The Legend Of The Silver Dragon.

Chapter 1
Lost and found

The sky was a darkened picture of fear as the thunder storm threatened to strike the lone flying dragon. The lone dragon was an ice type and its crystallised body gave off a ghostly appearance as it reflected the pale silver light from the barely visible crescent moon. The lone dragon was not at all fazed at the daunting challenge of flying in the storm, for it had its mind set on caring for the precious egg she was carrying and as dangerous it was she flew on. The rain that night wasn’t just heavy but to appearance looked as if the dragon was flying in a waterfall. After some hour went by a cliff became just visible and the dragon began it’s decent. Finally coming into a cave in the cliff the dragon carefully placed the pearl like egg on the ground, and for the first time in days the ice dragon had a chance to regain her strength, still dripping with water. The moment was short lived. She heard the sound she was dreading, the sound of a wing beat rapidly coming closer and closer. The only option for her was to climb from the cliff and onto land, and then she had a chance to lose the pursuer. She slowly got to her feet still exhausted from the flight she walked to the mouth of the cave and just at that moment a bolt of lightning broke the sky and for a split second glimpsed the silhouette of her pursuer, a large dragon. She gave one last look at the precious egg that had brought her this far away from home and started the painful accent up the cliff face.

Chapter 2
The beginning

On a clear, new day, the sky had cleared over night and the sun was warming the earth. The new morning was the best time of day to the young inquisitive dragon. A fire dragon running in the fields chasing birds and stopping to watch the green fields shine with the reflection of the sun from last nights rain. The young dragon has a thin, amber, scaly body with two golden/yellow horns, he also has deep burning red eyes with considerably large wings for such a small dragon. The young dragon ran at full pelt and leaped, just before landing he flapped his large wings and was flying. He loved flying, he loved the sights he could see. He was looking out too the ocean where the sunrise had beaten him to the sight but he loved the glittering blue expanse of water he saw each morning. He flew towards the cliff being careful not to go too close to the edge in case it was unstable. He noticed something different that morning when he landed, the grass he landed on wasn’t wet it was dry, stiff and looked a brownish sort of colour. His curiosity got the better of him as he followed the brown marks in the grass they vanished after a few minutes of following them. So he turned back towards the cliff and flew off the edge of it, then he noticed the marks he was following came from up the cliff face, he also notices a small cave in the face of the cliff and had just managed to land in it with out falling. He looked around and saw a large rock that was a pretty white colour. It took him some time but he managed to carry it up on top of the cliff, in the sunlight the colour changed slightly. It still looked white but it shined a blue, purple and pink colour. Just thinking it was a pretty rock he took it back to his home, a large burrow in a field.

Chapter 3
The new light

Four days had passed after the young fire dragon had found the strange coloured stone when he noticed a crack starting to appear along one side of the stone. The dragon thought he had been clumsy and dropped it or something but the crack got bigger the more he thought about it, but then he thought, what if it isn’t a stone, what if it’s some sort of bird’s egg. Wait it can’t be a bird’s egg that thing’s far to big for a bird... so what is it? The crack was now half way down the egg and had branched off in to several directions, at that point a small fragment fell in the egg and the young fire dragon peered in, he couldn’t see anything but the shadowy inside of the other side of the shell. The hole suddenly opened up fully with a sickening crack, and for the first time he saw the contents of the egg. There was a small white version of himself, a dragon. He carefully picked up the young dragon and placed her on his bed, a patch of soft grass. Then he said, “Hello, I’m Blaze. Who are you?” Blaze said, a part of him knew he wouldn’t get an answer but still he asked. The little dragon only looked at him confused, the little dragon looked to be white but was shiny and has very bright light blue eyes, that looked at him lovingly. Then Blaze looked around and found a small piece of metal that his father said was called silver, the colour looked like the colour of the little dragon’s scales. “You need a name don’t you? What do you think about silver?” Blaze asked holding the piece of metal out for the little dragon to look at. In response the little dragon lowered it’s head and closed it’s eyes and then sat up again.
“No, then.” Blaze said putting the piece of metal back. “I know. What about Glacier? Because you look like an ice dragon to me.” Blaze asked.
The little dragon waged it’s tail rapidly.
“so that’s a yes then. Ok then little Glacier, you must be hungry.” Blaze said turning to get a piece of meat from behind him. He placed it in front of Glacier. Glacier sniffed it and looked at Blaze.
“you’re supposed to eat it.” Blaze explained taking a chunk of meat and eating it.
The little dragon just curled up and fell asleep.

