I don't know how anyone could prefer the new 'Spyro' (I use that name loosely) over the real Spyro. In the LOS games he's such a one-dimensional boring excuse for a hero with less personality than a brick wall.
The whole point of him was that he was the opposite of what you'd expect a dragon to be like. He couldn't fly, he was small, clumsy and friendly, but now they've turned him into a generic dragon character. Sucks.

I wish they'd cut this LOS bs but it's a never-ending nightmare.....

I agree with you but I think what Jackson117 meant was that the Legend of Spyro is about what happened before the Original series. That would've been believable after A New Beginning but thanks to TEN and DOTD it's an improbable theory.

They contradict themselves twice and further contradict their old theory.

I like the old, original Insomniac Spyro games. TLOS is over-rated.

TLOS is VERY overrated and very crappy. The original's were beautiful for the time, and very fun and great games to play.

-Discovery of Childhood obesity
-Corrupt Game Companies
-Lousy Cartoons
-Columbine
-Growth of Internet Porn

-The End of Classic Cartoon Animation in favor of CGI
-Boy bands
-Y2K

Compare it to the 80s despite it's cheezy music:

-Regan Administration
-Nintendo saving the Game industry
-Metal Music
-Good Cartoons
-Well Done Animated films
-The Rise of the Synthesizers
-Some actual Decent Hollywood films
-The growth of MTV and VH1 (back when it was actually about music)

I was born at the near end of that decade (1989), in which then I had the crappiest childhood ever thanks to the 90s. =( I should have been born in 1979...

TLoS are VERY good games. But I like the originals as much as TLoS

Like I said Tango, those with THEY CHANGED IT NOW IT SUCKS attitude never stop; and it's not only Spyro either: Sonic, Starfox, Pokemon, Smash Bros., and Mario also fall into this Trope. It's really pathetic if you ask me, because if this is how they act about a video game, then what about the workplace? If a company has to merge with another due to specific reasons, would they be willing to accept the change?

About the 90's They had a handful of good cartoons. Where would I be Tiny Toon Adventures, And Animaniacs. But it is sad that traditional animation is over. Back when it took talent, not computers.

But they wouldn't be anywhere without Looney Tunes, and Merrie Melodies. Sorry for a rant.

But there is nothing wrong with liking somthing out of date. Just how blown out of proportion are they going to make it for the present?

I like the classics too. But todays junk will be classic in 20 years too.

Actually technically 30 years; could you imagine people considering Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers as oldies? I can only imagine when somebody calls me ancient because I played 8 bit games and can remember dial up being top of the line... It's almost scary the more I think of it.

Heck, I'm gonna hit 20 this year... and I already feel older than that. D: It seems like 5 minutes ago I was playing duck hunt as a 2 year old...

Yeah, I agree (in fact, that's one of the main reasons I dislike TLoS), but some people like the more developed story, I guess.

I also think people need to give it a rest with the Youtube Spyro haters. People, they want your attention. You're giving it to them. Plus it's sort of useless to defend a fictional character....

I'm sure they'll bring out the other characters to fit the LoS universe, if they continue it.

I wouldn't mind just a little change if they didn't make it the exact opposite of the fun, bright, cheerful video game atmosphere we all grew up with. :/

Yeah, that's where I see differences emerge at:

For me, being that I grew up with the NES/SNES/Genesis eras more, I sort of developed a different take on how games should be. Me, I prefer either something that offers an intense, problem solving challenge (games like Tetris, Sim City), or something that has a decent story that makes it feel like I just didn't waste some 30 hours of my life playing. Also, I was exposed to more violent/realistic games when I was younger, like Tomb Raider and 007 Goldeneye, so my take is completely different.

That's the main reason why I don't really see a whole lot of reason to complain about the changes (heck, I was there for the 2D game play to 3D game play swap, with by the time when the first Spyro was on the shelf, I was most likely about to finish third grade and go into fourth grade, so it really wasn't impacting my childhood much, if we consider a certain monster catching game was around at this time... not that I really liked that thanks to the cartoon and all that other gunk it was buried under).

Yeah, and Spyro is still a 3D action adventure character... he's just acting and doing more draconic things now in a world that's not a mix of sugar bowl, decade dissonance, and dream land.

I still think that LOS is better than the Orginal Spyro.
