Huh? far as i remember, skillpoints=cute li'l epilogue that tells u what happens 2 the characters. I don't think it means infinite lives...or does it?

and whoever finished skillpoints did u really get more lives, cuz i've never finished all of em

You get a live each skillpoint you get. I don't recall if you can get the same one twice, though.

DUH! Oh yeah, a little blackish blue butterfly would come out and sparx would eat it and get a life. I was thinking of something else to do w/ skill pints, sorry

heres a good skill point, get the power up behind the door and go to crushes boss fight, then use the fire blast to hit ripto in his chair and u get a skill point

And if you defeat Crush without getting hit you get another skill point. Is it the same with Gulp?

Yes. And Ripto. And the 'Hit Ripto' skillpoint is in Gulp's Overlook, not Crush's Dungeon.