Chapter 4
The start

When Glacier woke up she started to cry, Blaze panicked not knowing what to do. “What am I supposed to do? Are you hungry?” Blaze said running over to Glacier.
At the mention of the word hungry Glacier stopped crying and looked up at Blaze.
“What do you want?” Said Blaze not really expecting an answer, then he remembered that he had milk when he was young. “Do you want milk?” Blaze asked.
The young Glacier waged it’s tail rapidly.
“Right stay here I’m going to find a cow.” Blaze said as he ran out in search of a cow holding a small bucket.
Some time later Blaze returned with the bucket full and he gently placed it in front of Glacier who started drinking strait away.
Blaze was happy to have company after being alone for three years after his dad had died. He was especially happy that it was another dragon. Blaze smiled as he closed his eyes and remembered when his dad was still alive the tall orange/red dragon that had taught him every thing. Soon both young dragons where asleep.

Chapter 5
Ten years

Ten years had passed since Glacier was born and Blaze had grown into a fine young dragon now in adulthood. Glacier was now an inquisitive young dragon now able to talk, walk, run and fly. Glacier had also learnt how to use ice breath. She had grown into a fine young dragon herself, she has a long thin body, with long slender legs, wings and tail. She is silver in colour and now had glass looking horns, her eyes still as bright as when she hatched. Glacier had since wondered where she came from as recently Blaze had told her that he found her egg in the cave in the cave. And since then she has been training through the nights to prepare herself for when the day came that she would search for who she was and where she came from. Glacier was determined but just couldn’t tell Blaze, she loved him like he was her father. She liked her life in the fields but Blaze knew that she wanted to know about who she was.

wow what an amazing story i love how sad it starts yet gets happier over time, it may have some small similaritys to Spyro fan 8's story but its still original and i love it, you'll have to remind me of the updates or i'll forget, anyway its really good and i'm looking forward to more

Chapter 6
The decision

That evening before they steeled down for the night Blaze asked “I understand what you mean, it isn’t easy not knowing where you came from.”
This took Glacier by surprise and she just looked at Blaze stunned by what he said.
“I know what you’re thinking you want to go to your homeland, even though you know your home is here... You still want to know who you are, why you’re here and what you’re meant to do... correct?” Blaze asked staring in to the fire.
“...Yes, I know how nice you’ve been to me but... I know that this isn’t my life, my life is still out there, and I know it is...” Glacier said looking down at the grass beneath her starting to turn brown n the last autumn sunlight.
“It’s not what you think that maters, it’s what you do... It’s your decision but just remember this, I’m always here to help if you ever need me...” Blaze said putting out the fire and heading into the burrow. Glacier stayed outside and looked up at the night sky there was a crescent moon drifting in the navy sky with countless stars shining down oh her. Glacier stood up and walked towards the woods that surrounded the fields then stopped. She turned to see that Blaze was standing in the entrance of the burrow, watching her. Glacier turned around and walked up to Blaze.
“Mmm, Blaze? Can I ask you something?” Glacier asked without making eye contact with Blaze.
“Yes...”
“Well, it’s what you said, you said that you’d be there if I ever needed you... so please I need you to help me, to find out what I am, please...” Glacier said finally looking into Blaze’s deep red eyes.
“....Mmm, it seems that you are wise enough to ask for help... But sadly I cannot, I have promised to look after this...” Blaze held a large stone shaped like a giant bird’s egg. A dragon egg. “I’m sorry but the truth will become clear when you find out why I cannot other than this soon to be little one...”
“So what am I supposed to do?”
“You choose your own destiny in life, so you cannot let others guide you.”
Glacier thought that whole night out under the stars and came to her final decision. She would leave without another word to Blaze... That night the crescent moon watched over the young dragon as she walked into the woods...

