The Tale of Avenir: Liar [CLOSED]

This is the story of Avenir (French for future) raised by Voleur, the dragon attempting to find out his past, and who his parents are.

For those of you who haven’t read my current fanfic The Legend of Aoren: before Genocide don’t read this, for those that have…

Avenir is, obviously, the son of Aoren and Shali, but he doesn’t know this. But anyone who read the last fanfic probably recognized the name of Voleur, so I just stated the obvious!

Well heres the begining of chapter one

“This is stupid Voleur! Stealing from a damn palace!? When we get caught, I swear, I’ll say that I’m a kidnap victim and don’t know you at all.” Avenir whispered ferociously at his father. Voleur stared at him for a moment, his deep green eyes boring deep into him “Sorry, but you’re not that good of a liar.” The old green dragon’s whisper was so low Avenir had to strain to hear it, but by the time he had began to muster a retort, Voleur had already walked away and it was clear that the conversation was over. Moments passed silently, and Avenir was becoming uneasy; he didn’t like how the large palace was so quiet and empty. “Whoa! Hide!” Voleur whispered, jumping back “Wait… don’t. Damn it all, it’s just a mirror, thought I saw some guards.” He reconciled.
Avenir looked down the hallway Voleur was talking about, seeing a large mirror devoid from any decoration. He stared quickly at his reflection, Black scales, grey wings and eyes; not even remotely like Voleur. “Voleur, I’ve been meaning to ask, how come we look so different? It’s quite unusual.” He asked. “That’s a conversation for when we get back.” Was the only reply he got.
The rest of the raid went uneventfully, and they gained absolutely nothing, it turned out it was abandoned. That morning, however, was going to change Avenir’s life forever.

“My life… Is a lie!” Avenir was enraged, how dare Voleur, how dare he say that he was abandoned, that his parents didn’t want him. “A lie it is, but a good one! And no, you’re wrong, I believe your mother cared for you quite a lot, but she was off to war! What else was she going to do? Head off with that black dragon and you in tow and then murder Oen? And then drag you back to that damned castle were they originated? Hell, you should be thankful you’re still alive!” Voleur appeared outraged “And then what, she dumps me with you! And to think I was stupid enough to oblige, how unthankful you’d be!” The older dragon glared at him, this was no rant. “It’s time for me to leave.” It was all the response Avenir could muster “And I swear I’ll find out who my parents really are, and prove you wrong.” He didn’t know what he was saying; he just knew what he was planning. “Goodbye.” He took flight before the stunned Voleur could figure out what he had done. “This is my crusade, my quest… Mother! Father! I swear I’ll find out just who you are!”

Avenir yawned widely “Now it’s time to start, first things first, were can I go to get a lead?” He thought back to all the towns he raided with Voleur and a tear came to his eye “No time for reminiscing…” he said to himself sadly “Ruenon’s probably my best bet, but Thorne is better located, and the dark mountains are likely to have all the information worthy to gather… But there’s also Gundam, Herio and the temple…” his thoughts wandered around possible plans “It’s settled, I’ll travel to Ruenon, then Herio, next the temple, Gundam, Thorne and finally the dark mountains…” his stomach growled loudly “But finding some food could be useful as well…” The next three days went badly, as without Voleur he often got lost, but eventually he found it, Ruenon. He looked forward to the feast that he would soon be devouring, and he quickened his pace until he found a sign stating Welcome to the remnants of Ruenon, Praise be the hero’s that caused Oen’s demise, Cale, Awren, Shali and their leader Aoren! “I never did understand what was so important about them…”

will no-one read this fanfic? and post....

dang...

“So you have no idea who your parents are?”
“No.”
“And you expect me too?”
“I hoped…”
“Uh-huh, goodbye.”
The last four conversations he had with the villagers were like this, one said he looked like the towns savior, Aoren, but he ignored this. There is no connection between me or any of them. He thought glumly Although I wish I shared blood with dragons who are apparently so noble, its far more likely that I’m the spawn of some common peasant. “Aoren? Aoren is that you?” The voice started him out of his reverie “Sorry, no my name is Avenir.” He replied after a short pause, staring at the green dragon now in front of him, who had a large scar across his chest. “Oh… sorry ‘bout that, it’s just you look so much like my friend Aoren… Oh, I’m Awren by the way.” The older dragon looked at him kindly, and he saw a spark of recognition fly through his eyes “You wouldn’t happen to know a thief by the name of Voleur, would you?” again, this dragon’s question startled him “I know no-one of such a name.” He replied defiantly “In fact I’m a bit busy looking for my parents, if you know them, would you kindly tell me? If you don’t I must be going.” He eyed the older dragon for a moment, waiting for a response “Well, alright then, I’m off.” Awren answered tiredly “I say you’ve inherited your mother’s stubbornness, lets just hope you inherited something from your father as well.” He said this quickly as he took off “You know who my parents are!? Tell me!” but Awren was already gone.

“This is screwed up in every way. So recount. I got to the First town and found someone who supposedly knows who my parents are. That means they must be reasonably well known or they live around this area. I got mistaken for this Aoren person twice, and the guy that supposedly knows my parents says his name is Awren, one of Aoren’s comrades. This doesn’t really mean anything though… ok and Voleur said that my parents killed Oen, which Aoren and his comrades did, so does this mean that… No. That’s inconclusive, Voleur was a liar.” He repeated this same argument with himself, multiple times, until the stares of the townspeople started to bother him “Got something to say!?” he yelled at a red female dragon with pale, green eyes that stared at him for too long “As you wish…” she murmured, still staring at him as she backed away. “I’m beginning to think the people of this town know more than their letting on…” the town was looming in on him “I am the one who chose my path, I am to blame for my paranoia…” he whimpered, feeling as if he was being watched. “Time to leave.” He bolted into the sky before the words left his lips, he was gone.
The forest, the spacious, lonely forest. This was where Avenir ended up. “Damn it Awren!” the voice from below him came so suddenly that he nearly fell out of the sky “You spoke to him!? Hell! If she finds out she’ll wring your neck for sure! All ‘Oh I thought he was Aoren!’ Bullcrap! And I suppose you went off and clued him in, did you?” A looming silence followed “And I suppose that it wasn’t her stalking him? Oh and by the way, he can hear every word we’re saying.” The silence following was profound, the two conversationalist’s were gone.
