How about a separate point system that works like the one on Spyro Forum and the one on my site where you gain points when posting, and can donate them to other users, which could be useful if someone was selling avatars. It makes things alot more fun smilie

I have a feeling that dark52 would like to keep the forums as simple as possible for an easy user interface. Having a point system along with a gem count may be confusing.
