the next Spyro game, let's not get over excited, and think about what the changes might affect, like the story or the art style.

Anyways, if we saw what kind of Spyro game is going to be made, then we gotta know if the change of game developers and game style will affect the story and such.

Since Sierra Entertainment ruined DotD, I hope Activision doesn't mess up the next Spyro game with their ideas like Sierra did, and they should leave the ideas to Mike Graham for the game.

I say they should consult Insomniac for the next game!

Think about it. Is Spyro really awesome? It's also called losing interest, and after DotD, I thought about the other games, and besides ANB and TEN, I really don't like Spyro. I simply got the games because I was a stupid kid.

Lawlz yeah, but not about any specific game just the concept of another REAL Spyro game like the originals. Though if a game like that were released I would be a little sceptical and critical.

I think that the makers of DOTD did a great job, they just have to spend more time making it. Make it longer, harder and less glitchy.

No. Check Six and Equinoxe did that before with ETD to reach a holiday release date and look what happened to that!

We shouldn't dwell over what could have been, we should be thankful for what we have. As for plotholes, they are rather enjoyable, they allow you to draw up your own conclusions instead of keeping you confined in the reality of the plot.

I love Plotholes. Keeps you thinking and intrigued after the game and are curious to buy the next.

Heh. The hype was the problem with the entire LoS trilogy. Okay, ONE of the (many) problems.

I remember being more excited about TEN, actually, and feeling generally fulfilled by it when it came out. I was pretty excited for DotD, but I didn't expect much out of it. Alas, they really screwed up by being infinitely worse than my lowest expectations.

They hype didn't help, but DotD would have been a letdown any way you look at it. Even if few people had paid attention to it, it still would have turned out as crappy as it was.

Meh I was excited at first....but....well its sorta like Razz said......thats what I thought......Sierra....if you want to try a spyro game....DON'T TRY TO MAKE IT LIKE A MOVIE.....

I just hope Activision is the right game company for Spyro, unlike Sierra.

Alas, Aura24, Activision is what appears to be a large part of why DotD sucked. Forget not that they bought Sierra far enough in advance of the game's release to have their names stamped all over the atrocity.

What kind of games does Activision usually make?

Guitar Hero, and Activision keeps making more Guitar Hero games two or more times a year.

Maybe none of the other companies want to make a Spyro game, or they just don't remember the first Spyro game.
