The skies above were dark and gloomy; there was the sign of sun in the sky. All the light in the world seemed to be disappearing and everyone was in fear. It could only mean one thing...

"The Rise of Darkness." Terrador confirmed. He looked out to the now darkened lands with fear. Thunder boomed at that second, which sent shivers up his spine.

'But...how?" Cyril questioned, walking up to stand beside the earth dragon on the ledge. The scales of the dragons were darkened in color, which was the first thing that would affect a dragon.

"It's not how...it's who." Volteer chipped in. A headache was forming in Terrador's head, it boomed like thunder.

"No one could have done this." Terrador replied, "It was bond to come sooner or later."

"And what can we do?" Cyril asked.

"We are too weak, too old. We wouldn't stand a chance against the evil that is about to rise." The Earth dragon spoke softly.

And that was when a huge crackling boom broke out and the old volcano spat it's lava up. Black smoke rose in the sky and a large outline of a dragon could be seen. It rose up with its massive wings; it's eyes clamped shut. Lava dripped off its black wings, and then it opened its eyes. They were black, pure black without a single shine in them. It looked as if it had no eyes from a distance.

The large black dragon screeched and then blew bright green fire into the sky in an example of its terrifying powers. Thunder roared at that very moment, adding on to the affect.

"No..." Volteer said.

"So soon." Cyril added.

"We have to hold it off." Terrador said. All of the guardians agreed and flew off to fight the beast, knowing that they probably didn't have a chance.

The beastly dragon stood up on the volcano, watching the Guardians approach it but that was not interesting to him. The black dragon snarled loudly at the old dragons and then blew green fire straight at them. The yellow one’s wings started to light up with fire. However, the blue one put out the fire but not without much struggle. Well, after all Green Fire was hottest of them all.

Terrador watched the black dragon just watch them with its terrifying eyes, it wasn’t very interested in them and that was the problem. The earth dragon flew up and rolled up into an earth ball, like what he did with the Golem a very long time ago. Terrador dove down, picking up speed as he went but at that moment, the giant black dragon grabbed the Earth Guardian with its large foot. Terrador thought he heard the creature sigh as it threw the earth dragon down into the dark shadows below. He hit his head on a rock and got knocked out by it.

Ice wasn’t even hurting the beast and Cyril couldn’t get close enough to its eyes to blind it. It was odd; it was like the creature just absorbed the attacks like a sponge and he had no doubt the large dragon could use it against him. He dodged the talons of the beast easily and that was why Cyril had a feeling it was just playing around with them. Volteer sent a huge bolt of electricity towards the beast’s eyes and it hit the beast’s eyes easily. But it had no affect.

Cyril was now close enough to get one of its eyes, so he sent a shard of ice that had a lot of power in it. It hi the beast’s eye and it covered it. The creature screeched again but louder and angrier. Cyril’s ears rang loudly until he couldn’t hear at all. Cyril pulled back and headed for the city hastily, he had to get help.

Volteer pulled back along with Cyril. They couldn’t fight it, they were too old and they didn’t really know much about it. The worst was that more evil was surely going to rise in the next days, stronger evil then the world has ever seen.

"The Valley of Avalar...it's burning!” Someone yelled.
Green flames reached up into the dark and starless sky blocking out the moons. Flames were consuming everything around, everyone was yelling.

It was chaos, pure chaos.

Spyro looked for an opening in the flames; he didn’t have time to care about the large beast flying above him. Towering green flames surrounded Cynder and Spyro; they didn’t have much of an opening to fly safely away and not much time.

“We have to get out now!” Cynder yelled over the sound of burning. Spyro only nodded, and then they got ready to fly. He closed his eyes and took off the ground, knowing Cynder was following not too fair behind.

He opened his eyes to all the flames; it was like nothing he had ever seen before.

Spyro could just feel the darkness and then the unexpected happened, it was all so quick.

A black tail whipped the two young dragons out of the sky; they slammed into the ground with extreme force. Everything was a blur from then, he could see two yellow eyes and a body come towards him and then he could only see green flames.

Spyro faded into unconsciousness.

The purple dragon opened his eyes to a silt, the sound of a river boomed into his ears. He raised his head and yawned, it must’ve been a wild nightmare. But later he noticed it was no dream at all.

There was a large pond in front of him; it sparkled in the sun ever so beautifully. There was Cynder laying on a rock at the other side of the pond, talking too…

Oh no…

A black dragon that had black smoke surrounding her.
