Day of Darkness

PROLOGUE
3 dragons flew out of the ruins of Warfang attacking the Gremlins that constantly attacked the Dragon City. “When is this going to end!?” Yelled a blue dragon named Cyril.
The Gremlins threw out fireballs at the dragons. The Gremlins were small creatures who lived at Twilight Falls, quite far from Warfang. The dragons were puzzled on how they managed to come here. Have of the city was destroyed due to the world almost being destroyed by the Destroyer and Malefor-The Dark Master.

A purple dragon with a yellow tipped tail and yellow horns and a yellow crest lay down on the ground, near a black dragon with white horns and white-tipped wings. The purple got up first. Ahead he saw another purple dragon!
Spyro, the purple dragon shook his head, and blinked a few times, but the purple dragon was still lying there, it looked the same age as Spyro.
"Malefor?"

CHAPTER 1: Story of Malefor
A silver dragon looked at the books that he had found on secret bookshelves.
"Interesting.."
He looked at a picture, with three dragons and a dragonfly.
He recognised Spyro, Cynder and Sparx the dragonfly, but not the other dragon.
Malefor
But how could he have survived? How was it possible...

Malefor was the first purple dragon ever to be born. He was the first ever dragon to master Fire, Ice, Earth & Electricity with ease. A few years later, Wind, Poison, Fear & Shadow was Malefor's next abilities. The 4 dragon guardians got worried about Malefor. Malefor deeply loved his mother, who was killed by a rogue dragon guardian deep in the Ancient Grove. Outraged he challenged the Guardians. The Guardians refused to launch an attack on the Ancient Grove to hunt down the rogue. Malefor was captured by long forgotten creatures who took him to Convexity. Their leader, Talaro taught Malefor the ways of evil, and he and their army hunted down and brutally killed the rogue dragon Guardian. Malefor killed Talaro and gaining the rank of leader. He went back to the Dragon Temple, where the 4 Guardians attempted to destroy Malefor, Malefor killed 3 of the Guardians and was banished for life back to Convexity.
The army Malefor commanded was weak, and so using the power of the Dragon Crystals transformed the creatures into the Apes and was taught how to artificially harness the powers of Fire, Ice, Earth & Electricity. He trained & developed them at the Mountain of Malefor in the Mountain Fortress. He was then known as the Dark Master. He was trapped in a Pit of Despair, now known as the Well of Souls. He was sealed in a prison inside Convexity, the years went by and Malefor had died.
Many years after, an Ape Commander named Gaul took control over the army and lead a raid on the Dragon Temple on the Year of the Dragon. They K.O'd 3 of the new Guardians: Volteer, Cyril & Terrador but Ignitus Guardian of Fire had already taken the purple dragon egg. They smashed all the eggs and found the one they were looking for. They took it back to Mt. Malefor. The dragon in here was the only dragon to free the Dark Master. The egg hatched and the little dragon was exposed to the Dark Master's evil dark magic in the Well of Souls. Cynder got corrupted and poisoned. She grew to size and strength quickly and hunted down the 4 Guardians. Except for the elusive Ignitus. She kept Volteer on Dante's Freezer, and leaving legions of Apes and the Ice King to protect him. Cynder drew Volteer's power into a purple crystal and took it to Convexity. She returned, only to find the Apes gone, and the Ice King dead, and Volteer gone.
Same thing happened to Cyril on Tall Planes. The Stone Sentinal was gone and the Atlawas lived happily. Finally on Munitions Forge was she able to see her competitor, a small purple dragon. She chased after Spyro only to be forced into an airiel fight with Ignitus. She captured him and took him to her Lair. Spyro again found her and Cynder fought Spyro. She defeated him and took the purple crystal. She activated the portal to Convexity and flew through it. In Convexity she successfully freed the Dark Master but he also had to be resurrected. Spyro then forced Cynder into a final battle. Cynder was defeated and returned to her normal size, the same age as Spyro.

