when Spyro meets the Chronicler,he saus that Malefor learned fire,which is starnge cause hes not a fire dragon.wat type of dragon was Malefor???

*facepalm* A purple Dragon!!!! Spyro said it, the Chronciler said it, Ignitus said it he even said it himself... And, unless I'm colour blind, he looks purple to me...

The purple Dragon has the 4 elements... So he's not a particular element... Hes the purple Dragon...

EDIT:HA!!!i found something!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QbdptafZNQat the part where The Chronicler explains Malefor's origins,it say,"First he mastered fire,whcih is strange,since he is not a fire dragon.Then came wind and ice,and other abilities others thought impossible."So wat type of element did smilie have before mastering them all?

He was born a purple Dragon... There not like a fire Dragon and then learn all of them... He has no choice to learn them or not... They just come naturaly...

You just answered your own question. Malefor mastered fire first.

Here, I'll break it down for you.

Malefor was born a purple dragon. At the time, no one knew what that meant and no one could figure out what element his coloring and behavior represented. When he mastered fire first, it surprised them because he didn't look or act like a fire dragon. When he went on to master other elements, he showed himself to be something completely new.
