If the producers of DOTD had to make fear something other than the Piercing Siren Scream, what would you suggest? Cause trust me, there's a lot more.

Um, maybe a ball of energy Cynder spits, or a feirce glare? Or she could conjure a terrifying image or use telepathy to make the enemy haluscinate(sp?).

I kinda like the Glare bit on that one. And the Halusigen.

I was also thinking of sharpness, Like a blade so sharp it continues beyond the base.

Lets consider where the idea for Cynder to have fear comes from.

The producers told us where the idea for fear came from before the game came out: a series of books called Dragonlance. In it, all dragons generate an aura of fear that causes enemies to be so afraid that they can do nothing but stand there in terror.

Does this give any ideas?

Maybe Confusion? She can shot out waves and swirls of Confusion!

I think that Fear makes the enemies frozen with fear, they can die of fear, or have a heart attack. That is what Fear does to the enemies.

Yeah, she would scream at the enemy/tuning fork and send soundwaves flying at it. It would also make a loud bat-like screaming noise in the DotD version.

People here are familiar with Medusa arn't they?

Well to fill ya in. Medusa is the lady with snake hair. And a face that is supposedly so scary that looking into her eyes would turn you to stone, Thus Petrification.

You know the medusa one would fit, why didn't they think of something like that it would be cool to see.

Sorry if this goes off topic. But in Loonatics Unleashed. Dr. Dare crossed a shield with an image of Medusa and created a lazer that could turn people to rock.

Back to subject. I think It might be tough to use as an attack, What would the visual effects look like?

Did you know Cynder's fear element was inspired by the phenomenon "Dragon Fear" used by evil dragons in the series Dragonlance? The drago9ns stared at their enemy and the enemy became so gripped by fear that they could not move.

on the medusa score she could case them in stone so they're stuck and you can do combos better while they're stuck, kind of like ice on ANB

I would have liked it where Cynder face is focused on and her eyes turn blood red then she turns into her big evil form and kicks butt while the foes are paralyzed with fear

I have my own theories for fear, being serious, I don't think it would hurt them in such a way like the other breaths.

I reckon it would be the type of breath to search for the victim's weakness...so it might hurt them, stun them, make them halucinate, forget, petrify them, it all depends on the creature as an indavidual.

I have theories for Fear Dragons too, but I'm not going to explain all that now.

I imagine fear breath would work in a similar way to The Scarecrow's fear gas in Batman Begins... it makes you see what you fear the most. And that's what weakens you. It doesn't physically hurt you, but it makes it easier for other people to.

But if I had to choose something other than a scream (and I do like the scream idea) then maybe a stream of energy that looks a bit like black electricity. Maybe it could trap them in an energy cage of some sort.

What about a very dark, nearly pitch black dungeon, that has red eyes and monsters with sharp fangs.
