Spyro lunged at Cynder, but her long, glossy, red and black wings beat the air and she soared through the sky, breathing a stream of scarlet flame. He pounced and caught hold of her piercing tail. Cynder whirled her tail about, shaking Spyro vigerously, but he clung on. Suddenly, spinning her tail too violently, Spyro hit her and stabbed his claws into Cynder's wicked eyes.
She howled in pain, there was no way she could fight now, there was only one thing she could do.
"You'll pay for that!" she hissed. "I told you! No mercy this time!"
She swivled round, galloped on her slender legs and ran right into the Elapsed Worlds.
Spyro tried to pull away, but he couldn't. She pulled him through the bizzare, brightly-coloured portal and they landed there.
Cynder watched the seven moons hanging luminously in the navy blue sky, blood trickling down from her eye. Spyro tried to edge his weary body back to the portal, but he found it difficult to even crawl a few centimeters away from the deep purple-red rock he was scrunched up on. He managed to right himself, though his head flopped and body ached, his claws stabbed into the rock. He stood on his shaky feet, but then Cynder pounced on him brutally and pinned him down to the rock with her hard paws.
He was trapped.