Gaul was furious. He used the Night of Eternal Darkness to resssurect the Dark Master. He captured Cynder and offered for he to re-join them, but she refused and so Cynder would meet a painful slow death by the Dark Master's hand. Later on, his Mountain Fotress was raided by a small Purple Dragon names Spyro. Gaul orderd Cynder to kill Spyro, but she attacked him instead. Gaul and Spyro fought, and when the 2 Celestial Monns were eclipsed, Spyro was consumed by the Well of Souls, unleashing Malefor's power within him. Dark Spyro killed Gaul, but then he, Cynder & Sparx were trapped inside the collapsing Fotress...

Gaul had revived Malefor, and so Malefor was free. He wrecked havoc across the world and finally coming to rest at his Lair, the Dragon Temple, now consumed by evil. Sad, and Angry thoughts were here, giving him more hatred for the world. He revived the Destroyer and used it to create the Belt of Fire to destroy the world once and for all. His long expected' guests' had arrived, Spyro & Cynder. They fight. Malefor was eternal, but the spirits of the 1st Guardians appeared and disintegrated Malefor. The world was breaking apart but Spyro put it all back together.

Despite all that, Malefor was still alive...........................

CHAPTER 2: REVENGE OF THE LAVA GOLEM
Malefor opened his dark-red eyes and saw Spyro.
“Hur? Where am I?” He groaned.
“I don’t know” Spyro replied.
“Where…who are you?” Malefor asked.
“My name is Spyro, and you must be Malefor.” Spyro said.
“Yes, but, you’re a purple dragon too, why? Aren’t purple dragons born generations apart?”
“Yes, but you were the first purple dragon ever born….”
Spyro told Malefor the whole story.
“So, I’m evil?” asked Malefor“
No, well, not anymore” Spyro looked at Cynder, she was still unconscious.
The ground was really hot. They heard hissing and growling underneath. The 2 dragons looked at each other. A massive creature burst out of the ground. It was the Lava Golem.
“Oh no.” Malefor said.
“Malefor, do you know how to fight?” Spyro asked.
Malefor hovered in the air.
“I’ll try”
The 2 dragons flew past the Golem. Spyro flapped his red-yellow sleek wings. He opened his mouth and Ice Shards came out, hitting the Lava Golem in the eye. The Golem screeched in pain. It waved it’s arms crazily trying to hit the two small dragons. The Lava Golem was massive compared to Spyro & Malefor. Spyro remembered 2 Dark Magic Crystals on both sides of the Golem’s mouth. Spyro flew to it’s mouth, avoiding it’s hot lava dripping from its head.

“What are you doing?” Malefor asked.
Spyro swooped and shards of black crystal and purple electricity came from its mouth.
The Lava Golem screeched loud in agony. It put its hand on where the crystal used to be and roared looking at Malefor.
“Great” he muttered. Malefor took to the skies, shooting out Earth Missiles at the Golem. On the ground Cynder was slowly awakening. She got up.
“What? 2 purple dragons?” She said.
She looked at the Lava Golem “Doesn’t this guy ever give up?” She asked. She flapped her large leathery wings and flew up to one of the purple dragons.
“Cynder?” It asked.
“Yes, who are you?” Cynder asked.
“Look Out!” The purple dragon yelled.
Cynder looked and swooped down with the purple dragon as the Lava Golem’s hand almost caught them.
“Um, Malefor” the purple dragon replied and quickly flew away to join Spyro.
“Malefor?”
Spyro, Malefor and Cynder together broke the other crystal. The Lava Golem fell to the ground.
“You missed one” Cynder said and flew down and destroyed the last dark-crystal with a swift tail-strike.
“I did most of the damage.” Malefor mumbled.
The 3 dragons came to rest on the ground.

CHAPTER 3: FLIGHT
“OK, time for a proper introduction” Spyro said looking at Malefor.
“OK, I’m Malefor” Malefor said looking at Cynder.
“Cynder” she snapped
Malefor quickly glanced over at Spyro.
“Ok, and I am Spyro.” Spyro said.
“So now what?” Cynder asked.
“Well first we need to get out of here and find Sparx and the others.
“Sparx?” Malefor asked.
“My brother.” Spyro said, suddenly realizing it.
“So there’s another purple dragon?” Malefor asked.
“No, he’s a dragonfly.” Cynder said.
“Well, how are, you two…”
“We’re strep-brothers” Spyro replied.
“Why didn’t you say so?”
The trio walked and started to soar in the skies.
“So Malefor, what do you last remember?” Spyro asked.
“Well, Spyro & Cynder….

