This is kinda complicated to explain, but I think that chain binding spyro and cynder together had something to do with cynder's saying "I love you" at the end of the game. Somehow. It's almost like it was put there for that purpose. Even though it wasn't. Like I said, this is hard to explain. But do you understand?

I think so. Like a symbol of thier bond like Ignitus said. It was really put there so Malefor could kill them both at once, then he removed it. Why did he do that?

Because he had them both in the same room together anyway and thought that he could get them to fight eachother but then when he realised he couldn't he put it back on and then faught them himself...

And when Cynder was freed from Malefor's control by Spyro to be by his side, Malefor binded them together again with the green chain so he can kill them both.