Chapter 7
Into the unknown

The shadowy woods where playing tricks on Glacier as soon as she entered the forest, she thought she heard something, then she saw something move. Glacier was frightened. From that point on Glacier was on edge, she was ready for an attack, a movement of any kind and she was straining here eyes to penetrate the darkness. Glacier was constantly on the look out straining all of her senses to catch the slightest opportunity of an attack. Glacier was paranoid, she thought that anything could attack her and with being silver thought that she would be spotted easily, so she covered herself with mud, she may not have liked it but she felt more comfortable and began to relax a bit. She continued to walk into the woods, each step feeling more and more uncertain for some reason, as if she had forgotten something, but what was it? Then it occurred to her that she didn’t know where she was going. In a panic Glacier started to run, the passing branches whipped her and gave her various cuts. She then saw a deep ditch come into view just in front of where she was running, she was going to fall. She then opened her wings and took flight, she saw that in the ditch below her where jagged rocks, if she’d fallen in there it would have killed her. When she landed on the other side of the ditch she stopped moving and just stood still and said to herself. “just calm down, I’ll get into more trouble if I panic, just calm down...” When she opened her eyes she saw the familiar shadowy trees and their branches over lapped over head forbidding her to fly again. Glacier then continued at a trot as to conserve energy and still be slow enough and fast enough to see where she was going and to keep at a good enough pace. Then she felt some thing and stopped. It was a strange feeling that she’d never come across before, it was as if someone or something was watching her. She had felt like this as soon as she’d entered the deeper part of the woods, as if something was following her. A sudden movement caught Glacier’s eye, a shadow had fallen to be right on her, something was above her...

Chapter 8
The shadow’s owner

The shadow had gotten bigger and the frightened Glacier felt as if she was frozen, she couldn’t move at all, she was transfixed with the shadow rapidly growing in size when all of a sudden a loud crashing noise came from above her. Glacier looked up to see that there was a large creature with wings, four legs, a tail and a large head with large horns had crashed in to the branches above her. Following her instincts she ran, at full pelt she wasn’t concerned about anything on the ground any more she just wanted to get away from the creature at any cost. Glacier -still running at full speed- turned her head to see where the creature was, to her horror it was chasing her, it wasn’t very far away from here and was swiftly catching up with her, and even at her full speed she couldn’t escape. She gritted here teeth in pain as she again tried to increase here speed, when she opened here eyes it was too late, she was going to run into another ditch. She tucked here legs and tail as close to here body as possible and ducked her head in here chest, trying to avoid injury. As she tumbled into the ditch she was hit by several rocks on the way down and her wing hurt badly. She looked up to see the creature standing not even a meter away, she couldn’t escape, not that close to it. She was trapped.

Chapter 9
The next move

Glacier was trapped, there was no way out for escape, the creatures glowing red eyes kept here transfixed in its gaze. Glacier –unable to move- thought, what am I meant to do? I can’t fly so I’m stuck in the ditch there’s no point running because there’s no where to run too, so what can I do?
At that very moment the creature leaped at Glacier, The petrified Glacier leaped up on to the creature’s out stretched fore leg and clambered on its back and then up to its horned head, the creature then out stretched its wings and beat them with a massive thump and they where in the air. Glacier saw the opportunity to escape and leaped off the front of the creatures head and clawed the edge of the ditch on the opposite side. The creature was soon upon her ready to grab her, Glacier wasn’t going to make things easy for the creature, She pulled herself over the edge and ran. She took a sudden turn thinking that’d work but it didn’t, she ran up to a tree and took a sharp turn and on the other side of the tree climbed for her life, she hoped that that’d caught him off guard but when she looked to see the creature there was nothing there, not even the slightest trace of anything. So Glacier slowly got down from the tree and walked back to the trail she was on before and thought, that the shape of the creature looked like her own and like Blaze, was it a dragon? And what colour was it? It looked black but it might have been from being in the shadows. Glacier was glad to have gotten away from what ever it was and continued walking.

Chapter 10
The edge

After a hour of walking Glacier thought it looked lighter, the trees had become more spread out and when she looked ahead she could see the sun starting to rise. She picked up the pace and started to trot, the light grew more intense as the sun rose and Glacier had finally reached the other side of the wood. Glacier inspected her trailing wing, it had a large cut going from her shoulder to the joint in her wing. She needed to get some leaves to cover it, but she wasn’t going to go back in the wood, there was nothing that would make her do that. So she gathered some grass and covered the cut with it and gathered a few large leaves at the edge of the wood to keep it sealed. From where she was she could see lots of fields going off in to the distance and at the very limit of her sight she could make out the far mountains. She decided that’s where she would go to the mountains.