It was war; the Dark Master had led his forces into our world. I was called din the front lines, it didn’t really matter to the Elders how old I was. We fought all over the world. Eventually our forces were depleted. The survivors, including me snuck through the enemy lines, going through Convexity to the Dark Islands, were the Dark Master was. We found him in his lair, alone; he was expecting us. He wiped out everyone, except for me, and used Dark Magic on me. On couldn’t control myself. Then the Dark Master went IN me. It was announced the Dark Master was defeated, and his armies. Convexity and the Dark Islands were sealed. That’s all I remember, but I know I turned evil and try to destroy the world, I couldn’t control it, I am so sorry…”

“It wasn’t your fault, Malefor, it was the Dark Master’s” Spyro said.
“But the Dark Master is you.” Cynder said.
“No, the Dark Master is a large jet-black dragon, an eternal force the creator of all dragons, and the world.” Malefor replied.
“What? So you mean, purple dragons don’t turn evil?” Cynder asked.
“Well, if you control your power, and avoid the Dark Master you should be fine.” Malefor replied.
“Look there.” Spyro said.
Through the clouds they could see an island, not that big.
“I know this place…” Spyro said. They landed on the ground, it felt like magic, no the ground was made from tiny crystals. Spyro looked ahead.
“The Celestial Caves” he gasped.
The trio walked forward.
“At last, you have found yourself here, with a new dragon” a voice said.
“Ignitus” Spyro whispered.
“Ignitus? Is that you?” Spyro asked.
“Ignitus?” Malefor said, puzzled.
“It could really be him!” Cynder said.
A large silver dragon came out of a dark cave.
“The Chronicler?” Spyro asked.
“Well, it is I Ignitus, who has become the NEW Chronicler.” Ignitus said.
Spyro ran towards him.
“Malefor, is it really you?” The Chronicler asked.
“Yes, it is me.” Malefor said.
“Well young dragon you have a lot to learn.” Ignitus said.
Spyro, Cynder & Malefor’s vision became blurry, and then dark.
“What?” Cynder said.
They opened their eyes, to find themselves in a war-zone!!
Cynder screamed and ducked for cover.
“What??? Impossible!” Malefor yelled.
“What?” Spyro asked.
“This, this is the war I was talking about, he sent us back in time!” Malefor yelled.

“Fire!”
Cannons shot out electric orbs at the Dark Master’s Forces.
One of the Dragon Guardians, Firon flew in the sky and shout out fire-balls across the battlefield.
Frozon, the Ice Guardian walked proudly out on the battlefield and stamped his feet, creating ice-shockwaves straight to the enemy. The entire enemy froze.
Terragon, the Earth Guardian swiped his hand, and out of the ground came rocks that smashed the frozen openonents.
“Well that was too easy” Frozon said.
Firon came down.
“Where is Shock?” Firon asked.
A purple dragon came from out of the Temple.
“Ah, Malefor…” Firon said.
Spyro, Cynder and the other Malefor was hiding beneath the rock. Malefor looked at Spyro and Cynder, confused. Malefor got up.
“No, no, Malefor, come ba…” Spyro got cut off
“Too late” Cynder said.
Malefor came up to Firon.
“What is this?” Terragon boomed.
“It’s me, Malefor” Malefor said.
Firon looked at the identical purple dragons.
“Malefor, I’ve got no time to play games.” Firon said.
“I’m not.” One of them said.
“Me neither.”
Spyro and Cynder got up and approached them.
“Another purple dragon? This is madness!!” Frozon shouted
“My name is Spyro, and this is Cynder.” Spyro said
“The Chronicler sent us back in time….”
“The Chronicler? Where?”
The Elders mumbled words to each other which the younger dragons couldn’t here.
Both of the Malefor’s looked at each other angrily.
The Temple all of a sudden boomed. Shock the electric dragon burst out of the door.
A large jet-black dragon appeared.
“Well, well, well? 3 purple dragons, nice…” He said in an angry voice. It sounded more evil than anything, and his eyes were blood-red.
The Dark Master laughed and, Spyro and both of the Malefor’s turned jet-black also, with white glowing eyes.
“Stand Down!!” Terragon said to the Dark Master.
“Hahahahahaha!!! Terragon, do you possibly think you can stop me?” The Dark Master focused his eyes on Terragon. Terragon turned to stone, and then broke to pieces.
“My dragons kill Frozon” the Dark Master boomed.
The 3 dark-dragons attacked Frozon without hesitating.
“No,” Firon murmured.
“Master, stop!” Cynder yelled.
“Well, Cynder, you dare oppose me, after all that I done for you?” the Dark Master asked.
The Dark Master approached Cynder.
“Stop this right now!” She yelled.
“Let me think, what I should do with you….” The Dark Master said.
Cynder turned to stone, and then broke to pieces.
“Cynder!!!” Dark Spyro yelled
Dark Spyro and one of the Dark Malefor’s looked at the Dark Master laughing. He flew away. The dark dragons turned back to their original color.
“No…” Spyro said looking at the ground.

