First you must get on high ground, For Example Dante's Freezer's troll castle thingys. And when they try to get you. Shock them with Electricty or Tailstrike them.

How does that slow motion thing work coz that thing happens to me a lot but I don't knopw what causes it?

Go to Options and at the bottom there is "Slow Motion Chance" fill the bar to the top to get slow mo

I hate the slow motion thing for some reason.

I think it's more dynamic if the enemies are about to get the last of their health drained by just being tossed into the air. When I did that for the first time, I was all "what was that about" and didn't face it again until a couple of levels later, when I creamed the baboons for the sake of seeing that effect again
