Reporting Avatars [CLOSED]

...Why don't we have this feature? I mean, it might not be used too much, but I remember that some dilweed made his/her avatar Playboy mascot. I, nor very many others, were happy about that.

Reporting an avatar would just be more convenient than sending dark52 a PM. I mean, I think we could just click onto the user's profile and find some sort of button that says something along the lines of "Report Avatar."

I think that's a good idea. Quite a few avatars I've found were sure...suggestive, to say the least.

I can see people's concerns on this, but I think implementing this rule may take some effort.

As you know, the current report button is used when someone's breaking the forum rules as listed on the rules page. But for pictures, where do you draw the line? Is it fair for a person to get hammered by an easily offended person? In Shrazer's example for instance, I find a pic of the Playboy bunny totally fine. Despite the implications, I think the Playboy bunny symbol is harmless. So there should be a clear line drawn as to what kind of pics should and should not be posted. I mean, I don't even feel safe now with my current avatar if some sensitive politically-correct person tries to ban me because my avatar has the word " damn" in it.

I seriously don't think Damn counts as language here, seeing as it's not blocked.

The fact of the matter is that anyone can report, and from past examples of reported posts, we see moderated messages handed out for the silliest reasons (i.e. cannot rely fully on dark52's judgement on what's a valid complaint).

I quite like your avatar by the looks of things. A real offense would probably be having someone's butt on their avatar.

Or dark could simply decide what he finds okay.

Nope, since 'damn' and 'hell' are in the Bible, I see no reason for them to be AT ALL a "bad word".

Oh god >_< S2008 showed us some of his messages that were removed, and NOTHING was wrong with them.

There was one avatar I saw here that had the f word on it. I used the "Other" for that.

It can varie on what the person calls apropriate . Some people might even consider mine "inapropriate" . I do like the idea though , in case someone has something like porn or illegal photagraphy as their avatar or something similar to that .

Yeah, that's basically what I was trying to say earlier, black dragon. And we need to define boundaries on acceptable pics, because without them, pics would be flagged by people of varying sensitivities.

This is why Adblock exists. All of you people who are sensitive to "suggestive" pictures (*cough*Shrazer*cough*) should get the Adblock feature, then you can block any pictures that upset you. They make Adblock for Internet Explorer, Safari, and Firefox. <.<;

But having an avatar with disturbing images is sort of like spam.