“We must leave before he comes back!” Firon yelled.

CHAPTER 5: MALEFOR VS MALEFOR

Spyro and Malefor were outside the Dragon Temple talking.
“How do we get out of here?” Malefor kept asking.
“We’re not going anywhere, we’re going to kill the Dark Master” Spyro said angrily.
“Kill, a word not really used by you, what’s the matter? You would usually say destroy, or defeat,”
“What’s wrong is Cynder is dead because of that dragon!” Spyro yelled.
“You forgot Terragon” Malefor said.
“Whatever! I am going to find the Dark Master with, or without you.” Spyro said.
“You’re going to go with him?” A voice came.
Another Malefor appeared out of the Temple.
“OK, who’s who?” Spyro asked.
“Wait; hold on, I am the Malefor that has been with you the whole time!” One of them said.
“NO, I was!!!” The other one shouted.
“You slime!” The other one said.
“You called me, as slime?”
“YES! A SLIME!”
“Guys, wait!” Spyro shouted.
“OK, Spyro hold on,”
Both Malefor’s stomped back to the temple.
“Why don’t both of you come with me?” Spyro asked

The 2 identicle Malefor's looked at eachother.
"You'll never win!" One of them said.
"Whatever... I don't remember this happening before, but oh well...." the other said.
"Out of Darkness the come crawling, never leaving our soul, NEVER! Be afraid, very afraid...."
"What?" Malefor asked.
Both the Malefor's charged.
They rammed into each other.
Malefor swung his head and hit the other Malefor with his horns.
The injured Malefor got up and let out Convexity Poison Fire. The other one blocked it with Convexity Shield.

Spyro walked into the Temple looking at the statues. The was statues of all sorts of dragons, he came across 2 in purticular.
They had writing below them:
Slyro:
First jet-black dragon in the history of dragon-kind,
son of Firagon and Krita, killed by Slyro's malice.

Scarlett:
Slyro's best friend, but killed by Slyro himself, along with her mother, Blizzara. Forever remembered.

"Slyro?" Spyro said.
"And Scarlett?" The seeing of Scarlett made him remeber Cynder even more.

Malefor opened his mouth and Convexity Shadow Earth came out, pummeling the other Malefor over. Malefor got up and swung his tail at the other Malefor.
Malefor doged it and scratched the other dragon along his right arm. Followed by a Fire Blast. The other Malefor lay down on the ground groaning in pain.
"Malefor, we have to go!" Spyro said.
"See ya' some other time" Malefor said to the other injured dragon, and walked to Spyro.
"You ready?" Spyro asked.
"Yes, let's go get that Dark Master." Malefor said.
"Maybe we can get Cynder back." Spyro said.
Malefor looked at him.
"Yeah, I hope we do."


CHAPTER 6: 2 OLD NEMESIS
Spyro & Malefor flew across the lifeless desert.
"Can we take a break, we've been fly for ages!" Malefor complained.
"No, we're going to get the Dark Master." Spyro replied.
They heard an evil laugh and halted. Out of a purple portal a large black dragon came with gleaming red eyes.
"Slyro...." Spyro whispered.
The Dark Master looked at Spyro.
"You remember...." He said.
He shook his head and from the desert sand a big cloud formed.
Then a figure appeared, an ugly figure. He had 2 swords, and a staff on his back. With one eye as a green ruby.
"Gaul?" Spyro asked.

"Hahahaha! Cynder...." Gaul said in a deep voice.
Spyro kept looking at Gaul and the Dark Master.
Gaul got his staff and shot it at a rock.
The rock broke apart and large dragon, bigger than Gaul and Spyro appeared, with black scales, not as dark as the Dark Master though and wings with holes in them. It had several white horns and markings on it's head. Finally Spyro realised the silver metal rings on her neck, her legs and one on her tail.
"Cynder....." Spyro whispered.

"Hahahahaha! Good bye, Spyro." The Dark Master went back through the portal.
Spyro flew through the portal aswell.
"Spyro!" Malefor said. But the portal closed. Malefor was left to defeat Gaul & Cynder......

Spyro flew through a vortex of purple rays, with the Dark Master in front of him. “Ha! Spyro, you fool! You dare follow me through the portal?” The Dark Master said evilly.
The portal ended. Spyro flew out and got hit by the Dark Master with his wing. Spyro went straight to the ground.
“For years I’ve waited for this for years, Spyro!” He shouted.
Spyro got up. “What do you want?” Spyro asked.
“I want your power! Only with all the dragons’ power I will be ruler of the world, after all, I am the Creator” The Dark Master replied.
“Your never getting it!” Spyro shouted.
“Where’s Cynder!?” Spyro yelled.
“Oh, so you want to join her then?” He asked.
“I’ll do anything….” Spyro said.
Spyro started to turn to stone….
In the Dark Master’s pure evil eyes, he could see nothing but stone pieces all over the ground.

Malefor weaved and ducked Cynder and Gaul’s attacks. But then got smashed in the face by Cynder’s tail. Gaul then stabbed his staff in the small dragons’ chest. “The Creator will be pleased.” Gaul said in his deep voice. “Yes, but before we presents it to him, we must summon Vale-for.” Cynder replied.
“Malefor’s sister?” Gaul asked.
“No…” Malefor squeaked.
“I never knew he had a sister…” Gaul said.
“He does, she died generations ago.” Cynder said.
The staff still was in Malefor’s chest, it looked as if it was weakening Malefor.
Gaul finally took it out he starred at it with his green eye.
“It is ready.” He muttered.
“Good, now we summon Vale-For” Cynder said.
“And the Day of Darkness.” Gaul said

CHAPTER 7: THE DARK ISLANDS
Spyro awoke. He was somewhere he had never been before. He saw many dragons and other creatures.
“Where am I?” He asked himself.
“Spyro?” He heard a voice. It was a blue-white dragon.
“Hello, what’s your name?” Spyro asked.
“My name is Scarlett.” She replied.
“Scarlett? I saw your statue in the Temple, and what is this place?” Spyro said.
“My statue? I have a statue?” Scarlett asked.
“Yes, and a dragon named Slyro was next to you, you died…by Slyro.” Spyro said.
“Slyro…he didn’t kill me, it was the Dark Master.” Scarlett said.
“The Dark Master? Wait, I’m dead, he killed me!” Spyro said!
“Yes this is the place where all deaths are, all the creatures the Dark Master has killed.” Scarlett said.
“Cynder!” Spyro suddenly remembered.
He ran forward, not exactly sure where he was going. Scarlett followed. “Cynder! Where are you!?” Spyro shouted.
“Spyro stop! She will come soon.” Scarlett said.
Spyro looked at her.
“Is Slyro here?” He asked.
“No…” Scarlett said.
“Where is he then?” Spyro asked.
“Somewhere.” Scarlett said. “Somewhere.”
Spyro walked around. “So, what’s this place called” He asked.
“The Dark Islands
